耶和华命令重建圣殿
大流士王第二年六月初一，耶和华的话藉哈该先知向撒拉铁的儿子犹大省长所罗巴伯和约撒答的儿子约书亚大祭司传讲，说：
In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
2“万军之耶和华如此说，这百姓说，建造耶和华殿的时候还没有到☛“建造...还没有到”：原文另译“现在还没有到建造耶和华殿的时候”。。”Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD's house should be built.
3耶和华的话藉哈该先知传讲，说：Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,
4“这殿荒凉，你们自己还住天花板的房屋吗？Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?
5现在，万军之耶和华如此说，你们要省察自己的行为。Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
6你们撒的种多，收的却少；你们吃，却不得饱；喝，却不得足；穿衣服，却不得暖；领工钱的，领了工钱却装入有破洞的袋中。Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
7“万军之耶和华如此说，你们要省察自己的行为。Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
8你们要上山取木料，建造这殿，我就因此喜乐，且得荣耀。这是耶和华说的。Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.
9你们盼望多得，看哪，所得的却少；你们收到家中，我就吹去。这是为什么呢？因为我的殿荒凉，你们各人却只为自己的房屋奔走。这是万军之耶和华说的。Ye looked for much, and lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.
10所以，因你们的缘故☛七十士译本没有“因你们的缘故”。，天不降甘露，地也不出土产。Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit.
11我命令干旱临到土地、山冈、五谷、新酒、新油和地上的出产，也临到人和牲畜，以及一切人手劳碌得来的。”百姓顺从耶和华的命令
And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.
12那时，撒拉铁的儿子所罗巴伯、约撒答的儿子约书亚大祭司，和所有幸存的百姓都听从耶和华－他们神的话，就是哈该先知奉耶和华他们神差遣所说的话；百姓在耶和华面前存敬畏的心。Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD.
13耶和华的使者哈该奉耶和华差遣对百姓说：“我与你们同在。这是耶和华说的。”Then spake Haggai the LORD's messenger in the LORD's message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the LORD.
14耶和华激发撒拉铁的儿子犹大省长所罗巴伯、约撒答的儿子约书亚大祭司，和所有幸存百姓的心，他们就来为万军之耶和华－他们神的殿做工。And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,
15这是在大流士王第二年六月二十四日。In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
