新殿的荣耀
七月二十一日，耶和华的话藉哈该先知传讲，说：
In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of the LORD by the prophet Haggai, saying,
2“你要晓谕撒拉铁的儿子犹大省长所罗巴伯、约撒答的儿子约书亚大祭司，和所有幸存的百姓，说：Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying,
3‘你们中间存留的，有谁见过这殿从前的荣耀呢？现在你们看如何？在你们眼中岂不是如同无有吗？Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?
4所罗巴伯啊，现在，你当刚强！这是耶和华说的。约撒答的儿子约书亚大祭司啊，你当刚强！这是耶和华说的。这地的百姓啊，你们都当刚强做工，因为我与你们同在。这是万军之耶和华说的。Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts:
5这是照着你们出埃及时我与你们立约的话。我的灵仍要住在你们中间，你们不必惧怕。According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.
6万军之耶和华如此说：过些时候，我必再一次震动天地、沧海与干地。For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;
7我必震动万国，万国的珍宝都必运来☛“万国...必运来”或译“万国所羡慕的必来到”。，我就使这殿充满荣耀。这是万军之耶和华说的。And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
8银子是我的，金子也是我的。这是万军之耶和华说的。The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.
9这后来的殿的荣耀必大过先前的荣耀。这是万军之耶和华说的。在这地方我必赐平安。这是万军之耶和华说的。’”先知向祭司请教
The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.
10大流士王第二年九月二十四日，耶和华的话临到哈该先知，说：In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,
11“万军之耶和华如此说，你要向祭司请教律法，说：Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,
12‘看哪，若有人用衣服的边兜圣肉，这衣服的边接触了饼，或汤，或酒，或油，或别的食物，这些是否成为圣呢？’”祭司回答说：“不。”If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No.
13哈该又说：“若有人因摸尸体染了不洁净，然后接触任何东西，这东西就变为不洁净吗？”祭司回答说：“必不洁净。”Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.
14于是哈该说：“耶和华说，在我面前这民如此，这国也是如此；他们手里的各样工作都是如此；他们在那里所献的都不洁净。”耶和华应许赐福
Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the LORD; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.
15“现在，你们心里要想一想，从今日起，耶和华的殿还没有一块石头放在石头上的情况。And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD:
16那时你们怎么了？☛“你们怎么了？”是根据七十士译本，原文是“自从你们这么样”。有人来到二十斗的谷堆那里，却只得了十斗；有人来到酒池那里要取五十桶，却只得了二十桶。Since those days were, when one came to an heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty.
17我以焚风☛“焚风”或译“虫害”。、霉烂、冰雹攻击你们，和你们手上的各样工作，你们仍不归向我。这是耶和华说的。I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith the LORD.
18你们心里要想一想，从今日起，就是从这九月二十四日起，从立耶和华殿根基的日子起，你们心里想一想：Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD's temple was laid, consider it.
19仓里还有谷种吗？葡萄树、无花果树、石榴树、橄榄树虽没有结果子，☛“葡萄树...果子，”七十士译本是“葡萄树、无花果树、石榴树、橄榄树都还没有结果子吗？”从今日起，我必赐福。”耶和华给所罗巴伯的应许
Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.
20这月二十四日，耶和华的话再次临到哈该，说：And again the word of the LORD came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying,
21“你要告诉犹大省长所罗巴伯说，我必震动天地，Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;
22倾覆列国的宝座，除灭列邦列国的势力，并倾覆战车和坐在其上的。马和骑兵都必跌倒，各人被弟兄的刀所杀。And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.
23万军之耶和华说：撒拉铁的儿子我仆人所罗巴伯啊，这是耶和华说的，到那日，我必以你为印，因我拣选了你。这是万军之耶和华说的。”In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the LORD, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith the LORD of hosts.
