第一次人口普查
以色列人出埃及地后第二年二月初一，耶和华在西奈旷野，在会幕中吩咐摩西说：
And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
2“你要按宗族、父家、人名的数目计算以色列全会众，数点所有的男丁。Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls;
3以色列中凡二十岁以上能出去打仗的，你和亚伦要按照他们的队伍数点。From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.
4每支派要有一个人，就是父家的家长跟你们一起。And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers.
5这是帮助你们的人的名字： 属吕便的，示丢珥的儿子以利蓿；And these are the names of the men that shall stand with you: of the tribe of Reuben; Elizur the son of Shedeur.
6属西缅的，苏利沙代的儿子示路蔑；Of Simeon; Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
7属犹大的，亚米拿达的儿子拿顺；Of Judah; Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
8属以萨迦的，苏押的儿子拿坦业；Of Issachar; Nethaneel the son of Zuar.
9属西布伦的，希伦的儿子以利押；Of Zebulun; Eliab the son of Helon.
10约瑟子孙、属以法莲的，亚米忽的儿子以利沙玛；属玛拿西的，比大蓿的儿子迦玛列；Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim; Elishama the son of Ammihud: of Manasseh; Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
11属便雅悯的，基多尼的儿子亚比但；Of Benjamin; Abidan the son of Gideoni.
12属但的，亚米沙代的儿子亚希以谢；Of Dan; Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
13属亚设的，俄兰的儿子帕结；Of Asher; Pagiel the son of Ocran.
14属迦得的，丢珥的儿子以利雅萨；Of Gad; Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
15属拿弗他利的，以南的儿子亚希拉。”Of Naphtali; Ahira the son of Enan.
16这些是从会众中选出来的父系支派的领袖，是以色列部队的官长。These were the renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers, heads of thousands in Israel.
17于是，摩西和亚伦带着这些按名指定的人，And Moses and Aaron took these men which are expressed by their names:
18在二月初一召集全会众。会众就照他们的宗族、父家、人名的数目，登记二十岁以上的人口。And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.
19耶和华怎样吩咐摩西，他就照样在西奈的旷野数点他们。As the LORD commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.
20以色列的长子，吕便子孙的后代，照着宗族、父家、人名的数目，他们的人口凡二十岁以上能出去打仗的男丁，And the children of Reuben, Israel's eldest son, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
21吕便支派被数的共有四万六千五百名。Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Reuben, were forty and six thousand and five hundred.
22西缅子孙的后代，照着宗族、父家、被数☛有古卷、七十士译本和其他古译本没有“被数”。人名的数目，他们的人口凡二十岁以上能出去打仗的男丁，Of the children of Simeon, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, those that were numbered of them, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
23西缅支派被数的共有五万九千三百名。Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred.
24迦得子孙的后代，照着宗族、父家、人名的数目，凡二十岁以上能出去打仗的，Of the children of Gad, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
25迦得支派被数的共有四万五千六百五十名。Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Gad, were forty and five thousand six hundred and fifty.
26犹大子孙的后代，照着宗族、父家、人名的数目，凡二十岁以上能出去打仗的，Of the children of Judah, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
27犹大支派被数的共有七万四千六百名。Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Judah, were threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred.
28以萨迦子孙的后代，照着宗族、父家、人名的数目，凡二十岁以上能出去打仗的，Of the children of Issachar, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
29以萨迦支派被数的共有五万四千四百名。Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Issachar, were fifty and four thousand and four hundred.
30西布伦子孙的后代，照着宗族、父家、人名的数目，凡二十岁以上能出去打仗的，Of the children of Zebulun, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
31西布伦支派被数的共有五万七千四百名。Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Zebulun, were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred.
32约瑟子孙属以法莲子孙的后代，照着宗族、父家、人名的数目，凡二十岁以上能出去打仗的，Of the children of Joseph, namely, of the children of Ephraim, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
33以法莲支派被数的共有四万零五百名。Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Ephraim, were forty thousand and five hundred.
34玛拿西子孙的后代，照着宗族、父家、人名的数目，凡二十岁以上能出去打仗的，Of the children of Manasseh, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
35玛拿西支派被数的共有三万二千二百名。Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Manasseh, were thirty and two thousand and two hundred.
36便雅悯子孙的后代，照着宗族、父家、人名的数目，凡二十岁以上能出去打仗的，Of the children of Benjamin, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
37便雅悯支派被数的共有三万五千四百名。Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Benjamin, were thirty and five thousand and four hundred.
38但子孙的后代，照着宗族、父家、人名的数目，凡二十岁以上能出去打仗的，Of the children of Dan, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
39但支派被数的共有六万二千七百名。Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Dan, were threescore and two thousand and seven hundred.
40亚设子孙的后代，照着宗族、父家、人名的数目，凡二十岁以上能出去打仗的，Of the children of Asher, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
41亚设支派被数的共有四万一千五百名。Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Asher, were forty and one thousand and five hundred.
42拿弗他利子孙的后代，照着宗族、父家、人名的数目，凡二十岁以上能出去打仗的，Of the children of Naphtali, throughout their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
43拿弗他利支派被数的共有五万三千四百名。Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.
44这些就是被数点的，是摩西、亚伦和以色列十二个领袖所数点的；每一个领袖代表他们的父家。These are those that were numbered, which Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men: each one was for the house of his fathers.
45以色列人被数点的总数，以色列中照着父家，凡二十岁以上能出去打仗的，So were all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;
46他们被数点的总数是六十万三千五百五十名。Even all they that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
47利未人却没有按照父系支派数在其中。But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.
48耶和华吩咐摩西说：For the LORD had spoken unto Moses, saying,
49“惟独利未支派你不可数点，也不可在以色列人中计算他们的人口。Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel:
50你要派利未人管理法柜的帐幕和其中一切的器具，以及属帐幕的一切。他们要抬帐幕和其中一切的器具，并要办理帐幕的事务，在帐幕的四围安营。But thou shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that belong to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.
51帐幕将往前行的时候，利未人要拆卸；将驻扎的时候，利未人要支搭帐幕。近前来的外人必被处死。And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
52以色列人要按照各自的队伍安营，各归本营，各归本旗。And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, throughout their hosts.
53但利未人要在法柜帐幕的四围安营，免得愤怒临到以色列会众；利未人要负责看守法柜的帐幕。”But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of testimony.
54以色列人就这样做了。凡耶和华所吩咐摩西的，他们都照样做了。And the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.
