以利亚和旱灾
住在基列的提斯比人以利亚对亚哈说：“我指着所事奉永生的耶和华－以色列的神起誓，这几年我若不祷告，必不降露水，也不下雨。”
And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
2耶和华的话临到以利亚，说：And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
3“你离开这里往东去，躲在约旦河东边的基立溪旁。Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
4你要喝那溪里的水，我已吩咐乌鸦在那里供养你。”And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
5于是以利亚去了，他遵照耶和华的话做，去住在约旦河东的基立溪旁。So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
6乌鸦早上给他叼饼和肉来，晚上也有饼和肉，他又喝溪里的水。And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.
7过了些日子溪水干了，因为雨没有下在地上。以利亚和撒勒法的寡妇
And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.
8耶和华的话临到他，说：And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
9“你起身到西顿的撒勒法去，住在那里，看哪，我已吩咐那里的一个寡妇供养你。”Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
10以利亚就起身往撒勒法去。他到了城门，看哪，有一个寡妇在那里捡柴。以利亚呼唤她说：“请你用器皿取点水来给我喝。”So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
11她去取水的时候，以利亚又呼唤她说：“请你手里也拿点饼来给我。”And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
12她说：“我指着永生的耶和华－你的神起誓，我没有饼，坛内只有一把面，瓶里只有一点油。看哪，我去找两根柴，带回家为我和我儿子做饼。我们吃了，就等死吧！”And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
13以利亚对她说：“不要怕！你去照你所说的做吧！只要先为我做一个小饼，拿来给我，然后为你和你的儿子做饼；And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
14因为耶和华－以色列的神如此说：‘坛内的面必不用尽，瓶里的油必不短缺，直到耶和华使雨降在地上的日子。’”For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.
15妇人就照以利亚的话去做。她和以利亚，以及她家中的人，吃了许多日子。And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.
16坛内的面果然没有用尽，瓶里的油也不短缺，正如耶和华藉以利亚所说的话。And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.
17这事以后，那妇人，就是那家的女主人，她的儿子病了，病得很重，甚至没有气息。And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.
18妇人对以利亚说：“神人哪，我跟你有什么关系，你竟到我这里来，使神记起我的罪，以致我的儿子死了呢？”And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?
19以利亚对她说：“把你儿子交给我。”以利亚就从妇人怀中接过孩子来，抱到他所住的顶楼，放在自己的床上。And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.
20他求告耶和华说：“耶和华－我的神啊，我寄居在这寡妇的家里，你却降祸于她，使她的儿子死了吗？”And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?
21以利亚三次伏在孩子的身上，求告耶和华说：“耶和华－我的神啊，求你使这孩子的生命归回给他吧！”And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again.
22耶和华听了以利亚的呼求，孩子的生命归回给他，他就活了。And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
23以利亚把孩子从楼上抱下来，进了房间交给他母亲，说：“看，你的儿子活了！”And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.
24妇人对以利亚说：“现在我知道你是神人，耶和华藉你口所说的话是真的。”And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth.
