大卫的遗言
以下是大卫末了的话：
“耶西的儿子大卫的话， 得居高位的， 雅各的神所膏的， 以色列所喜爱的诗人的话。Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
2耶和华的灵藉着我说话， 他的言语在我的舌头上。The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
3以色列的神说， 以色列的磐石向我说： ‘那以公义治理人， 以敬畏神来治理的，The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
4他必像晨光， 如无云清晨的日出， 如雨后的光辉， 在嫩草地上。’And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.
5我的家在神面前不是如此吗？ 神与我立永远的约， 这约既全备又稳妥。 我的一切救恩和我一切所想望的， 他岂不成全吗？Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.
6但无赖全都像被丢弃的荆棘； 它们不能用手去拿；But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:
7碰它们的人必须用铁器和枪杆， 它们必在那里被火烧尽。”大卫的勇士

But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.

9跟随大卫的三勇士中，其次是亚何亚人朵多的儿子以利亚撒。从前非利士人聚集要打仗，他们向非利士人骂阵。以色列人上去的时候，And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:
10他起来击杀非利士人，直到手臂疲乏，手粘住刀把。那日耶和华大获全胜，百姓跟在以利亚撒后面只顾夺取掠物。He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
11再其次是哈拉人亚基☛“亚基”：原文另译“以拉”。的儿子沙玛。一次，非利士人聚集在利希☛“在利希”是根据可能是较早的读法；原文是“成群”。，在一块长满红豆的田里，百姓在非利士人面前逃跑。And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.
12沙玛却站在那田的中间，防守那田，击败了非利士人。耶和华大获全胜。But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.
13开始收割的时候，三个☛“三个”：原文另译“三十个”。侍卫☛“侍卫”是根据可能是较早的读法；原文是“三十”。下到亚杜兰洞，到大卫那里。非利士的军兵在利乏音谷安营。And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.
14那时大卫在山寨，非利士人的驻军在伯利恒。And David was then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.
15大卫渴想着说：“但愿有人从伯利恒城门旁的井里打水来给我喝！”And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!
16这三个勇士就闯过非利士人的军营，从伯利恒城门旁的井里打水，拿来给大卫喝。他却不肯喝，将水浇在耶和华面前，And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.
17说：“耶和华啊，我绝不做这事！这三个人冒生命的危险，这不是他们的血吗？”大卫不肯喝这水。这是三个勇士所做的事。And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.
18洗鲁雅的儿子，约押的兄弟亚比筛是这三个勇士的领袖；他曾举枪杀了三百人，就在三个勇士中得了名。And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.
19他在这三个☛“三个”：原文另译“三十个”。勇士中是最有名望的，所以作他们的领袖，只是不及前三个勇士。Was he not most honourable of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the first three.
20耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅是来自甲薛的勇士，曾行了大事。他杀了摩押人亚利伊勒的两个儿子，又在下雪的时候下到坑里去，杀了一只狮子。And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:
21他又杀了一个魁梧的埃及人；埃及人手里拿着枪。比拿雅只拿着棍子下到他那里去，从埃及人手里夺过枪来，用那枪杀死了他。And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
22这些是耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅所做的事，就在三个勇士里得了名。These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.
23他比那三十个勇士☛“那三十个勇士”：有古卷是“那些侍卫”。更有名望，只是不及前三个勇士。大卫立他作护卫长。He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.
24三十个勇士中有约押的兄弟亚撒黑，伯利恒人朵多的儿子伊勒哈难，Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
25哈律人沙玛，哈律人以利加，Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
26帕勒提人希利斯，提哥亚人益吉的儿子以拉，Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,
27亚拿突人亚比以谢，户沙人米本乃，Abiezer the Anethothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,
28亚何亚人撒们，尼陀法人玛哈莱，Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,
29尼陀法人巴拿的儿子希立，便雅悯族基比亚人利拜的儿子以太，Heleb the son of Baanah, a Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,
30比拉顿人比拿雅，迦实溪人希太，Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,
31亚拉巴人亚比．亚本，巴鲁米人押斯玛弗，Abialbon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,
32沙本人以利雅哈巴，雅善儿子中的约拿单，Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,
33哈拉人沙玛☛“雅善儿子中...沙玛”：原文另译“沽尼族的雅善，哈拉人沙玛的儿子约拿单”。，哈拉人沙拉的儿子亚希暗，Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Hararite,

39赫人乌利亚，共三十七人。Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.
