拿单传信息给大卫
（代上17．1－15）
王住在自己宫中，耶和华使他平静，不被四围的仇敌扰乱。
And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;
2王对拿单先知说：“你看，我住在香柏木的宫中，神的约柜却停在幔子里。”That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.
3拿单对王说：“你可以完全照你的心意去做，因为耶和华与你同在。”And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee.
4当夜耶和华的话临到拿单，说：And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying,
5“你去对我仆人大卫说：‘耶和华如此说：你要建造殿宇给我居住吗？Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?
6自从我领以色列人从埃及上来，直到今日，我未曾住过殿宇，却在会幕和帐幕中行走。Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.
7凡我同以色列人所走的地方，我何曾向以色列任何一个领袖☛“领袖”：原文是“支派”。，就是我吩咐牧养我百姓以色列的，说过这话：你们为何不给我建造香柏木的殿宇呢？’In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?
8现在，你要对我仆人大卫这样说：‘万军之耶和华如此说：我从羊圈中将你召来，叫你不再牧放羊群，立你作我百姓以色列的君王。Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:
9你无论往哪里去，我都与你同在，剪除你所有的仇敌。我必使你得大名，好像世上伟人的名一样。And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.
10我必为我百姓以色列选定一个地方，栽植他们，使他们住自己的地方，不再受搅扰；凶恶之子也不像从前那样苦待他们，Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,
11并不像我命令士师治理我百姓以色列的日子。我必使你平静，不受任何仇敌搅扰，并且耶和华应许你，耶和华必为你建立家室。And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house.
12当你寿数满足、与你祖先同睡的时候，我必使你身所生的后裔接续你；我也必坚定他的国。And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
13他必为我的名建造殿宇，我必坚定他国度的王位，直到永远。He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
14我要作他的父，他要作我的子；他若犯了罪，我必用人的杖，用世人的鞭责罚他。I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
15但我的慈爱仍不离开他，像离开在你面前所废的扫罗一样。But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.
16你的家和你的国必在你☛“你”：有古卷和七十士译本是“我”。面前永远坚立，你的王位也必坚定，直到永远。’”And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.
17拿单就按这一切话，照这一切异象告诉大卫。大卫的祈祷和感恩

According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
18于是大卫王进去，坐在耶和华面前，说：“主耶和华啊，我是谁，我的家算什么，你竟带领我到这地步呢？Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
19主耶和华啊，这在你眼中还看为小，你又说到你仆人的家将来的情况。主耶和华啊，这岂是人的常理吗？And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD?
20大卫还有什么可以对你说呢？主耶和华啊，你是知道你仆人的。And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant.
21你行这一切大事，使你的仆人明白，是因你应许的缘故，也照着你的心意。For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them.
22因此，主耶和华啊，你本为大；照我们耳中一切所听见的，没有可比你的，除你以外再没有神。Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
23谁像你的百姓以色列呢？神亲自去救赎世上的一国☛“谁像.一国”：七十士译本是“世上有何国能比你的百姓以色列呢？神亲自去救赎”。，作自己的子民，显出他的大名；为了你的地，从列国和他们的神明中，在你亲自从埃及赎出来的子民面前，为自己行了大而可畏的事☛“为了你的地.大而可畏的事”：七十士译本是“在你亲自从埃及赎出来的子民面前，为自己行了大而可畏的事，驱逐了列国和他们的神明”。。And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?
24你曾坚立你的百姓以色列作你的子民，直到永远；你－耶和华也作他们的神。For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God.
25现在，耶和华神啊，你所应许仆人和仆人家的话，求你坚定，直到永远；求你照你所说的而行。And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.
26愿人永远尊你的名为大，说：‘万军之耶和华是治理以色列的神。’这样，你仆人大卫的家必在你面前坚立。And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.
27万军之耶和华－以色列的神啊，因你启示你的仆人说：‘我必为你建立家室’，所以仆人大胆向你如此祈祷。For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.
28现在，主耶和华啊，惟有你是神！你的话是真实的，你也应许将这福气赐给仆人。And now, O Lord GOD, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:
29现在，求你赐福给你仆人的家，可以永存在你面前。主耶和华啊，因为这是你所应许的。愿你的福分永远赐给你仆人的家，使之蒙福！”Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.
