大卫说：“扫罗家还有剩下的人没有？我要因约拿单的缘故向他施恩。”
And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?
2扫罗家有一个仆人名叫洗巴，有人叫他来到大卫那里。王对他说：“你是洗巴吗？”他说：“仆人是。”And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba. And when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he.
3王说：“扫罗家还有没有剩下的人？我要照神的慈爱恩待他。”洗巴对王说：“还有约拿单的一个儿子，双腿是瘸的。”And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet.
4王对他说：“他在哪里？”洗巴对王说：“看哪，他在罗．底巴，亚米利的儿子玛吉家里。”And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.
5于是大卫王派人去，从罗．底巴，亚米利的儿子玛吉家里召了他来。Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.
6扫罗的孙子，约拿单的儿子米非波设来到大卫那里，脸伏于地叩拜。大卫说：“米非波设！”米非波设说：“看哪，仆人在此。”Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!
7大卫对他说：“你不要惧怕，我必因你父亲约拿单的缘故向你施恩，把你祖父扫罗的一切田地都归还你，你也可以常与我同席吃饭。”And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
8米非波设叩拜，说：“你的仆人算什么，不过如死狗一般，竟蒙你这样眷顾！”And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?
9王召了扫罗的仆人洗巴来，对他说：“我已把属扫罗和他的一切家产都赐给你主人的儿子了。Then the king called to Ziba, Saul's servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master's son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.
10你、你的众子和仆人要为你主人的儿子耕种田地，把所收获的拿来供他食用；你主人的儿子米非波设却要常与我同席吃饭。”洗巴有十五个儿子和二十个仆人。Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master's son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master's son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
11洗巴对王说：“凡我主我王吩咐仆人的，仆人都必遵行。”于是米非波设与王☛“王”：原文是“我”。同席吃饭，如王的儿子一样。Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons.
12米非波设有一个小儿子，名叫米迦。凡住在洗巴家里的人都作了米非波设的仆人。And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth.
13米非波设住在耶路撒冷，常与王同席吃饭。他两腿都是瘸的。So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king's table; and was lame on both his feet.
