犹大王约阿施
（代下24．1－26）
耶户第七年，约阿施登基，在耶路撒冷作王四十年。他母亲名叫西比亚，是别是巴人。
In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zibiah of Beersheba.
2约阿施在耶何耶大祭司教导他的一切日子，行耶和华眼中看为正的事。And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
3只是丘坛还没有废去，百姓仍在丘坛献祭烧香。But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
4约阿施对众祭司说：“凡献到耶和华殿分别为圣的银子，无论是人的赎价，各人生命的赎价， 或自愿献给耶和华殿的银子，And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the LORD, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man's heart to bring into the house of the LORD,
5祭司可以各自从认识的人收取，用来修理殿的破坏之处，就是在那里发现的一切破坏之处。”Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found.
6然而，到了约阿施王第二十三年，祭司仍未修理殿的破坏之处。But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house.
7所以约阿施王召了耶何耶大祭司和众祭司来，对他们说：“你们怎么不修理殿的破坏之处呢？现在，不要再从认识的人收银子了，但要为了殿的破坏之处，把银子交出来。”Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.
8众祭司答应不再收百姓的银子，也不再修理殿的破坏之处。And the priests consented to receive no more money of the people, neither to repair the breaches of the house.
9耶何耶大祭司取了一个柜子，在柜盖上钻了一个洞，放在祭坛旁，在进耶和华殿的右边；守门的祭司将献到耶和华殿的一切银子投在柜里。But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the LORD: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the LORD.
10他们见柜里的银子多了，就叫王的书记和大祭司上来，将耶和华殿里所得的银子数点了，包起来。And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king's scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the LORD.
11他们把秤好了的银子交在管理耶和华殿督工的手里，督工就支付给木匠和建造耶和华殿的工人，And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the LORD: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the LORD,
12瓦匠和石匠，又买木料和凿成的石头，用来修理耶和华殿的破坏之处，以及其他修理殿的各项费用。And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the LORD, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.
13但这些献到耶和华殿的银子，并没有用来造耶和华殿里的银杯、钳子、盘子、号筒和其他的金银器皿。Howbeit there were not made for the house of the LORD bowls of silver, snuffers, basons, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the LORD:
14他们把这银子交给工人，用来整修耶和华的殿。But they gave that to the workmen, and repaired therewith the house of the LORD.
15他们不用跟这些经手接受银子去支付工人的人算账，因为这些人办事诚实。Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.
16赎愆祭和赎罪祭的银子没有献到耶和华的殿里，都归给祭司。The trespass money and sin money was not brought into the house of the LORD: it was the priests'.
17那时，亚兰王哈薛上来攻打迦特，攻取了它。哈薛就定意上来攻打耶路撒冷。Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it: and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.
18犹大王约阿施将他祖先犹大王约沙法、约兰、亚哈谢所分别为圣的物和自己所分别为圣的物，以及耶和华殿与王宫府库里所有的金子都送给亚兰王哈薛；哈薛就不上耶路撒冷来了。And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and in the king's house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.
19约阿施其余的事，凡他所做的，不都写在《犹大列王记》上吗？And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
20约阿施的臣仆起来背叛，在下到悉拉路上的米罗宫那里把他杀了。And his servants arose, and made a conspiracy, and slew Joash in the house of Millo, which goeth down to Silla.
21杀他的臣仆就是示米押的儿子约撒拔☛“约撒拔”：有古卷是“约撒甲”。和朔默的儿子约萨拔。他与祖先同葬在大卫城，他儿子亚玛谢接续他作王。For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.
