以色列王约哈斯
亚哈谢的儿子犹大王约阿施第二十三年，耶户的儿子约哈斯在撒玛利亚登基作以色列王十七年。
In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned seventeen years.
2约哈斯行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，效法尼八的儿子耶罗波安使以色列陷入罪里的那罪，总不离开。And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.
3于是，耶和华的怒气向以色列发作，将他们屡次交在亚兰王哈薛和他儿子便．哈达的手里。And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, all their days.
4约哈斯恳求耶和华，耶和华就应允他，因为耶和华看见以色列所受的欺压，因亚兰王欺压他们。And Jehoahaz besought the LORD, and the LORD hearkened unto him: for he saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them.
5耶和华赐给以色列一位拯救者，使他们脱离亚兰人的手，于是以色列人仍旧安居在自己的帐棚里。(And the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime.
6然而他们不离开耶罗波安家使以色列陷入罪里的那罪，仍行在罪中，并且在撒玛利亚留下亚舍拉。Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who made Israel sin, but walked therein: and there remained the grove also in Samaria.)
7亚兰王灭绝约哈斯的军队，践踏他们如禾场上的尘沙，只给约哈斯留下五十骑兵，十辆战车，一万步兵。Neither did he leave of the people to Jehoahaz but fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like the dust by threshing.
8约哈斯其余的事，凡他所做的和他英勇的事迹，不都写在《以色列诸王记》上吗？Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
9约哈斯与他祖先同睡，葬在撒玛利亚，他儿子约阿施接续他作王。以色列王约阿施
And Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his stead.
10犹大王约阿施第三十七年，约哈斯的儿子约阿施在撒玛利亚登基作以色列王十六年。In the thirty and seventh year of Joash king of Judah began Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned sixteen years.
11他行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，不离开尼八的儿子耶罗波安使以色列陷入罪里的一切罪，仍行在罪中。And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD; he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin: but he walked therein.
12约阿施其余的事，凡他所做的和他与犹大王亚玛谢交战的英勇事迹，不都写在《以色列诸王记》上吗？And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, and his might wherewith he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
13约阿施与他祖先同睡，耶罗波安坐上他的王位。约阿施与以色列诸王一同葬在撒玛利亚。以利沙去世
And Joash slept with his fathers; and Jeroboam sat upon his throne: and Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
14以利沙得了致命的病，以色列王约阿施下来看他，伏在他脸上哭泣，说：“我父啊！我父啊！以色列的战车和骑兵啊！”Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.
15以利沙对他说：“把弓箭拿来。”王就拿了弓箭来。And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows.
16以利沙对以色列王说：“你用手开弓。”王就用手开弓。以利沙按手在王的手上，And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand upon it: and Elisha put his hands upon the king's hands.
17说：“打开朝东的窗户。”他就打开。以利沙说：“射箭！”他就射箭。以利沙说：“这是耶和华得胜的箭，是战胜亚兰人的箭，因为你必在亚弗攻打亚兰人，直到灭尽他们。”And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD's deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.
18以利沙又说：“拿几枝箭来。”他就拿了来。以利沙对以色列王说：“打地吧！”他打了三次，就停止了。And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.
19神人向他发怒，说：“你应当击打五六次，就能攻打亚兰人直到灭尽；现在你只能打败亚兰人三次。”And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.
20以利沙死了，人把他埋葬了。新的一年，摩押人成群结队入侵境内。And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.
21有人正在埋葬死人，看哪，他们看见一群人来，就把死人抛在以利沙的坟墓里，逃跑了。死人一碰到以利沙的骸骨，就活过来，用脚站了起来。以色列与亚兰争战
And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
22约哈斯在位年间，亚兰王哈薛屡次欺压以色列。But Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
23耶和华却因与亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各所立的约，仍施恩给以色列人，怜悯他们，眷顾他们，不肯灭尽他们，直到现在☛七十士译本没有“直到现在”。仍不赶逐他们离开自己面前。And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.
24亚兰王哈薛死了，他儿子便．哈达接续他作王。So Hazael king of Syria died; and Benhadad his son reigned in his stead.
25从前哈薛和约阿施的父亲约哈斯交战，攻取了些城镇，现在约哈斯的儿子约阿施三次打败哈薛的儿子便．哈达，从他手中收回了以色列的城镇。And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and recovered the cities of Israel.
