大卫说：“这是耶和华神的殿，这是以色列献燔祭的坛。”
筹备建殿
Then David said, This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.
2大卫吩咐人召集住以色列地的寄居者，又派石匠凿石头，要建造神的殿。And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.
3大卫预备许多铁，要做门上的钉子和钩子，又预备许多铜，多得无法可秤；And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;
4还有无数的香柏木，因为西顿人和推罗人给大卫运了许多香柏木来。Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.
5大卫说：“我儿子所罗门还年幼脆弱，要为耶和华建造的殿宇必须高大辉煌，使名声荣耀传遍万国，所以我要为殿预备。”于是，大卫在未死之前预备了许多材料。And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the LORD must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.
6大卫召了他儿子所罗门来，吩咐他为耶和华－以色列的神建造殿宇。Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the LORD God of Israel.
7大卫对所罗门说：“我儿啊，我心里本想为耶和华－我神的名建造殿宇，And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God:
8可是耶和华的话临到我说：‘你流了许多的血，打了多次大仗；你不可为我的名建造殿宇，因为你在我面前使许多血流在地上。But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.
9看哪，你要生一个儿子，他必成为安宁的人；我必使他得享安宁，不被四围仇敌扰乱。他的名字要叫所罗门☛“所罗门”意思是“平安”。，在他的日子，我必使以色列平安康泰。Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.
10他必为我的名建造殿宇。他要作我的子，我要作他的父。我必坚定他国度的王位，使他治理以色列，直到永远。’He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.
11我儿啊，现今愿耶和华与你同在，使你亨通，建造耶和华－你神的殿，正如他指着你所说的。Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee.
12但愿耶和华赐你聪明智慧，好按着他吩咐你的去治理以色列，遵行耶和华－你神的律法。Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God.
13那时候，你若谨守遵行耶和华藉摩西吩咐以色列的律例典章，就得亨通。你当刚强壮胆，不要惧怕，也不要惊惶。Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.
14看哪，我辛苦地为耶和华的殿预备了十万他连得金子，一百万他连得银子，铜和铁多得无法可秤；我也预备了木头、石头，你还可以增添。Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.
15你有许多工匠，就是石匠、木匠，和一切能做各样工的巧匠，Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.
16以及无数的金银铜铁。你当起来做工，愿耶和华与你同在。”Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.
17大卫又吩咐以色列的众官长帮助他儿子所罗门：David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,
18“耶和华－你们的神不是与你们同在吗？他不是使你们四围都平安吗？因他已将这地的居民交在我手中，这地已在耶和华与他百姓面前制伏了。Is not the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.
19现在你们应当立定心意，寻求耶和华－你们的神。你们当起来建造耶和华神的圣所，好将耶和华的约柜和神神圣的器皿都搬进为耶和华的名建造的殿里。”Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.
