早期跟随大卫的便雅悯人
以下是大卫因基士的儿子扫罗的缘故被放逐到洗革拉的时候，到他那里帮助他打仗的勇士；
Now these are they that came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish: and they were among the mighty men, helpers of the war.
2他们是弓箭手，能左右甩石，开弓射箭，都是便雅悯人扫罗同族的弟兄：They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in hurling stones and shooting arrows out of a bow, even of Saul's brethren of Benjamin.
3为首的是亚希以谢，其次是约阿施，都是基比亚人示玛的儿子。还有亚斯玛威的儿子耶薛和毗力，比拉迦，亚拿突人耶户，The chief was Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; and Jeziel, and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth; and Berachah, and Jehu the Antothite,
4基遍人以实买雅，他在三十人中是勇士，管理这三十人，又有耶利米，雅哈悉，约哈难，基底拉人约撒拔，And Ismaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty; and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Josabad the Gederathite,
5伊利乌赛，耶利末，比亚利雅，示玛利雅，哈律弗人示法提雅，Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite,
6可拉人以利加拿、耶西亚、亚萨列、约以谢、雅朔班，Elkanah, and Jesiah, and Azareel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korhites,
7基多人耶罗罕的儿子犹拉和西巴第雅。跟随大卫的迦得人
And Joelah, and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.
8迦得人中有人到旷野的山寨投奔大卫，都是大能的勇士，能拿盾牌和枪的战士。他们的面貌好像狮子，敏捷如山上的鹿。And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, and men of war fit for the battle, that could handle shield and buckler, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as the roes upon the mountains;
9第一以薛，第二俄巴底雅，第三以利押，Ezer the first, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,
10第四弥施玛拿，第五耶利米，Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,
11第六亚太，第七以利业，Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,
12第八约哈难，第九以利萨巴，Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,
13第十耶利米，第十一末巴奈。Jeremiah the tenth, Machbanai the eleventh.
14这些都是迦得人中的军官，小的能抵一百人，大的能抵一千人☛“小的能抵...一千人”或译“较小的率领一百人，较大的率领一千人”。。These were of the sons of Gad, captains of the host: one of the least was over an hundred, and the greatest over a thousand.
15正月，约旦河水涨过两岸的时候，他们过河，使所有住河谷的人东奔西逃。跟随大卫的便雅悯人和犹大人
These are they that went over Jordan in the first month, when it had overflown all his banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east, and toward the west.
16便雅悯人和犹大人中有人来到山寨大卫那里。And there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the hold unto David.
17大卫出去迎接他们，回答他们说：“你们若和平地来帮助我，我的心就与你们契合；但你们若把我这双手无辜的人卖给敌人，愿我们列祖的神察看责罚。”And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.
18那时军官☛“军官”：原文另译“那三十个勇士”。的领袖亚玛撒受灵的感动说： “大卫啊，我们归向你！ 耶西的儿子啊，我们帮助你！ 愿你平平安安， 愿帮助你的也都平安！ 因为你的神帮助你。”大卫就收留他们，派他们作军官。跟随大卫的玛拿西人
Then the spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the captains, and he said, Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.
19大卫从前与非利士人同去，要与扫罗争战，有些玛拿西人来投奔大卫。其实他们并没有帮助非利士人，因为非利士人的领袖商议，打发他回去，说：“恐怕大卫拿我们的首级去向他的主人扫罗投诚。”And there fell some of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.
20大卫往洗革拉去的时候，有玛拿西人的千夫长押拿、约撒拔、耶叠、米迦勒、约撒拔、以利户、洗勒太都来投奔他。As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zilthai, captains of the thousands that were of Manasseh.
21他们帮助大卫攻击敌军；因为他们都是大能的勇士，又作军官。And they helped David against the band of the rovers: for they were all mighty men of valour, and were captains in the host.
22那时天天有人来帮助大卫，以致成了强大的军队，如神的军队一样。大卫的军力
For at that time day by day there came to David to help him, until it was a great host, like the host of God.
23以下是来到希伯仑见大卫，要照耶和华的话把扫罗的国位归给大卫的武装士兵的数目：And these are the numbers of the bands that were ready armed to the war, and came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the LORD.
24犹大人，拿盾牌和枪的武装战士有六千八百人。The children of Judah that bare shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, ready armed to the war.
25西缅人中，能上阵的大能勇士有七千一百人。Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valour for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.
26利未人中，有四千六百人。Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred.
27耶何耶大是亚伦家的领袖，跟从他的有三千七百人。And Jehoiada was the leader of the Aaronites, and with him were three thousand and seven hundred;
28还有大能的青年勇士撒督，同他本族的二十二个军官。And Zadok, a young man mighty of valour, and of his father's house twenty and two captains.
29便雅悯人中，扫罗同族的弟兄也有三千人；直到现在他们大部分仍然效忠扫罗家。And of the children of Benjamin, the kindred of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept the ward of the house of Saul.
30以法莲人中，在本族中著名的大能勇士有二万零八百人。And of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of valour, famous throughout the house of their fathers.
31玛拿西半支派，册上有名来拥立大卫作王的，有一万八千人。And of the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, which were expressed by name, to come and make David king.
32以萨迦人中，通达时务，知道以色列所当行，同族弟兄也都听从他们命令的族长有二百人。And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.
33西布伦中，能上阵用各样作战的兵器、不生二心帮助打仗的有五万人。Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which could keep rank: they were not of double heart.
34拿弗他利中，有一千个军官；跟从他们、拿盾牌和枪的有三万七千人。And of Naphtali a thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty and seven thousand.
35但人中，能摆阵的有二万八千六百人。And of the Danites expert in war twenty and eight thousand and six hundred.
36亚设中，能上阵打仗的有四万人。And of Asher, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, forty thousand.
37约旦河东的吕便人、迦得人、玛拿西半支派，拿各样兵器打仗的有十二万人。And on the other side of Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, an hundred and twenty thousand.
38以上都是能列队上阵的战士，他们都全心来到希伯仑，要拥立大卫作全以色列的王。以色列其余的人也都一心要拥立大卫作王。All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.
39他们在那里三日，与大卫一同吃喝，因为他们同族的弟兄已经为他们预备好了。And there they were with David three days, eating and drinking: for their brethren had prepared for them.
40他们附近的人，以及以萨迦、西布伦、拿弗他利人，都将食物，许多面饼、无花果饼、干葡萄、酒、油，用驴、骆驼、骡子、牛驮来，又带了许多的牛和羊来，因为在以色列中充满了欢乐。Moreover they that were nigh them, even unto Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, and meat, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for there was joy in Israel.
