参孙
以色列人又行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，耶和华将他们交在非利士人手中四十年。
参孙出生
And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.
2那时，有一个但支派的琐拉人，名叫玛挪亚。他的妻子不怀孕，不生育。And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not.
3耶和华的使者向那妇人显现，对她说：“看哪，以前你不怀孕，不生育，如今你必怀孕生一个儿子。And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.
4现在你要谨慎，清酒烈酒都不可喝，任何不洁之物都不可吃，Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing:
5看哪，你必怀孕，生一个儿子。不可用剃刀剃他的头，因为这孩子一出母胎就归给神作拿细耳人。他必开始拯救以色列脱离非利士人的手。”For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.
6那妇人来对丈夫说：“有一个神人到我这里来，他的容貌如神使者的容貌，非常可畏。我没有问他从哪里来，他也没有把他的名字告诉我。Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came unto me, and his countenance was like the countenance of an angel of God, very terrible: but I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name:
7他对我说：‘看哪，你要怀孕，生一个儿子 。现在，清酒烈酒都不可喝，任何不洁之物都不可吃，因为这孩子从出母胎一直到死的那一天，要归给神作拿细耳人。’”But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death.
8玛挪亚祈求耶和华说：“主啊，求你再差遣那神人到我们这里来，指示我们对这将要生的孩子该怎样作。”Then Manoah intreated the LORD, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.
9神垂听了玛挪亚的声音。那妇人坐在田间的时候，神的使者又到她那里，但是她的丈夫玛挪亚没有同她在一起。And God hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of God came again unto the woman as she sat in the field: but Manoah her husband was not with her.
10妇人急忙跑去告诉丈夫，对他说：“看哪，那日到我这里来的人又向我显现了。”And the woman made haste, and ran, and shewed her husband, and said unto him, Behold, the man hath appeared unto me, that came unto me the other day.
11玛挪亚起来，跟随他的妻子来到那人那里，对他说：“你就是跟这妇人说话的那个人吗？”他说：“是我。”And Manoah arose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said unto him, Art thou the man that spakest unto the woman? And he said, I am.
12玛挪亚说：“现在，愿你的话应验！这孩子该如何管教呢？他当做什么呢？”And Manoah said, Now let thy words come to pass. How shall we order the child, and how shall we do unto him?
13耶和华的使者对玛挪亚说：“我告诉这妇人的一切事，她都要遵守。And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware.
14葡萄树所结的不可吃，清酒烈酒都不可喝，任何不洁之物也不可吃。凡我所吩咐的，她都当遵守。”She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her observe.
15玛挪亚对耶和华的使者说：“请容许我们留你下来，好为你预备一只小山羊。”And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for thee.
16耶和华的使者对玛挪亚说：“你虽然留我，我却不吃你的食物。你若预备燔祭，就当献给耶和华。”因玛挪亚不知道他是耶和华的使者。And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt offer a burnt offering, thou must offer it unto the LORD. For Manoah knew not that he was an angel of the LORD.
17玛挪亚对耶和华的使者说：“请问大名？好让我们在你的话应验的时候尊敬你。”And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour?
18耶和华的使者对他说：“你何必问我的名字呢？我的名字是奇妙的。”And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret?
19玛挪亚取一只小山羊和素祭，在磐石上献给耶和华。他行奇妙的事，玛挪亚和他的妻子观看，So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the LORD: and the angel did wonderously; and Manoah and his wife looked on.
20火焰从坛上往上升，耶和华的使者也在坛上的火焰中升上去了。玛挪亚和他的妻子看见，就脸伏于地。For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground.
21耶和华的使者不再向玛挪亚和他的妻子显现了。那时，玛挪亚才知道他是耶和华的使者。But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD.
22玛挪亚对他的妻子说：“我们一定会死，因为我们看见了神。”And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.
23他的妻子却对他说：“耶和华若有意要我们死，就不会从我们手中接受燔祭和素祭，不会将这一切事指示我们，这时也不会让我们听到这话。”But his wife said unto him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a meat offering at our hands, neither would he have shewed us all these things, nor would as at this time have told us such things as these.
24后来妇人生了一个儿子，给他起名叫参孙。孩子渐渐长大，耶和华赐福给他。And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him.
25在琐拉和以实陶之间的玛哈尼．但☛“玛哈尼．但”意思是“但支派的营中”。，耶和华的灵开始感动参孙。And the Spirit of the LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.
