以色列人准备打仗
于是以色列众人从但到别是巴，以及从基列地出来，如同一人，聚集在米斯巴耶和华那里。
Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was gathered together as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, unto the LORD in Mizpeh.
2以色列各支派中众百姓的领袖，都站在神百姓的会中。拿刀的步兵共有四十万。And the chief of all the people, even of all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen that drew sword.
3便雅悯人听见以色列人上了米斯巴。以色列人说：“请说，这恶事是怎么发生的呢？”(Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpeh.) Then said the children of Israel, Tell us, how was this wickedness?
4那利未人，就是被害妇人的丈夫，回答说：“我和我的妾来到便雅悯的基比亚住宿。And the Levite, the husband of the woman that was slain, answered and said, I came into Gibeah that belongeth to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to lodge.
5基比亚人夜间起来攻击我，包围我住的屋子。他们想要杀我，并把我的妾污辱致死。And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and beset the house round about upon me by night, and thought to have slain me: and my concubine have they forced, that she is dead.
6我把我的妾切成块，分送到以色列得为业的全地，因为基比亚人在以色列中做了邪恶可耻的事。And I took my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the country of the inheritance of Israel: for they have committed lewdness and folly in Israel.
7看哪，你们大家，以色列人哪，在此提出你们的建议和对策吧！”Behold, ye are all children of Israel; give here your advice and counsel.
8众百姓都起来如同一人，说：“我们谁也不回自己的帐棚，谁也不回自己的家去！And all the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any of us go to his tent, neither will we any of us turn into his house.
9现在，我们要这样对付基比亚，照所抽的签去攻打他们。But now this shall be the thing which we will do to Gibeah; we will go up by lot against it;
10我们要在以色列各支派中，一百人选十人，一千人选一百人，一万人选一千人，为那到便雅悯的迦巴去的士兵运粮；因为基比亚在以色列中行了可耻的事。”And we will take ten men of an hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and an hundred of a thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand, to fetch victual for the people, that they may do, when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the folly that they have wrought in Israel.
11于是以色列众人彼此联合如同一人，聚集攻击那城。So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together as one man.
12以色列众支派派人去，问便雅悯支派的各家说：“你们中间怎么做了这样的恶事呢？And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, What wickedness is this that is done among you?
13现在你们要把基比亚的那些无赖交出来，我们好处死他们，从以色列中除掉这恶。”便雅悯人却不肯听从他们弟兄以色列人的话。Now therefore deliver us the men, the children of Belial, which are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel:
14便雅悯人从各城聚集到基比亚，出来要与以色列人打仗。But the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the cities unto Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.
15那日，便雅悯人从各城里征召了拿刀的士兵，共有二万六千，另外还从基比亚居民中征召七百个精兵。And the children of Benjamin were numbered at that time out of the cities twenty and six thousand men that drew sword, beside the inhabitants of Gibeah, which were numbered seven hundred chosen men.
16全军中有特选的七百个精兵，都是惯用左手的，个个能用机弦甩石，毫发不差。Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded; every one could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss.
17以色列人，除了便雅悯之外，共征召了四十万拿刀的，个个都是战士。以色列人击败便雅悯人
And the men of Israel, beside Benjamin, were numbered four hundred thousand men that drew sword: all these were men of war.
18以色列人起来，上到伯特利去求问神说：“我们中间谁当首先上去与便雅悯人争战呢？”耶和华说：“犹大先上去。”And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah shall go up first.
19以色列人早晨起来，对着基比亚安营。And the children of Israel rose up in the morning, and encamped against Gibeah.
20以色列人出来与便雅悯人打仗，以色列人在基比亚对着他们摆阵。And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel put themselves in array to fight against them at Gibeah.
21便雅悯人从基比亚出来，当日把以色列中二万二千人杀倒在地。And the children of Benjamin came forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites that day twenty and two thousand men.
22以色列人的士兵鼓起勇气，在第一日摆阵的地方又摆阵。And the people the men of Israel encouraged themselves, and set their battle again in array in the place where they put themselves in array the first day.
23因以色列人上去，在耶和华面前哀哭，直到晚上。他们求问耶和华说：“我可以再出兵与我弟兄便雅悯人打仗吗？”耶和华说：“可以上去攻打他们。”(And the children of Israel went up and wept before the LORD until even, and asked counsel of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up again to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother? And the LORD said, Go up against him.)
24第二日，以色列人就上前攻击便雅悯人。And the children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin the second day.
25便雅悯人也在第二日从基比亚出来与他们交战，又把以色列人一万八千个拿刀的士兵杀倒在地。And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword.
26以色列众人和全体士兵上到伯特利，坐在耶和华面前哭泣。那日，他们禁食直到晚上，又在耶和华面前献燔祭和平安祭。Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came unto the house of God, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted that day until even, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.
27以色列人去求问耶和华；那时，神的约柜在那里。And the children of Israel enquired of the LORD, (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,
28那时，亚伦的孙子，以利亚撒的儿子非尼哈侍立在约柜前。他们说：“我可以再出去与我弟兄便雅悯人打仗吗？还是停战呢？”耶和华说：“你们可以上去，因为明日我必把他交在你手中。”And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days,) saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And the LORD said, Go up; for to morrow I will deliver them into thine hand.
29以色列在基比亚的四围设下埋伏。And Israel set liers in wait round about Gibeah.
30第三日，以色列人又上去攻击便雅悯人，在基比亚前摆阵，与前两次一样。And the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and put themselves in array against Gibeah, as at other times.
31便雅悯人也出来迎敌，就被引诱出城外。在田间的两条路上，一条通往伯特利，一条通往基比亚，他们像前两次一样，动手杀了约三十个以色列人。And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to smite of the people, and kill, as at other times, in the highways, of which one goeth up to the house of God, and the other to Gibeah in the field, about thirty men of Israel.
32便雅悯人说：“他们仍像以前一样败在我们面前。”但以色列人说：“让我们逃跑，引诱他们离开城到路上来。”And the children of Benjamin said, They are smitten down before us, as at the first. But the children of Israel said, Let us flee, and draw them from the city unto the highways.
33以色列众人都起来，在巴力．他玛摆阵，以色列的伏兵从马利．迦巴埋伏的地方冲上前去。And all the men of Israel rose up out of their place, and put themselves in array at Baaltamar: and the liers in wait of Israel came forth out of their places, even out of the meadows of Gibeah.
34全以色列中的一万精兵来到基比亚前，战争十分激烈。便雅悯人却不知道灾祸临近了。And there came against Gibeah ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and the battle was sore: but they knew not that evil was near them.
35耶和华在以色列面前击打便雅悯。那日，以色列人歼灭二万五千一百个便雅悯人，都是拿刀的士兵。以色列人得胜
And the LORD smote Benjamin before Israel: and the children of Israel destroyed of the Benjamites that day twenty and five thousand and an hundred men: all these drew the sword.
36便雅悯人看到自己战败了。以色列人因为信任在基比亚前所设的伏兵，就在便雅悯人面前假装撤退。So the children of Benjamin saw that they were smitten: for the men of Israel gave place to the Benjamites, because they trusted unto the liers in wait which they had set beside Gibeah.
37伏兵迅速闯进基比亚；他们继续前进，用刀杀死全城的人。And the liers in wait hasted, and rushed upon Gibeah; and the liers in wait drew themselves along, and smote all the city with the edge of the sword.
38以色列人预先与伏兵约定在城内放火，以上腾的烟为信号。Now there was an appointed sign between the men of Israel and the liers in wait, that they should make a great flame with smoke rise up out of the city.
39以色列人从阵上撤退，便雅悯人动手杀死以色列人，约有三十个，就说：“他们仍像以前一样败在我们面前。”And when the men of Israel retired in the battle, Benjamin began to smite and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons: for they said, Surely they are smitten down before us, as in the first battle.
40当烟如柱一般从城中上腾的时候，便雅悯人回头，看哪，全城已经浓烟冲天了。But when the flame began to arise up out of the city with a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them, and, behold, the flame of the city ascended up to heaven.
41以色列人又转身回来，便雅悯人就很惊惶，因为看见灾祸临到自己了。And when the men of Israel turned again, the men of Benjamin were amazed: for they saw that evil was come upon them.
42他们在以色列人面前转身往旷野逃跑，战况对他们不利，那从城里出来的也去夹攻，杀灭他们。Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel unto the way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and them which came out of the cities they destroyed in the midst of them.
43以色列人围攻便雅悯人，追赶他们，在他们歇脚之处，直到向日出方向的基比亚的对面，践踏他们。Thus they inclosed the Benjamites round about, and chased them, and trode them down with ease over against Gibeah toward the sunrising.
44便雅悯人倒下的有一万八千名，这些全都是勇士。And there fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these were men of valour.
45其余的人转身往旷野逃跑，到临门岩去。以色列人在路上杀了五千人，如拾穗一样，紧追他们直到基顿，又杀了二千人。And they turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men; and pursued hard after them unto Gidom, and slew two thousand men of them.
46那日便雅悯人倒下的有二万五千名，这些全都是拿刀的勇士。So that all which fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand men that drew the sword; all these were men of valour.
47有六百人转身往旷野逃跑，到了临门岩，在临门岩住了四个月。But six hundred men turned and fled to the wilderness unto the rock Rimmon, and abode in the rock Rimmon four months.
48以色列人又转回去攻击便雅悯人，凡经过的各城，其中的人和牲畜都用刀杀了，又放火烧了所经过的一切城镇。And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, as well the men of every city, as the beast, and all that came to hand: also they set on fire all the cities that they came to.
