参孙击败非利士人
过了些日子，在割麦子的时候，参孙带着一只小山羊去探望他的妻子，说：“我要进内室到我妻子那里。”他岳父不许他进去。
But it came to pass within a while after, in the time of wheat harvest, that Samson visited his wife with a kid; and he said, I will go in to my wife into the chamber. But her father would not suffer him to go in.
2他岳父说：“我以为你极其恨她，因此我把她给了你的同伴。她妹妹不是比她更美丽吗？你可以娶来代替她！”And her father said, I verily thought that thou hadst utterly hated her; therefore I gave her to thy companion: is not her younger sister fairer than she? take her, I pray thee, instead of her.
3参孙对他们说：“这一次我若加害非利士人，就不算是我的错了。”And Samson said concerning them, Now shall I be more blameless than the Philistines, though I do them a displeasure.
4于是参孙去捉了三百只狐狸，把它们的尾巴一对一对地绑住，再将火把绑在两条尾巴中间。And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took firebrands, and turned tail to tail, and put a firebrand in the midst between two tails.
5他点着火把，把狐狸放进非利士人直立的庄稼，把堆积的禾捆和直立的庄稼，葡萄园、橄榄园全都烧了。And when he had set the brands on fire, he let them go into the standing corn of the Philistines, and burnt up both the shocks, and also the standing corn, with the vineyards and olives.
6非利士人说：“这事是谁做的呢？”有人说：“是亭拿人的女婿参孙做的，因为他岳父把他的妻子给了他的同伴。”于是非利士人上去，用火烧了女子和她的父亲。Then the Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son in law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire.
7参孙对他们说：“你们既然这么做，我必向你们报仇才肯罢休。”And Samson said unto them, Though ye have done this, yet will I be avenged of you, and after that I will cease.
8参孙狠狠击杀他们，把他们连腿带腰都砍了。过后，他就下去，住在以坦岩的石洞里。And he smote them hip and thigh with a great slaughter: and he went down and dwelt in the top of the rock Etam.
9非利士人上去，安营在犹大，侵犯利希。Then the Philistines went up, and pitched in Judah, and spread themselves in Lehi.
10犹大人说：“你们为何上来攻击我们呢？”他们说：“我们上来是要捆绑参孙，照他向我们所做的对待他。”And the men of Judah said, Why are ye come up against us? And they answered, To bind Samson are we come up, to do to him as he hath done to us.
11于是，三千犹大人下到以坦岩的石洞里，对参孙说：“非利士人辖制我们，你不知道吗？你向我们做的是什么事呢？”他说：“他们向我怎样做，我也要向他们怎样做。”Then three thousand men of Judah went to the top of the rock Etam, and said to Samson, Knowest thou not that the Philistines are rulers over us? what is this that thou hast done unto us? And he said unto them, As they did unto me, so have I done unto them.
12犹大人对他说：“我们下来是要捆绑你，把你交在非利士人手中。”参孙说：“你们要向我起誓，你们自己不杀害我。”And they said unto him, We are come down to bind thee, that we may deliver thee into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said unto them, Swear unto me, that ye will not fall upon me yourselves.
13他们说：“我们绝不杀你，只把你捆绑，交在非利士人手中。”于是他们用两条新绳绑住参孙，把他从以坦岩带上去。And they spake unto him, saying, No; but we will bind thee fast, and deliver thee into their hand: but surely we will not kill thee. And they bound him with two new cords, and brought him up from the rock.
14参孙到了利希，非利士人对着他喊叫。耶和华的灵大大感动参孙，他手臂上的绳子就像着火的麻一样，绑他的绳子从他手上脱落下来。And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.
15他找到一块未干的驴腮骨，就伸手拾起来，用它杀了一千人。And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith.
16参孙说： “用驴腮骨， 一堆又一堆☛“一堆又一堆”：七十士译本是“我把他们完全除掉”。； 用驴腮骨， 我杀了一千人。”And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.
17说完这话，就把那腮骨从手里抛出去。因此，那地叫作拉末．利希☛“拉末．利希”意思是“腮骨冈”。。And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the jawbone out of his hand, and called that place Ramathlehi.
18参孙非常口渴，就求告耶和华说：“你既藉仆人的手施行这么大的拯救，现在我要渴死，落在未受割礼的人手中吗？”And he was sore athirst, and called on the LORD, and said, Thou hast given this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?
19神就使利希的洼地裂开，从中涌出水来。参孙喝了，精神恢复。因此那泉名叫隐．哈歌利☛“隐．哈歌利”意思是“呼求者的水泉”。，直到今日它仍在利希。But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name thereof Enhakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day.
20在非利士人辖制的时候，参孙作以色列的士师二十年。And he judged Israel in the days of the Philistines twenty years.
