女继承人的结婚条例
约瑟子孙的宗族，玛拿西的孙子，玛吉的儿子基列，他父系宗族的领袖来到摩西和作领袖的以色列众父系家长面前，说：
And the chief fathers of the families of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel:
2“耶和华曾吩咐我主抽签分地给以色列人为业，我主也遵照耶和华的吩咐，把我们兄弟西罗非哈的产业给他的女儿。And they said, The LORD commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel: and my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother unto his daughters.
3她们若嫁给以色列别个支派的人，必拿走我们祖宗所遗留的产业，加在她们丈夫支派的产业上。这样，我们抽签所得的产业就要减少了。And if they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be put to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall it be taken from the lot of our inheritance.
4到了以色列人的禧年，她们的产业就必加在她们丈夫支派的产业上。这样，我们祖宗支派的产业就要减少了。”And when the jubile of the children of Israel shall be, then shall their inheritance be put unto the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.
5摩西照耶和华的指示吩咐以色列人说：“约瑟子孙支派的人说得有理。And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.
6关于西罗非哈的女儿们，这是耶和华吩咐的话说：‘她们可以随意嫁人，只是必须嫁给同宗，她们父亲支派的人。This is the thing which the LORD doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry.
7这样，以色列人的产业就不会从这支派转到另一个支派，因为以色列人要各自守住祖宗支派的产业。So shall not the inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe: for every one of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.
8凡在以色列支派中得了产业的女儿，必须嫁给同宗，她们父亲支派的人，好使以色列人各自承受他们祖宗的产业。And every daughter, that possesseth an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers.
9产业不可从一个支派转到另一个支派，因为以色列支派的人要各自守住自己的产业。’”Neither shall the inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe; but every one of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep himself to his own inheritance.
10耶和华怎样吩咐摩西，西罗非哈的女儿就照样做。Even as the LORD commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad:
11西罗非哈的女儿玛拉、得撒、曷拉、密迦、挪阿都嫁给她们叔伯的儿子。For Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married unto their father's brothers' sons:
12她们嫁给了约瑟儿子玛拿西子孙宗族的人；她们的产业保留在同宗，她们父亲的支派中。And they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.
13这是耶和华在约旦河边，耶利哥对面的摩押平原，藉着摩西吩咐以色列人的命令和典章。These are the commandments and the judgments, which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses unto the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.
