约旦河东的支派
（申3．12－22）
吕便子孙和迦得子孙的牲畜极其众多。他们看到雅谢地和基列地；看哪，这是可牧放牲畜的地方。
Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of cattle: and when they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, that, behold, the place was a place for cattle;
2吕便子孙和迦得子孙就到摩西和以利亚撒祭司，以及会众的领袖那里，说：The children of Gad and the children of Reuben came and spake unto Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and unto the princes of the congregation, saying,
3“亚他录、底本、雅谢、宁拉、希实本、以利亚利、示班、尼波、比稳，Ataroth, and Dibon, and Jazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Shebam, and Nebo, and Beon,
4就是耶和华在以色列会众面前所攻取之地，是可牧放牲畜之地，而你的仆人也有牲畜。”Even the country which the LORD smote before the congregation of Israel, is a land for cattle, and thy servants have cattle:
5又说：“我们若在你眼前蒙恩，求你把这地给我们为业；不要领我们过约旦河。”Wherefore, said they, if we have found grace in thy sight, let this land be given unto thy servants for a possession, and bring us not over Jordan.
6摩西对迦得子孙和吕便子孙说：“难道你们的弟兄去打仗，你们却留在这里吗？And Moses said unto the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall ye sit here?
7你们为什么使以色列人灰心，不渡过去，进入耶和华所赐给他们的那地呢？And wherefore discourage ye the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD hath given them?
8我从加低斯．巴尼亚派你们的父执之辈去窥探那地时，他们就曾这样做过。Thus did your fathers, when I sent them from Kadeshbarnea to see the land.
9他们上到以实各谷，窥探了那地之后，竟然使以色列人灰心，不愿进入耶和华所赐给他们的地。For when they went up unto the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which the LORD had given them.
10当日，耶和华的怒气发作，起誓说：And the LORD's anger was kindled the same time, and he sware, saying,
11‘凡从埃及上来二十岁以上的人，断不得看见我对亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓应许之地，因为他们没有专心跟从我；Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:
12惟有基尼洗族耶孚尼的儿子迦勒，还有嫩的儿子约书亚可以看见，因为他们专心跟从耶和华。’Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua the son of Nun: for they have wholly followed the LORD.
13耶和华的怒气向以色列发作，使他们在旷野飘流四十年，直到在耶和华眼前作恶的那一代都消灭了。And the LORD's anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed.
14看哪，你们这一伙罪人，竟然接续你们父执之辈，再增加耶和华对以色列所发的怒气。And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers' stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of the LORD toward Israel.
15你们若转离不跟从他，他要再把以色列人撇在旷野；这样，你们就使这众百姓灭亡了。”For if ye turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and ye shall destroy all this people.
16他们挨近摩西，说：“我们要在这里为牲畜筑圈，为孩童建城。And they came near unto him, and said, We will build sheepfolds here for our cattle, and cities for our little ones:
17我们自己却要带兵器，急速行在以色列人的前面，领他们直到他们的地方。我们的孩童可以留在坚固的城内，躲避当地的居民。But we ourselves will go ready armed before the children of Israel, until we have brought them unto their place: and our little ones shall dwell in the fenced cities because of the inhabitants of the land.
18我们必不回自己的家，直等到以色列人各自承受了自己的产业。We will not return unto our houses, until the children of Israel have inherited every man his inheritance.
19我们不和他们在约旦河那边分产业，因为我们的产业是在约旦河的东边。”For we will not inherit with them on yonder side Jordan, or forward; because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side Jordan eastward.
20摩西对他们说：“你们若要这么做，若要在耶和华面前带着兵器出去打仗，And Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if ye will go armed before the LORD to war,
21你们中间所有带兵器的人都要在耶和华面前过约旦河，直到耶和华把仇敌从他面前赶出去。And will go all of you armed over Jordan before the LORD, until he hath driven out his enemies from before him,
22那地在耶和华面前被征服以后，你们方可回来。这样，你们向耶和华和以色列才算为无罪，这地也必在耶和华面前归你们为业。And the land be subdued before the LORD: then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless before the LORD, and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the LORD.
23倘若你们不这样做，看哪，你们就得罪了耶和华，当知道你们的罪必找上你们。But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.
24如今你们可以为孩童建城，为羊群筑圈，但你们口所讲出来的话，必须实践。”Build you cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do that which hath proceeded out of your mouth.
25迦得子孙和吕便子孙对摩西说：“你的仆人们必照我主所吩咐的去做。And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben spake unto Moses, saying, Thy servants will do as my lord commandeth.
26我们的孩子、妻子、牛羊和所有的牲畜都要留在基列的各城。Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall be there in the cities of Gilead:
27但你的仆人，凡能带兵器上战场的，都要照我主所说的话，在耶和华面前渡过去打仗。”But thy servants will pass over, every man armed for war, before the LORD to battle, as my lord saith.
28于是，摩西为他们吩咐以利亚撒祭司和嫩的儿子约书亚，以及以色列人各支派父系的领袖。So concerning them Moses commanded Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel:
29摩西对他们说：“迦得子孙和吕便子孙，凡带兵器在耶和华面前去打仗的，若与你们一同渡过约旦河，那地被你们征服以后，你们就要把基列地给他们为业。And Moses said unto them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over Jordan, every man armed to battle, before the LORD, and the land shall be subdued before you; then ye shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession:
30倘若他们不带兵器与你们一同渡过去，他们就要在迦南地你们中间得产业。”But if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan.
31迦得子孙和吕便子孙回答说：“耶和华怎样吩咐仆人，我们就必照样做。And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, As the LORD hath said unto thy servants, so will we do.
32我们自己必带着兵器，在耶和华面前渡过去，进入迦南地，好使我们在约旦河这边得到我们的产业。”We will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, that the possession of our inheritance on this side Jordan may be ours.
33摩西把亚摩利王西宏的国和巴珊王噩的国，就是他们的国土和周围的城镇，都给了迦得子孙和吕便子孙，以及约瑟的儿子玛拿西半个支派。And Moses gave unto them, even to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and unto half the tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, with the cities thereof in the coasts, even the cities of the country round about.
34迦得子孙建造了底本、亚他录、亚罗珥、And the children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,
35亚他录．朔反、雅谢、约比哈、And Atroth, Shophan, and Jaazer, and Jogbehah,
36伯．宁拉、伯．哈兰，都是坚固城，并筑有羊圈。And Bethnimrah, and Bethharan, fenced cities: and folds for sheep.
37吕便子孙建造了希实本、以利亚利、基列亭、And the children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kirjathaim,
38尼波、巴力．免（名字是改了的）、西比玛；他们给建造的城另起别名。And Nebo, and Baalmeon, (their names being changed,) and Shibmah: and gave other names unto the cities which they builded.
39玛拿西的儿子玛吉的子孙往基列去，占了那地，赶出那里的亚摩利人。And the children of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead, and took it, and dispossessed the Amorite which was in it.
40摩西把基列赐给玛拿西的儿子玛吉，他就住在那里。And Moses gave Gilead unto Machir the son of Manasseh; and he dwelt therein.
41玛拿西的子孙睚珥占了基列的城镇，就称这些城镇为哈倭特．睚珥。And Jair the son of Manasseh went and took the small towns thereof, and called them Havothjair.
42挪巴占了基纳和基纳的乡镇，就照自己的名字称基纳为挪巴。And Nobah went and took Kenath, and the villages thereof, and called it Nobah, after his own name.
