战胜迦南人
住尼革夫的迦南人的亚拉得王，听说以色列从亚他林路来，就和以色列交战，掳去他们一些人。
And when king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelt in the south, heard tell that Israel came by the way of the spies; then he fought against Israel, and took some of them prisoners.
2以色列向耶和华许愿说：“你若把这百姓真的交在我手中，我就把他们的城镇彻底毁灭。”And Israel vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou wilt indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.
3耶和华垂听了以色列的声音，把迦南人交出来。以色列就把迦南人和他们的城镇彻底毁灭。因此，那地方名叫何珥玛 ☛“何珥玛”意思是“毁灭”。。铜制的蛇
And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: and he called the name of the place Hormah.
4他们从何珥山起行，绕过以东地往红海那条路走。在路上，百姓心中烦躁。And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.
5百姓向神和摩西发怨言，说：“你们为什么把我们从埃及领上来☛“你们...领上来”：七十士译本是“你为什么把我们从埃及领出来”。，使我们死在旷野呢？这里没有粮食，没有水，我们厌恶这淡而无味的食物。”And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.
6耶和华派火蛇进入百姓当中去咬他们，于是以色列中死了许多百姓。And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
7百姓到摩西那里，说：“我们有罪了，因为我们向耶和华和你发怨言。求你向耶和华祷告，叫蛇离开我们。”于是摩西为百姓祷告。Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.
8耶和华对摩西说：“你要造一条火蛇，挂在杆子上。凡被咬的，一望这蛇就必存活。”And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
9摩西就造了一条铜蛇，挂在杆子上。凡被蛇咬的，一望这铜蛇就活了。从何珥山到摩押谷
And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
10以色列人起行，安营在阿伯。And the children of Israel set forward, and pitched in Oboth.
11又从阿伯起行，安营在以耶．亚巴琳，在摩押对面的旷野，向日出的方向。And they journeyed from Oboth, and pitched at Ijeabarim, in the wilderness which is before Moab, toward the sunrising.
12又从那里起行，安营在撒烈谷。From thence they removed, and pitched in the valley of Zared.
13从那里再起行，安营在亚嫩河的另一边。这亚嫩河在旷野，从亚摩利人的境内流出来；亚嫩河是摩押的边界，在摩押和亚摩利人之间。From thence they removed, and pitched on the other side of Arnon, which is in the wilderness that cometh out of the coasts of the Amorites: for Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites.
14所以《耶和华的战记》中提到： “苏法的哇哈伯， 亚嫩河谷，Wherefore it is said in the book of the wars of the LORD, What he did in the Red sea, and in the brooks of Arnon,
15以及亚珥地区众河床的斜坡， 都靠近摩押的边境。”And at the stream of the brooks that goeth down to the dwelling of Ar, and lieth upon the border of Moab.
16以色列人从那里起行，到了比珥 ☛“比珥”意思是“井”。。从前耶和华对摩西说：“召集百姓，我要给他们水”，说的就是这井。And from thence they went to Beer: that is the well whereof the LORD spake unto Moses, Gather the people together, and I will give them water.
17当时，以色列人唱这首歌： “井啊，涌出水来！ 你们要向它歌唱！Then Israel sang this song, Spring up, O well; sing ye unto it:
18这井是领袖用权杖所挖， 是百姓中的贵族用手杖所掘。”以色列人从旷野往玛他拿去，The princes digged the well, the nobles of the people digged it, by the direction of the lawgiver, with their staves. And from the wilderness they went to Mattanah:
19从玛他拿到拿哈列，从拿哈列到巴末，And from Mattanah to Nahaliel: and from Nahaliel to Bamoth:
20从巴末到摩押地的谷，又到那可以瞭望旷野的毗斯迦山顶。战胜亚摩利王和巴珊王
（申2．26－3．11）
And from Bamoth in the valley, that is in the country of Moab, to the top of Pisgah, which looketh toward Jeshimon.
21以色列差遣使者到亚摩利人的王西宏那里，说：And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,
22“求你让我们穿越你的地；我们不岔进田间和葡萄园，也不喝井里的水，只走王的大道，直到过了你的边界。”Let me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king's high way, until we be past thy borders.
23但西宏不让以色列人穿越他的境内，就召集他的众百姓出到旷野，要攻击以色列，到了雅杂与以色列交战。And Sihon would not suffer Israel to pass through his border: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness: and he came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel.
24以色列人用刀杀了他，占领了他的地，从亚嫩河到雅博河，直到亚扪人的边界，因为亚扪人的边防坚固。And Israel smote him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from Arnon unto Jabbok, even unto the children of Ammon: for the border of the children of Ammon was strong.
25以色列人夺取这里所有的城镇，就住在亚摩利人的城镇中，包括希实本和所属的一切乡镇☛“乡镇”：原文直译“女子们”；本卷书下同。。And Israel took all these cities: and Israel dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all the villages thereof.
26希实本是亚摩利王西宏的首都；西宏曾与先前的摩押王交战，从他手中夺取了他所有的地，直到亚嫩河。For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even unto Arnon.
27所以那些作诗歌的说： 你们到希实本来吧； 愿西宏的城被修造建立。Wherefore they that speak in proverbs say, Come into Heshbon, let the city of Sihon be built and prepared:
28因为有火从希实本发出， 有火焰从西宏的城冒出， 烧毁了摩押的亚珥， 亚嫩河丘坛的主☛“亚嫩河丘坛的主”：原文另译“亚嫩河丘坛的诸巴力”；七十士译本是“亚嫩河的柱像”。。For there is a fire gone out of Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon: it hath consumed Ar of Moab, and the lords of the high places of Arnon.
29摩押啊，你有祸了！ 基抹的百姓啊，你们灭亡了！ 基抹的男子逃亡， 女子被掳， 交给了亚摩利王西宏。Woe to thee, Moab! thou art undone, O people of Chemosh: he hath given his sons that escaped, and his daughters, into captivity unto Sihon king of the Amorites.
30我们射了他们； 希实本直到底本尽都毁灭☛“我们...毁灭”：七十士译本是“他们的后代灭亡，从希实本直到底本”。。 我们劫掠，直到挪法； 这挪法直延到米底巴。We have shot at them; Heshbon is perished even unto Dibon, and we have laid them waste even unto Nophah, which reacheth unto Medeba.
31这样，以色列人就住在亚摩利人的地。Thus Israel dwelt in the land of the Amorites.
32摩西差派人去窥探雅谢；以色列人占领了雅谢附近的乡村，赶出那里的亚摩利人。And Moses sent to spy out Jaazer, and they took the villages thereof, and drove out the Amorites that were there.
33后来，以色列人转回，往上巴珊的路去。巴珊王噩率领他的众百姓出来，在以得来与他们交战。And they turned and went up by the way of Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan went out against them, he, and all his people, to the battle at Edrei.
34耶和华对摩西说：“不要怕他！因为我已将他和他的众百姓，以及他的地都交在你手中。你要待他如同待住在希实本的亚摩利王西宏一样。”And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.
35于是他们杀了巴珊王和他的众子，以及他的众百姓，没有留下一个幸存者，并且占领了他的地。So they smote him, and his sons, and all his people, until there was none left him alive: and they possessed his land.
