从北方来的敌人
约西亚的儿子犹大王约雅敬第四年，就是巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒的元年，耶和华论犹大众百姓的话临到耶利米。
The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;
2耶利米先知就将这些话对犹大众百姓和耶路撒冷所有的居民说：The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,
3“从亚们的儿子犹大王约西亚十三年直到今日，在这二十三年中，常有耶和华的话临到我；我也一再对你们传讲，只是你们不听从。From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.
4耶和华也曾一再差遣他的仆人众先知到你们这里来，只是你们不听从，也不侧耳而听，And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
5说：‘你们各人当回转离开恶道和恶行，就可居住耶和华从古时所赐给你们和你们祖先之地，直到永远。They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:
6不可随从别神，事奉敬拜它们，以你们手所做的惹我发怒；这样，我就不会降灾祸给你们。And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.
7然而你们不听从我，竟以手所做的惹我发怒，害了自己。这是耶和华说的。’”Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.
8所以万军之耶和华如此说：“因为你们不听我的话，Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,
9看哪，我必召北方的众族和我仆人巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒前来攻击这地和这地的居民，并四围所有的国民。我要将他们尽行灭绝，以致他们令人惊骇、嗤笑，并且永久荒凉☛“永久荒凉”：七十士译本是“成了永久的羞辱”。。这是耶和华说的。Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.
10我又要止息他们欢喜和快乐的声音、新郎和新娘的声音、推磨的声音和灯的亮光。Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.
11这全地必然荒凉，令人惊骇。这些国家要服事巴比伦王七十年。And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
12七十年满了以后，我必惩罚巴比伦王和那国，并迦勒底人之地，因他们的罪孽使那地永远荒凉。这是耶和华说的。And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.
13我也必使我向那地所说的话，就是所有记在这书上，耶利米向这些国家说的预言，都临到那地。And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.
14因为必有许多国家和大君王使迦勒底人作奴仆；我也必照他们的行为，按他们手所做的报应他们。”神审判列国
For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.
15耶和华－以色列的神对我如此说：“你从我手中拿这杯愤怒的酒，给我所差遣你去的各国的百姓喝。For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
16他们喝了就要东倒西歪，并要发狂，因我使刀剑临到他们中间。”And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
17我就从耶和华的手中拿了这杯，给耶和华所差遣我去的各国的百姓喝，Then took I the cup at the LORD's hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:
18其中有耶路撒冷和犹大的城镇，并耶路撒冷的君王与领袖；因此这城镇荒凉，令人惊骇、嗤笑、诅咒，正如今日一样。To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;
19又有埃及王法老和他的臣仆、官长，以及他的众百姓，Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;
20并混居的各族和乌斯地的诸王，与非利士人之地的诸王，包括亚实基伦、迦萨、以革伦，以及亚实突剩下的人，And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,
21还有以东、摩押、亚扪人，Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,
22推罗的诸王、西顿的诸王、海的那边沿海地区的诸王，And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,
23底但、提玛、布斯，和所有剃鬓发的人，Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,
24阿拉伯的诸王、住旷野混居各族的诸王、And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,
25心利的诸王、以拦的诸王、玛代的诸王、And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,
26北方远近的诸王，以及天下、地面上的万国也一个一个都喝了，以后示沙克☛“示沙克”就是“巴比伦”。王也要喝。And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
27“你要对他们说：‘万军之耶和华－以色列的神如此说：你们要喝，且要喝醉，要呕吐，且要跌倒，不再起来，都因我使刀剑临到你们中间。’Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.
28“他们若不肯从你手中拿这杯来喝，你就要对他们说：‘万军之耶和华如此说：你们一定要喝！And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.
29看哪，我既从称为我名下的城起首施行灾祸，你们能免去惩罚吗？你们必不能免，因为我要命刀剑临到地上所有的居民。这是万军之耶和华说的。’For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.
30“所以你要向他们预言这一切的话，对他们说： ‘耶和华从高天吼叫， 从圣所发出声音， 向自己的羊群大声吼叫； 他要向地上所有的居民呐喊， 像踹葡萄的人一样。Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31必有响声达到地极， 因为耶和华与列国争辩。 凡有血肉之躯的，他必审问； 至于恶人，他必交给刀剑。 这是耶和华说的。’A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.
32“万军之耶和华如此说： 看哪，必有灾祸发出，从这国到那国， 并有大暴风从地极刮起。Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.
33“到那日，从地这边到地那边，都有耶和华所杀戮的人。必无人哀哭，不得收殓，不得埋葬，必在地面上成为粪土。And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.
34“牧人哪，你们当哀号，呼喊； 羊群的领导者啊，你们要在灰中翻滚； 因为你们被宰杀、被分散☛“被分散”是根据一些古卷；原文是“我打碎你们”。的日子已经来到。 你们要仆倒，好像珍贵的器皿打碎一样。Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.
35牧人无路可逃， 羊群的领导者也无法逃脱。And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.
36听啊，有牧人呼喊， 有羊群领导者哀号的声音， 因为耶和华摧毁他们的草场。A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.
37因耶和华猛烈的怒气， 平安的羊圈都被肃清。And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
38他像狮子离开洞穴， 他们的地因凶猛的怒气☛“凶猛的怒气”：有古卷和七十士译本是“残暴的刀剑”。 和他强烈的怒气，都变为荒凉。”He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.
