耶利米宣告神的约
耶和华的话临到耶利米，说：
The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
2“当听这约的话，告诉犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民，Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;
3对他们说，耶和华－以色列的神如此说：‘不听从这约之话的人必受诅咒。And say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel; Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant,
4这约是我将你们祖先从埃及地领出来，脱离铁炉的那日所吩咐他们的，说：你们要听从我的话，照我所吩咐的一切去做。这样，你们作我的子民，我也作你们的神，Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:
5我好坚定我向你们列祖所起的誓，赏赐他们流奶与蜜之地，正如今日一样。’”我就回应说：“耶和华啊，阿们！”That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O LORD.
6耶和华对我说：“你要在犹大城镇和耶路撒冷街市宣告这一切话，说：‘当听从遵行这约的话，Then the LORD said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.
7因为我将你们祖先从埃及地领出来的那日，直到今日，都一再切切告诫他们说：当听从我的话。For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice.
8他们却不听从，也不侧耳而听，竟随从自己顽梗的恶心去行。我就使这约中一切诅咒的话临到他们身上；这约是我吩咐他们遵行的，他们却不遵行。’”Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do: but they did them not.
9耶和华对我说：“在犹大人和耶路撒冷居民中有同谋背叛的事。And the LORD said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
10他们转去效法他们祖先的恶行，不肯听我的话，竟随从别神，事奉它们。以色列家和犹大家违背了我与他们列祖所立的约。They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.
11所以耶和华如此说：看哪，我必使灾祸临到他们，是他们不能逃脱的。他们向我哀求，我却不听。Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.
12那时，犹大城镇的人和耶路撒冷的居民要哀求他们烧香所供奉的神明；只是遭难的时候，这些神明一点也不能拯救他们。Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble.
13犹大啊，你神明的数目与你城镇的数目相等；你所筑可耻的坛，就是向巴力烧香的坛☛“你所筑...烧香的坛”：七十士译本是“你为巴力烧香所筑的坛”。，也与耶路撒冷街道的数目相等。For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal.
14“所以你不要为这百姓祈祷，也不要为他们呼求祷告，因为他们遭难向我哀求的时候，我必不应允。Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.
15我所亲爱的既多设恶谋，还能在我殿中做什么呢？你因作恶就喜乐，圣肉要离开你。What hath my beloved to do in mine house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.
16从前耶和华给你起名叫青橄榄树，又华美又结好果子；如今他用一声巨响点火在其上，枝子就折断了。The LORD called thy name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.
17“原来栽培你的万军之耶和华已经说要降祸给你，是因以色列家和犹大家行恶。他们向巴力烧香，惹我发怒，是自作自受。”杀害耶利米的阴谋
For the LORD of hosts, that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke me to anger in offering incense unto Baal.
18耶和华指示我，我才知道； 你将他们所做的给我指明。And the LORD hath given me knowledge of it, and I know it: then thou shewedst me their doings.
19我像柔顺的羔羊被牵去宰杀， 并不知道他们设计谋害我： “我们把树连果子都灭了吧！ 把他从活人之地剪除， 使他的名不再被记得。”But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.
20按公义判断、察验人肺腑心肠的万军之耶和华啊， 求你使我得见你在他们身上报仇， 因我已将我的案件向你禀明了。But, O LORD of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.
21所以，耶和华论到寻索你命的亚拿突人如此说：“他们说：你不要奉耶和华的名说预言，免得你死在我们手中。Therefore thus saith the LORD of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the LORD, that thou die not by our hand:
22所以万军之耶和华如此说：看哪，我必惩罚他们；他们的壮丁必被刀剑杀死，他们的儿女必因饥荒而死，Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine:
23他们当中必无任何幸存者；因为在他们受罚之年，我必使灾祸临到亚拿突人。”And there shall be no remnant of them: for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.
