埃及在迦基米施受挫
耶和华论列国的话临到耶利米先知。
The word of the LORD which came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Gentiles;
2论到埃及，关于埃及王尼哥法老的军队，这军队安营在幼发拉底河边的迦基米施，是巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒在约西亚的儿子犹大王约雅敬第四年所打败的。Against Egypt, against the army of Pharaohnecho king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah.
3你们要预备大小盾牌， 往前上阵，Order ye the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle.
4套上车， 骑上马！ 顶盔站立， 磨枪披甲！Harness the horses; and get up, ye horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; furbish the spears, and put on the brigandines.
5我为何看见他们惊惶， 转身退后呢？ 他们的勇士打败仗， 急忙逃跑，并不回头； 四围都有惊吓！ 这是耶和华说的。Wherefore have I seen them dismayed and turned away back? and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: for fear was round about, saith the LORD.
6不要容快跑的逃避， 也不要容勇士逃脱☛“不要...逃脱”或译“快跑的不能逃避，勇士也不能逃脱”。； 在北方幼发拉底河边， 他们绊跌仆倒。Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates.
7这是谁，像尼罗河涨溢， 如江河的水翻腾呢？Who is this that cometh up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?
8埃及像尼罗河涨溢， 如江河的水翻腾。 它说：“我要涨溢遮盖全地； 我要毁灭城镇和其中的居民。Egypt riseth up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he saith, I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.
9马匹啊，上去吧！ 战车啊，要疾行！ 手拿盾牌的古实和弗☛“弗”是利比亚的一部分。的勇士， 擅长拉弓的路德人，前进吧！”Come up, ye horses; and rage, ye chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, that handle the shield; and the Lydians, that handle and bend the bow.
10那日是万军之主耶和华报仇的日子， 要向敌人报仇。 刀剑必吞吃饱足， 饮血满足； 因为在北方幼发拉底河边， 有祭物献给万军之主耶和华。For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
11少女埃及☛“少女埃及”：原文直译“少女埃及女子”。啊， 要上基列去取乳香； 你虽服用许多药， 还是徒然，不得治好。Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; for thou shalt not be cured.
12列国听见你的羞辱， 遍地满了你的哀声； 勇士与勇士彼此相撞， 二人一起跌倒。尼布甲尼撒来犯
The nations have heard of thy shame, and thy cry hath filled the land: for the mighty man hath stumbled against the mighty, and they are fallen both together.
13以下是耶和华对耶利米先知说的话，论到巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒要来攻击埃及地。The word that the LORD spake to Jeremiah the prophet, how Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come and smite the land of Egypt.
14你们要在埃及传扬，在密夺报告， 在挪弗、答比匿宣告说： “要摆好阵势，预备作战， 因为刀剑在你四围施行吞灭。”Declare ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tahpanhes: say ye, Stand fast, and prepare thee; for the sword shall devour round about thee.
15你的壮士为何被扫除呢？ 他们站立不住，☛“你的...站立不住，”七十士译本是“阿庇斯（挪弗的牛神）为何逃走呢？你精选的牛为何站立不住呢？” 因为耶和华驱逐他们；Why are thy valiant men swept away? they stood not, because the LORD did drive them.
16他使多人绊跌，彼此撞倒。 他们说：“起来，让我们回到自己的同胞、 回到自己的出生地去， 好躲避欺压的刀剑。”He made many to fall, yea, one fell upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.
17他们在那里称埃及王法老☛“他们...法老”：七十士译本是“你们要称埃及王法老尼哥的名字”。为 “错失良机的夸大者”。They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he hath passed the time appointed.
18名为万军之耶和华的君王说： 我指着我的永生起誓： “尼布甲尼撒☛“尼布甲尼撒”：原文是“他”。来的时候， 必像众山之中的他泊， 像海边的迦密。”As I live, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts, Surely as Tabor is among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, so shall he come.
19住在埃及☛“埃及”：原文直译“埃及女子”；本章24节同。的啊， 要预备被掳时需用的物品； 因为挪弗必成为废墟， 被烧毁，无人居住。O thou daughter dwelling in Egypt, furnish thyself to go into captivity: for Noph shall be waste and desolate without an inhabitant.
20埃及是肥美的母牛犊； 但来自北方的牛虻来到了！来到了！☛“来到了！来到了！”有古卷和七十士译本是“临到它。”Egypt is like a very fair heifer, but destruction cometh; it cometh out of the north.
21它的佣兵好像圈里的肥牛犊， 他们转身退后， 一齐逃跑，站立不住； 因为他们遭难的日子、 受罚的时刻已经来临。Also her hired men are in the midst of her like fatted bullocks; for they also are turned back, and are fled away together: they did not stand, because the day of their calamity was come upon them, and the time of their visitation.
22它的声音好像蛇在滑行。 敌人要成队而来，如砍伐树木的人， 手拿斧头攻击它。The voice thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.
23虽然它的树林不易穿过， 敌人却要砍伐， 因敌人比蝗虫还多，不可胜数。 这是耶和华说的。They shall cut down her forest, saith the LORD, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and are innumerable.
24埃及必然蒙羞， 被交在北方人的手中。The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.
25万军之耶和华－以色列的神说：“看哪，我要惩罚挪☛“挪”就是埃及的底比斯。的亚扪☛“亚扪”是埃及的主要神明。和法老、埃及和它的神明，以及君王，也要惩罚法老和倚靠他的人。The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saith; Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and all them that trust in him:
26我要将他们交给寻索其命之人的手和巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒与他臣仆的手。但埃及日后必再有人居住，与从前一样。这是耶和华说的。”耶和华要救他的子民
And I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants: and afterward it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith the LORD.
27我的仆人雅各啊，不要惧怕！ 以色列啊，不要惊惶！ 因我要从远方拯救你， 从被掳之地拯救你的后裔。 雅各必回来，得享平静安逸， 无人令他害怕。But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.
28我的仆人雅各啊，不要惧怕！ 因我与你同在。 我要将那些国灭绝净尽， 就是我赶你去的那些国； 却不将你灭绝净尽， 倒要从宽惩治你， 但绝不能不罚你。 这是耶和华说的。Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.
