亚比雅与耶罗波安争战
（王上15．1－8）
耶罗波安王十八年，亚比雅登基作犹大王，
Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah.
2在耶路撒冷作王三年。他母亲名叫米该亚，是基比亚人乌列的女儿☛“米该亚...乌列的女儿”：11．20称“押沙龙的女儿玛迦”。。亚比雅常与耶罗波安交战。
He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Michaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
3有一次亚比雅率领四十万精选的士兵出战，他们都是勇敢的战士；耶罗波安也率领八十万精选的大能勇士，迎着亚比雅摆阵。And Abijah set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, being mighty men of valour.
4亚比雅站在以法莲山区中的洗玛脸山上，说：“耶罗波安和以色列众人哪，要听我说！And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me, thou Jeroboam, and all Israel;
5耶和华－以色列的神曾立盐约，将以色列国永远赐给大卫和他的子孙，你们不知道吗？Ought ye not to know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?
6但大卫儿子所罗门的臣仆、尼八的儿子耶罗波安起来背叛他的主人。Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, is risen up, and hath rebelled against his lord.
7有些无赖的歹徒聚集跟从他，逞强攻击所罗门的儿子罗波安；那时罗波安还年轻，心志软弱，不能抵挡他们。And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.
8“现在你们说要抗拒大卫子孙手下所治理的耶和华的国，你们的人数众多，你们那里又有耶罗波安为你们所造当作神明的金牛犊。And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and ye be a great multitude, and there are with you golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods.
9你们不是驱逐耶和华的祭司亚伦的后裔和利未人吗？不是照着外邦人的恶俗为自己立祭司吗？无论何人牵一头公牛犊、七只公绵羊将自己分别出来，就可作虚无神明的祭司。Have ye not cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods.
10至于我们，耶和华是我们的神，我们并没有离弃他。我们有事奉耶和华的祭司，都是亚伦的后裔，并有利未人各尽其职。But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the LORD, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:
11他们每日早晚向耶和华献燔祭，烧芬芳的香，又在纯金的☛“纯金的”：原文没有“金”；或译“洁净的”。供桌上摆供饼，每晚点燃金灯台上的灯盏，因为我们遵守耶和华－我们神的命令，但你们却离弃了他。And they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but ye have forsaken him.
12看哪，率领我们的是神，又有他的祭司拿号向你们吹出响声。以色列人哪，不要与耶和华－你们列祖的神争战，因你们必不能得胜。”And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.
13耶罗波安却在犹大人的后头设伏兵。这样，以色列人在犹大人的前头，伏兵在犹大人的后头。But Jeroboam caused an ambushment to come about behind them: so they were before Judah, and the ambushment was behind them.
14犹大人转过来，看哪，前后都有战事，就呼求耶和华，祭司也吹号。And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried unto the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.
15于是犹大人呐喊。犹大人呐喊的时候，神就击打耶罗波安和以色列众人，使他们败在亚比雅与犹大人面前。Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
16以色列人在犹大人面前逃跑，神将他们交在犹大人手里。And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand.
17亚比雅和他的军兵大大击杀以色列人，以色列人被杀仆倒的精兵有五十万。And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.
18那时，以色列人被制伏了。犹大人得胜，因为他们倚靠耶和华－他们列祖的神。Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the LORD God of their fathers.
19亚比雅追赶耶罗波安，攻取了他的几座城，就是伯特利和所属的乡镇☛“乡镇”：原文直译“女子们”；本卷书下同。，耶沙拿和所属的乡镇，以法拉音☛“以法拉音”：原文另译“以弗仑”。和所属的乡镇。And Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Bethel with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof, and Ephrain with the towns thereof.
20亚比雅在世的时候，耶罗波安不再强盛；耶和华击打他，他就死了。Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah: and the LORD struck him, and he died.
21亚比雅却渐渐强盛。他娶了十四个妻妾，生了二十二个儿子，十六个女儿。But Abijah waxed mighty, and married fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters.
22亚比雅其余的事和他的言行都写在易多先知的评传上。And the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways, and his sayings, are written in the story of the prophet Iddo.
