雅各祝福约瑟的两个儿子
这些事以后，有人告诉约瑟说：“看哪，你的父亲病了。”他就带着两个儿子玛拿西和以法莲同去。
And it came to pass after these things, that one told Joseph, Behold, thy father is sick: and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.
2有人告诉雅各说：“看哪，你的儿子约瑟到你这里来了。”以色列就勉强在床上坐起来。And one told Jacob, and said, Behold, thy son Joseph cometh unto thee: and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.
3雅各对约瑟说：“全能的神曾在迦南地的路斯向我显现，赐福给我，And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,
4对我说：‘看哪，我必使你生养众多，成为许多民族，又要将这地赐给你的后裔，永远为业。’And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.
5我未到埃及你那里之前，你在埃及地所生的以法莲和玛拿西这两个儿子，现在他们是我的，正如吕便和西缅是我的一样。And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.
6你在他们以后所生的后裔就是你的，这些后裔可以在自己兄弟的名下得产业。And thy issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine, and shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance.
7至于我，我从巴旦回来的时候，拉结在我身旁死了，就是在往迦南地的路上，离以法他还有一段路程。我就把她葬在往以法他的路旁；以法他就是伯利恒。”And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet there was but a little way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of Ephrath; the same is Bethlehem.
8以色列看见约瑟的儿子，就说：“这些是谁？”And Israel beheld Joseph's sons, and said, Who are these?
9约瑟对他父亲说：“这是神在这里赐给我的儿子。”以色列说：“领他们到我跟前，我要为他们祝福。”And Joseph said unto his father, They are my sons, whom God hath given me in this place. And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless them.
10以色列年纪老迈，眼睛昏花，不能看见。约瑟领他们到他跟前，他就和他们亲吻，抱着他们。Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he could not see. And he brought them near unto him; and he kissed them, and embraced them.
11以色列对约瑟说：“我没有想到能够见你的面。看哪，神还让我看见你的儿子。”And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see thy face: and, lo, God hath shewed me also thy seed.
12约瑟把他们从以色列两膝中间领出来，自己脸伏于地下拜。And Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth.
13然后，约瑟牵着他们两个，带到父亲跟前，右手牵以法莲到以色列的左边，左手牵玛拿西到以色列的右边。And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought them near unto him.
14以色列却伸出右手来，按在次子以法莲的头上，又交叉伸出左手来，按在长子玛拿西的头上。And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.
15他就为约瑟祝福说： “愿我祖父亚伯拉罕和我父亲以撒所事奉的神， 就是一生牧养我直到今日的神，And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,
16救赎我脱离一切患难的那位使者，赐福给这两个孩子。 愿我的名，我祖父亚伯拉罕和我父亲以撒的名藉着他们得以流传。 又愿他们在全地上多多繁衍。”The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.
17约瑟见父亲把右手按在以法莲的头上，他看为不好，就提起他父亲的手，要从以法莲的头上移到玛拿西的头上。And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head.
18约瑟对父亲说：“我父，不是这样。这个才是长子，请你把右手按在他头上。”And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.
19他父亲却不肯，说：“我知道，我儿，我知道。他也要成为一族，也要强大。可是他的弟弟将来比他还要强大；他弟弟的后裔要成为许多国家。”And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.
20以色列就在当日为他们祝福，说：“以色列人要指着你们祝福，说：‘愿神使你如以法莲、玛拿西一样。’”于是他立以法莲在玛拿西之上。And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.
21以色列又对约瑟说：“看哪，我快要死了，但神必与你们同在，领你们回到你们祖先之地。And Israel said unto Joseph, Behold, I die: but God shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers.
22从前我用刀用弓从亚摩利人手下夺取的那一份，我要把它赐给你，使你比你的兄弟多得一份☛“比你的兄弟多得一份”或译“使你拥有示剑城，超过你的兄弟”。。”Moreover I have given to thee one portion above thy brethren, which I took out of the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow.
