约瑟伏在他父亲的脸上，在他脸上哭，又亲他。
And Joseph fell upon his father's face, and wept upon him, and kissed him.
2约瑟吩咐伺候他的医生们用香料涂他父亲，医生就用香料涂了以色列。And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father: and the physicians embalmed Israel.
3四十天满了，就是涂香料所规定的日子满了。埃及人为他哀哭了七十天。And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days.
4过了哀悼的日子，约瑟对法老家中的人说：“我若在你们眼前蒙恩，请你们对法老说：And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spake unto the house of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,
5‘我父亲曾叫我起誓说：看哪，我快要死了，你要将我葬在迦南地，在我为自己所掘的坟墓里。’现在求你准我上去葬我父亲，然后我必回来。”My father made me swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have digged for me in the land of Canaan, there shalt thou bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father, and I will come again.
6法老说：“你可以上去，照你父亲叫你起的誓，将他安葬。”And Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury thy father, according as he made thee swear.
7于是约瑟上去葬他父亲。与他一同上去的有法老的众臣仆和法老家中的长老，以及埃及地所有的长老，And Joseph went up to bury his father: and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,
8还有约瑟的全家和他的兄弟们，以及他父亲的家属；只留下他们的孩子和羊群牛群在歌珊地。And all the house of Joseph, and his brethren, and his father's house: only their little ones, and their flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of Goshen.
9又有车辆和驾驶兵和他一同上去，队伍非常庞大。And there went up with him both chariots and horsemen: and it was a very great company.
10他们到了约旦河东亚达的禾场，就在那里大大地号啕痛哭。约瑟为他父亲哀哭了七天。And they came to the threshingfloor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very sore lamentation: and he made a mourning for his father seven days.
11迦南的居民看见亚达禾场上的哀哭，就说：“这是埃及人一场极大的哀哭。”因此那地方名叫亚伯．麦西☛“亚伯．麦西”意思是“埃及人的哀哭”。，是在约旦河东。And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, This is a grievous mourning to the Egyptians: wherefore the name of it was called Abelmizraim, which is beyond Jordan.
12雅各的儿子们遵照父亲的吩咐去办了，And his sons did unto him according as he commanded them:
13他们把他送到迦南地，葬在幔利对面的麦比拉田间的洞里；那田是亚伯拉罕向赫人以弗仑买来作坟地的产业。For his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a buryingplace of Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre.
14约瑟葬了他父亲以后，就和他的兄弟，以及所有同他上去葬他父亲的人，都回埃及去了。约瑟安慰哥哥们
And Joseph returned into Egypt, he, and his brethren, and all that went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father.
15约瑟的哥哥们见父亲死了，就说：“也许约瑟仍然怀恨我们，会照我们从前待他一切的恶，重重报复我们。”And when Joseph's brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.
16他们就传口信给约瑟说：“你父亲未死之前曾吩咐说：And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father did command before he died, saying,
17‘你们要对约瑟这样说：从前你哥哥们恶待你，你要饶恕他们的过犯和罪恶。’现在求你饶恕你父亲的神之仆人们的过犯。”他们对约瑟说了这话，约瑟就哭了。So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.
18他的哥哥们又来俯伏在他面前，说：“看哪，我们是你的奴隶。”And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants.
19约瑟对他们说：“不要怕，我岂能代替神呢？And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?
20从前你们的意思是要害我，但神的意思原是好的，要使许多百姓得以存活，成就今日的光景。But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
21现在你们不要害怕，我必养活你们和你们的孩子。”于是约瑟安慰他们，讲了使他们安心的话。约瑟的死
Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.
22约瑟和他父亲的家属都住在埃及。约瑟活了一百一十年。And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father's house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years.
23约瑟看到以法莲第三代的子孙。玛拿西的孙子，玛吉的儿子，出生时都放在约瑟的膝上。And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation: the children also of Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph's knees.
24约瑟对他的兄弟说：“我快要死了，但神必定看顾你们，领你们从这地上去，到他起誓应许给亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各之地。”And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
25约瑟叫以色列的子孙起誓：“神必定眷顾你们，你们要把我的骸骨从这里带上去。”And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.
26约瑟死了，那时他一百一十岁。人用香料涂了他，把他收殓在棺材里，停放在埃及。So Joseph died, being an hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.
