底拿受辱
利亚给雅各所生的女儿底拿出去，要探望那地的女子们。
And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land.
2那地的族长希未人哈抹的儿子示剑看见她，就拉住她，与她同寝，玷辱了她。And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her.
3示剑的心喜欢雅各的女儿底拿，爱上这少女，甜言蜜语地安慰她。And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spake kindly unto the damsel.
4示剑对他父亲哈抹说：“求你为我聘这女孩为妻。”And Shechem spake unto his father Hamor, saying, Get me this damsel to wife.
5雅各听见示剑污辱了他的女儿底拿。那时他的儿子们正和牲畜在田野，雅各就沉默，等他们回来。And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter: now his sons were with his cattle in the field: and Jacob held his peace until they were come.
6示剑的父亲哈抹出来，到雅各那里，要和他讲话。And Hamor the father of Shechem went out unto Jacob to commune with him.
7雅各的儿子们听见这事，就从田野回来，人人悲愤，十分恼怒，因示剑在以色列中做了丑事，与雅各的女儿同寝，这本是不该做的事。And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter; which thing ought not to be done.
8哈抹和他们谈话，说：“我儿子示剑的心喜欢你们家的女儿，请你们把她嫁给我的儿子。And Hamor communed with them, saying, The soul of my son Shechem longeth for your daughter: I pray you give her him to wife.
9你们与我们彼此结亲；你们可以把你们家的女儿嫁给我们，也可以娶我们家的女儿。And make ye marriages with us, and give your daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto you.
10你们与我们同住吧！这地都在你们面前，只管在这里居住，做买卖，置产业。”And ye shall dwell with us: and the land shall be before you; dwell and trade ye therein, and get you possessions therein.
11示剑对女子的父亲和兄弟们说：“愿你们看得起我，你们向我要什么，我必给你们，And Shechem said unto her father and unto her brethren, Let me find grace in your eyes, and what ye shall say unto me I will give.
12无论向我要多贵重的聘金和礼物，我必照你们所说的给你们，只要你们将这少女嫁给我。”Ask me never so much dowry and gift, and I will give according as ye shall say unto me: but give me the damsel to wife.
13雅各的儿子们因示剑污辱了他们的妹妹底拿，就用诡诈的话回答示剑和他父亲哈抹，And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully, and said, because he had defiled Dinah their sister:
14对他们说：“我们不能做这样的事，把我们的妹妹嫁给没有受割礼的人为妻，因为那是我们的羞耻。And they said unto them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us:
15惟有一个条件，我们才答应你们，就是你们所有的男丁都要受割礼，和我们一样，But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised;
16我们就把我们家的女儿嫁给你们，也娶你们家的女儿；我们就与你们同住，大家成为一族人。Then will we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.
17倘若你们不听从我们受割礼，我们就带我们家的女儿走了。”But if ye will not hearken unto us, to be circumcised; then will we take our daughter, and we will be gone.
18这些话在哈抹和他儿子示剑的眼中看为美。And their words pleased Hamor, and Shechem Hamor's son.
19那年轻人毫不迟延做这事，因为他爱上了雅各的女儿；他在他父亲家中也是最受人尊重的。And the young man deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob's daughter: and he was more honourable than all the house of his father.
20哈抹和他儿子示剑到他们的城门口，对城里的人讲说：And Hamor and Shechem his son came unto the gate of their city, and communed with the men of their city, saying,
21“这些人对我们友善，不如允许他们在这地居住，做买卖；看哪，这地宽阔，足以容纳他们。我们可以娶他们家的女儿，也可以把我们家的女儿嫁给他们。These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein; for the land, behold, it is large enough for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters.
22惟有一个条件，这些人才答应和我们同住，成为一族人，就是我们中间所有的男丁都要受割礼，和他们一样。Only herein will the men consent unto us for to dwell with us, to be one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised.
23他们的牲畜、财物和一切的牲口岂不都归给我们吗？只要答应他们，他们就与我们同住。”Shall not their cattle and their substance and every beast of theirs be ours? only let us consent unto them, and they will dwell with us.
24凡从城门出入的人都听从了哈抹和他儿子示剑的话。于是，凡从城门出入的男丁都受了割礼。And unto Hamor and unto Shechem his son hearkened all that went out of the gate of his city; and every male was circumcised, all that went out of the gate of his city.
25到第三天，他们正疼痛的时候，雅各的两个儿子，就是底拿的哥哥西缅和利未，各拿刀剑，不动声色地来到城中，把所有的男丁都杀了，And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males.
26又用刀杀了哈抹和他儿子示剑，把底拿从示剑家里带走，就离开了。And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem's house, and went out.
27雅各的儿子们因为他们的妹妹受污辱，就来到被杀的人那里，洗劫那城，The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because they had defiled their sister.
28夺走了他们的羊群、牛群和驴，以及城里和田间所有的；They took their sheep, and their oxen, and their asses, and that which was in the city, and that which was in the field,
29又俘掳抢劫他们一切的财物、孩童、妇女，以及房屋中所有的。And all their wealth, and all their little ones, and their wives took they captive, and spoiled even all that was in the house.
30雅各对西缅和利未说：“你们连累了我，使我在这地的居民中，就是在迦南人和比利洗人中坏了名声。我的人丁稀少，他们必聚集来击杀我，我和全家的人都要被灭绝。”And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.
31他们却说：“他岂可待我们的妹妹如同妓女呢？”And they said, Should he deal with our sister as with an harlot?
