大卫作全以色列的王
（代上11．1－9；14．1－7）
以色列众支派来到希伯仑见大卫，说：“看哪，我们是你的骨肉。
Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
2从前扫罗作我们王的时候，率领以色列人出入的是你。耶和华也曾对你说：‘你必牧养我的百姓以色列，你必作以色列的君王。’”Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.
3于是以色列的众长老都来到希伯仑见王 。大卫在希伯仑，在耶和华面前与他们立约，他们就膏大卫作以色列的王。So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.
4大卫登基的时候年三十岁，作王四十年。David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.
5他在希伯仑作犹大王七年六个月，在耶路撒冷作以色列和犹大王三十三年。In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.
6王和他的人到了耶路撒冷，要攻打住那地方的耶布斯人。耶布斯人对大卫说：“你必不能进到这里，就是盲人、瘸子都可以把你击退。”就是说：“大卫绝不能进到这里。”And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.
7然而大卫攻取了锡安的堡垒，就是大卫的城。Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.
8当日，大卫说：“谁攻打耶布斯人，就要从水道上去，攻打我心里所恨恶的☛“我心里所恨恶的”：原文另译“那些恨恶大卫的”。瘸子、盲人。”因此有人说：“盲人和瘸子不得进殿里去。”And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.
9大卫住在堡垒里，给它起名叫大卫城。大卫又从米罗☛“米罗”是音译，指“土堆的防御工事”。往内，周围建筑。So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.
10大卫日见强大，耶和华－万军之神与他同在。And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.
11推罗王希兰派使者把香柏木运到大卫那里，又派木匠和石匠给大卫建造宫殿。And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house.
12大卫知道耶和华坚立他作以色列王，又为自己百姓以色列的缘故，使他的国兴盛。And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.
13大卫离开希伯仑之后，在耶路撒冷又立后妃，又生儿女。And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.
14在耶路撒冷所生的孩子的名字是沙母亚、朔罢、拿单、所罗门、And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammuah, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
15益辖、以利书亚、尼斐、雅非亚、Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
16以利沙玛、以利雅大、以利法列。战胜非利士人
（代上14．8－17）
And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.
17非利士人听见大卫受膏作以色列王，非利士众人就上来寻索大卫。大卫听见了，就下到堡垒去。But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.
18非利士人来了，散布在利乏音谷。The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
19大卫求问耶和华说：“我可以上去攻打非利士人吗？你将他们交在我手里吗？”耶和华对大卫说：“你可以上去，我必将非利士人交在你手里。”And David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
20大卫来到巴力．毗拉心，在那里击败了非利士人。他说：“耶和华在我面前冲破敌人，如水冲破一样。”因此他称那地方为巴力．毗拉心。And David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.
21非利士人把偶像抛弃在那里，大卫和他的人拿去了。And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.
22非利士人又上来，散布在利乏音谷。And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
23大卫求问耶和华；耶和华说：“不要直上，要绕到他们后头，从桑树林对面攻打他们。And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
24你听见桑树梢上有脚步的声音，就要急速前去，因为那时耶和华已经出去，在你前头攻打非利士人的军队了。”And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.
25大卫就遵照耶和华所吩咐的去做，攻打非利士人，从迦巴直到基色。And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.
