耶和华使大卫得胜
（代上18．1－17）
此后，大卫攻打非利士人，制伏了他们。大卫从非利士人手中夺取了京城的治理权☛“京城的治理权”：原文音译“米特．雅玛”，意思是“母城的嚼环”。。
And after this it came to pass that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Methegammah out of the hand of the Philistines.
2他又攻打摩押人，使他们躺卧在地上，用绳来量，量二绳的杀了，量一绳的活着。摩押人就臣服大卫，向他进贡。And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.
3利合的儿子琐巴王哈大底谢往幼发拉底河去，要夺回他的国权，大卫就攻打他，David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.
4俘掳了他的骑兵一千七百人，步兵二万人。大卫把所有战马的蹄筋砍断，只留下一百辆战车。And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.
5大马士革的亚兰人来帮助琐巴王哈大底谢，大卫杀了亚兰人二万二千。And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succour Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
6于是大卫在大马士革的亚兰设立军营，亚兰人就臣服大卫，向他进贡。大卫无论往哪里去，耶和华都使他得胜。Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
7大卫夺了哈大底谢臣仆拥有的金盾牌，带到耶路撒冷。And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8大卫王又从哈大底谢的比他和比罗他二城夺取了许多的铜。And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.
9哈马王陀以听见大卫击败哈大底谢的全军，When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,
10就派他儿子约兰☛“约兰”：有古卷是“哈多兰”；参代上18．10。到大卫王那里，向他请安，为他祝福，因他与哈大底谢争战，并且击败了他；原来哈大底谢与陀以常常争战。约兰手里带了金银铜的器皿来。Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:
11大卫王把这些器皿分别为圣，连同他制伏各国所分别为圣的金银，献给耶和华，Which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;
12就是从亚兰☛“亚兰”：有古卷、七十士译本和其他古译本是“以东”。、摩押、亚扪人、非利士人、亚玛力人，以及从利合的儿子琐巴王哈大底谢所掠之物。Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
13大卫得了名声。当他回来的时候，在盐谷击杀了一万八千以东☛“以东”是根据七十士译本；原文是“亚兰”。人。And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.
14大卫在以东设立军营；他在全以东设立军营，以东人就都臣服他。大卫无论往哪里去，耶和华都使他得胜。And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David's servants. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
15大卫作全以色列的王，又向众百姓秉公行义。And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.
16洗鲁雅的儿子约押作元帅；亚希律的儿子约沙法作史官；And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
17亚希突的儿子撒督和亚比亚他的儿子亚希米勒作祭司；西莱雅作书记；And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe;
18耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅管辖☛“管辖”是根据有些古卷和古译本；参代上18．17；原文没有。基利提人和比利提人。大卫的众子都作祭司。And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief rulers.
