押沙龙阴谋造反
此后，押沙龙为自己预备车马，又派五十人在他前头奔跑。
And it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared him chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him.
2押沙龙常常早晨起来，站在城门的路旁，任何人有争讼要去求王判决，押沙龙就叫他过来，说：“你是哪一城的人？”他说：“仆人是以色列某支派的人。”And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.
3押沙龙就对他说：“看，你的案件合情合理，无奈王没有委派人听你申诉。”And Absalom said unto him, See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee.
4押沙龙又说：“恨不得我作这地的审判官！☛“恨不得...审判官！”原文直译“谁能立我作这地的审判官呢？”凡有争讼的人可以到我这里来，我必秉公判断。”Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!
5若有人近前来要拜押沙龙，押沙龙就伸手拉住他，亲吻他。And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him.
6以色列中，凡到王那里求判决的，押沙龙都这么做。这样，押沙龙暗中赢得了以色列人的心。And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.
7过了四年☛“四年”是根据一些抄本和古译本；原文是“四十年”；有古卷是“四十天”。，押沙龙对王说：“求你准我往希伯仑去，还我向耶和华所许的愿。And it came to pass after forty years, that Absalom said unto the king, I pray thee, let me go and pay my vow, which I have vowed unto the LORD, in Hebron.
8因为仆人住在亚兰的基述时，曾许愿说：‘耶和华若使我再回耶路撒冷，我必事奉他☛“我必事奉他”：七十士译本的一些抄本是“我必在希伯仑事奉他”。。’”For thy servant vowed a vow while I abode at Geshur in Syria, saying, If the LORD shall bring me again indeed to Jerusalem, then I will serve the LORD.
9王对他说：“你平安地去吧！”押沙龙就动身，往希伯仑去了。And the king said unto him, Go in peace. So he arose, and went to Hebron.
10押沙龙派密使走遍以色列各支派，说：“你们一听见角声就说：‘押沙龙在希伯仑作王了！’”But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, As soon as ye hear the sound of the trumpet, then ye shall say, Absalom reigneth in Hebron.
11押沙龙在耶路撒冷请了二百人与他同去，都是诚心诚意去的，一点也不知道实情。And with Absalom went two hundred men out of Jerusalem, that were called; and they went in their simplicity, and they knew not any thing.
12押沙龙献祭的时候，派人去把大卫的谋士，基罗人亚希多弗从他本城基罗请来☛“派人...请来”是根据七十士译本和死海古卷；原文是“委派大卫的谋士，来自基罗城的基罗人亚希多弗”。。于是叛乱越发强大，因为随从押沙龙的百姓日渐增多。And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counsellor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom.
大卫逃离耶路撒冷
13报信的人来到大卫那里，说：“以色列人的心都归向押沙龙了！”And there came a messenger to David, saying, The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom.
14大卫就对耶路撒冷所有跟随他的臣仆说：“起来，我们逃吧！否则，我们来不及逃避押沙龙。要快点离开，免得他很快追上我们，加害于我们，用刀击杀城里的人。”And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.
15王的臣仆对王说：“我主我王所决定的一切，看哪，仆人都愿遵行。”And the king's servants said unto the king, Behold, thy servants are ready to do whatsoever my lord the king shall appoint.
16于是王出去了，他的全家都跟随他，但留下十个妃嫔看守宫殿。And the king went forth, and all his household after him. And the king left ten women, which were concubines, to keep the house.
17王出去，众百姓都跟随他；到了最后一座屋子☛“最后一座屋子”或译“伯．墨哈”。，他们就停下来。And the king went forth, and all the people after him, and tarried in a place that was far off.
18王的众臣仆都在他旁边过去。基利提人、比利提人，和从迦特跟随王来的六百个迦特人，也都在王面前过去。And all his servants passed on beside him; and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men which came after him from Gath, passed on before the king.
19王对迦特人以太说：“你是外邦人，从你本地逃来的，为什么与我们同去呢？你回去留在新王那里吧！Then said the king to Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore goest thou also with us? return to thy place, and abide with the king: for thou art a stranger, and also an exile.
20你昨天才到，我今日怎好叫你与我们一同流亡，而我却要到处飘流呢？回去吧，你带你的弟兄回去吧！愿主用慈爱信实待你☛“你带你的弟兄...待你”是根据七十士译本；原文是“你用慈爱和诚实带你的弟兄回去吧”。。”Whereas thou camest but yesterday, should I this day make thee go up and down with us? seeing I go whither I may, return thou, and take back thy brethren: mercy and truth be with thee.
21以太回答王说：“我指着永生的耶和华起誓，又敢在王面前起誓：无论生死，王在哪里，你的仆人也必在哪里。”And Ittai answered the king, and said, As the LORD liveth, and as my lord the king liveth, surely in what place my lord the king shall be, whether in death or life, even there also will thy servant be.
22大卫对以太说：“去，过去吧！”于是迦特人以太带着所有跟随他的人和孩子过去了。And David said to Ittai, Go and pass over. And Ittai the Gittite passed over, and all his men, and all the little ones that were with him.
23众百姓过去时，当地的人全都放声大哭。王过了汲沦溪，众百姓就往旷野的路上去了。And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness.
24看哪，撒督和所有抬神约柜的利未人也一同来了。他们将神的约柜放下，亚比亚他上来☛“放下...上来”：原文另译“放在亚比亚他的旁边”。，直到众百姓从城里出来走过去为止。And lo Zadok also, and all the Levites were with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God: and they set down the ark of God; and Abiathar went up, until all the people had done passing out of the city.
25王对撒督说：“你将神的约柜请回城去。我若在耶和华眼前蒙恩，他必使我回来，再见到约柜和他的居所。And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favour in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again, and shew me both it, and his habitation:
26倘若他说：‘我不喜爱你’；我在这里，就照他眼中看为好的待我！”But if he thus say, I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let him do to me as seemeth good unto him.
27王对撒督祭司说：“你不是先见吗？你可以平安地回城，你儿子亚希玛斯和亚比亚他的儿子约拿单，你们二人的儿子可以与你们同去。The king said also unto Zadok the priest, Art not thou a seer? return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.
28看，我在旷野的渡口那里等，直到你们来报信给我。”See, I will tarry in the plain of the wilderness, until there come word from you to certify me.
29于是撒督和亚比亚他将神的约柜请回耶路撒冷，他们就留在那里。Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem: and they tarried there.
30大卫蒙头赤脚走上橄榄山的斜坡，一面上一面哭。所有跟随他的百姓也都各自蒙头哭着上去；And David went up by the ascent of mount Olivet, and wept as he went up, and had his head covered, and he went barefoot: and all the people that was with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up.
31有人告诉大卫说☛“有人告诉大卫说”是根据七十士译本和死海古卷；原文是“大卫说”。：“亚希多弗也在叛党之中，随从押沙龙。”大卫说：“耶和华啊，求你使亚希多弗的计谋变为愚拙！”And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.
32大卫到了山顶，敬拜神的地方，看哪，亚基人户筛衣服撕裂，头蒙灰尘来迎见他。And it came to pass, that when David was come to the top of the mount, where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head:
33大卫对他说：“你若与我一同过去，必拖累我；Unto whom David said, If thou passest on with me, then thou shalt be a burden unto me:
34你若回城去，对押沙龙说：‘王啊，我愿作你的仆人。我向来作你父亲的仆人，现在我也愿意作你的仆人。’你就可以为我破坏亚希多弗的计谋。But if thou return to the city, and say unto Absalom, I will be thy servant, O king; as I have been thy father's servant hitherto, so will I now also be thy servant: then mayest thou for me defeat the counsel of Ahithophel.
35撒督和亚比亚他二位祭司岂不都在你那里吗？你在王宫里听见什么，就要告诉撒督和亚比亚他二位祭司。And hast thou not there with thee Zadok and Abiathar the priests? therefore it shall be, that what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king's house, thou shalt tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests.
36看哪，撒督的儿子亚希玛斯，亚比亚他的儿子约拿单，也跟二位祭司在那里。凡你们所听见的事，可以托这二人来向我报告。”Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok's son, and Jonathan Abiathar's son; and by them ye shall send unto me every thing that ye can hear.
37于是，大卫的朋友户筛进了城，押沙龙也进了耶路撒冷。So Hushai David's friend came into the city, and Absalom came into Jerusalem.
