伊施．波设被杀
扫罗的儿子伊施．波设听见押尼珥死在希伯仑，手就发软，全以色列也都惊惶。
And when Saul's son heard that Abner was dead in Hebron, his hands were feeble, and all the Israelites were troubled.
2扫罗的儿子伊施．波设有两个军官，一个叫巴拿，第二个叫利甲，都是便雅悯支派比录人临门的儿子；因为比录也算是属于便雅悯的。And Saul's son had two men that were captains of bands: the name of the one was Baanah, and the name of the other Rechab, the sons of Rimmon a Beerothite, of the children of Benjamin: (for Beeroth also was reckoned to Benjamin.
3比录人先前逃到基他音，在那里寄居，直到今日。And the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, and were sojourners there until this day.)
4扫罗的儿子约拿单有一个儿子，名叫米非波设☛“米非波设”：代上8．34，9．40称“米力．巴力”；七十士译本的一些抄本是“米非巴力”；本卷书下同。，是瘸腿的。扫罗和约拿单的消息从耶斯列传来的时候，他才五岁。他的奶妈抱着他逃跑；因为跑得太急，孩子掉在地上，腿就瘸了。And Jonathan, Saul's son, had a son that was lame of his feet. He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled: and it came to pass, as she made haste to flee, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth.
5比录人临门的两个儿子利甲和巴拿出去，天正热的时候到了伊施．波设的家。那时，伊施．波设在睡午觉。And the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, went, and came about the heat of the day to the house of Ishbosheth, who lay on a bed at noon.
6妇人进到房子中间，要取麦子。利甲和他的哥哥巴拿刺穿了伊施．波设的肚腹，然后逃跑了。☛本节七十士译本是“看哪，看门的妇人清理麦子，累了就睡着了。利甲和巴拿两兄弟就溜进去。”And they came thither into the midst of the house, as though they would have fetched wheat; and they smote him under the fifth rib: and Rechab and Baanah his brother escaped.
7他们进到房子的时候，伊施．波设正躺在卧房的床上，他们就把他杀死，割了他的首级，拿着首级在亚拉巴的路上走了一整夜。For when they came into the house, he lay on his bed in his bedchamber, and they smote him, and slew him, and beheaded him, and took his head, and gat them away through the plain all night.
8他们把伊施．波设的首级拿到希伯仑大卫那里，对王说：“王的仇敌扫罗曾寻索你的性命。看哪，这是他儿子伊施．波设的首级；耶和华今日为我主我王在扫罗和他后裔身上报了仇。”And they brought the head of Ishbosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of Ishbosheth the son of Saul thine enemy, which sought thy life; and the LORD hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.
9大卫回答比录人临门的儿子利甲和他哥哥巴拿说：“我指着救我性命脱离一切苦难、永生的耶和华起誓：And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said unto them, As the LORD liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity,
10从前有人告诉我说：‘看哪，扫罗死了。’他自以为报好消息，我就拿住他，把他杀在洗革拉，作为他报消息的赏赐。When one told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good tidings, I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his tidings:
11更何况恶人把义人杀在他家的床上，我岂不从你们手中追讨他的血，从地上除灭你们吗？”How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his bed? shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?
12于是大卫吩咐仆人把他们杀了，砍断他们的手脚，挂在希伯仑的池旁。然后，他们把伊施．波设的首级葬在希伯仑押尼珥的坟墓里。And David commanded his young men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up over the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ishbosheth, and buried it in the sepulchre of Abner in Hebron.
