耶路撒冷受惩罚
他在我耳边大声喊叫，说：“上前来啊，惩罚这城的人，手中要各拿毁灭的兵器。”
He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.
2看哪，有六个人从朝北的上门而来，各人手里拿着致命的兵器；他们当中有一人身穿细麻衣，腰间系着文士用的墨盒。他们进来，站在铜的祭坛旁。And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.
3在基路伯之上，以色列神的荣耀从那里上升，到殿的入口处。神召那身穿细麻衣、腰间系着墨盒的人前来。And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;
4耶和华对他说：“你去走遍耶路撒冷全城，那些为城中所做可憎之事叹息哀哭的人，你要在他们额上做记号。”And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
5我耳中听见耶和华对其余的人说：“要跟随他走遍全城去击杀。你们的眼不要顾惜，也不要可怜他们。And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:
6要将年老的、年轻的、少女、孩童和妇女，从我的圣所开始全都杀尽，只是不可挨近凡有记号的人。”于是他们从殿前的长老杀起。Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.
7他对他们说：“要使这殿污秽，使院中遍满被杀的人。你们出去吧！”他们就出去，在城中击杀。And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.
8他们击杀的时候，只剩我一人，我就脸伏在地上，呼喊说：“唉！主耶和华啊，你将愤怒倾倒在耶路撒冷，岂要把以色列所剩余的人都灭绝吗？”And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?
9他对我说：“以色列家和犹大家的罪孽极其重大。遍地都有流血的事，满城有冤屈，因为他们说：‘耶和华已经离弃这地，他看不见我们。’Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.
10因此，我的眼必不顾惜，也不可怜他们，要照他们所做的报应在他们头上。”And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.
11看哪，那身穿细麻衣、腰间系着墨盒的人回覆这事说：“我已经照你所吩咐的做了。”And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.
