红母牛祭礼
耶和华吩咐摩西和亚伦说：
And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
2“耶和华所吩咐的律法中，其中一条律例这样说：要吩咐以色列人，把一头健康、没有残疾、未曾负轭的红母牛牵到你这里来，This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:
3交给以利亚撒祭司。他要把牛牵到营外，人就在他面前把牛宰了。And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:
4以利亚撒祭司要用指头蘸这牛的血，向会幕前面弹七次。And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:
5人要在他眼前焚烧这母牛，牛的皮、肉、血和粪都要焚烧。And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:
6祭司要把香柏木、牛膝草和朱红色纱都丢在焚烧牛的火中。And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.
7祭司要洗衣服，用水洗身，然后才可以进营；祭司必不洁净到晚上。Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.
8焚烧牛的人也要用水洗衣服，用水洗身，必不洁净到晚上。And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.
9一个洁净的人要收母牛的灰，存放在营外洁净的地方，为以色列会众留作除污秽的水之用。这是为除罪用的。And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.
10收取母牛灰的人要洗衣服，必不洁净到晚上。这要成为以色列人和寄居在他们中间的外人永远的定例。And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.
11“摸了任何人死尸的，必不洁净七天。He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.
12那人要在第三天和第七天洁净自己，他就洁净了。若他不在第三天和第七天洁净自己，他就不洁净了。He shall purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.
13凡摸了死尸，就是死了的人的尸体，又不洁净自己的，就玷污了耶和华的帐幕，这人必从以色列中剪除；因为那除污秽的水没有洒在他身上，他就不洁净，污秽还在他身上。Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.
14“若有人死在帐棚里，条例是这样：凡进那帐棚的，和所有在帐棚里的人，都必不洁净七天。This is the law, when a man dieth in a tent: all that come into the tent, and all that is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.
15凡敞开的，没有用绳子扎好盖子的器皿，也不洁净。And every open vessel, which hath no covering bound upon it, is unclean.
16任何人在田野里摸了被刀杀的，或自然死的，或人的骨头，或坟墓，就必不洁净七天。And whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.
17要为这不洁净的人拿一些烧好的除罪灰放在器皿里，倒上清水。And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt heifer of purification for sin, and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel:
18一个洁净的人要拿牛膝草蘸在这水中，把水弹在帐棚上，和一切器皿以及帐棚内的人身上，又要弹在那摸了骨头，或摸了被杀的或自然死的，或摸了坟墓的人身上。And a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave:
19那洁净的人要在第三天和第七天把水弹在不洁净的人身上，在第七天洁净那人。那人要洗衣服，用水洗澡，到晚上就洁净了。And the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at even.
20但任何不洁净的人，他若不洁净自己，那人要从会中剪除，因为他玷污了耶和华的圣所，除污秽的水没有洒在他身上，他是不洁净的。But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.
21这要成为你们永远的定例。此外，那弹除污秽水的人也要洗衣服。凡碰除污秽水的，必不洁净到晚上。And it shall be a perpetual statute unto them, that he that sprinkleth the water of separation shall wash his clothes; and he that toucheth the water of separation shall be unclean until even.
22不洁净的人所摸的任何东西都不洁净；摸了这东西的人必不洁净到晚上。”And whatsoever the unclean person toucheth shall be unclean; and the soul that toucheth it shall be unclean until even.
