My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
2遵守我的命令就得存活, 谨守我的教诲,好像保护眼中的瞳人。Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
3要系在你指头上, 刻在你心版上。Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.
4对智慧说“你是我的姊妹”, 称呼聪明为亲人,Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:
5她就保护你远离陌生女子, 远离油嘴滑舌的外邦女子。淫乱的妇人
That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.
6我曾在我房屋的窗户内, 透过窗格子往外观看,For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
7看见在愚蒙人中, 注意到孩儿中有一个无知的青年,And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
8从街上经过,靠近她的巷口, 直往她家的路去,Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
9在黄昏,在傍晚, 在半夜,黑暗之中。In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:
10看哪,有一个女子来迎接他, 是妓女的打扮,有诡诈的心思。And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.
11她喧嚷,不守约束, 她的脚在家里留不住,(She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
12有时在街市,有时在广场, 或在各巷口等候。Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)
13她拉住那青年吻他, 厚着脸皮对他说:So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,
14“我已献了平安祭, 今日我还了所许的愿。I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.
15因此,我出来迎接你, 渴望见你的面,我总算找到你了!Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.
16我已在床上铺好被单, 是埃及麻织的花纹布,I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.
17又用没药、沉香、桂皮 薰了我的床。I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
18你来,让我们饱享爱情,直到早晨, 让我们彼此亲爱欢乐。Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.
19因为我丈夫不在家, 出门远行,For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:
20他手带钱囊, 要到月圆才回家。”He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.
21这女子用许多巧言引诱他, 用谄媚的嘴唇催逼他。With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
22青年立刻跟随她,好像牛去被宰杀, 又像愚妄人带着脚镣去受刑,He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
23直到箭穿进他的肝,如同雀鸟急投罗网, 却不知会赔上自己的生命。Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.
24孩子们,现在要听从我, 要留心听我口中的言语。Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
25你的心不可偏向她的道, 不要误入她的迷途。Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
26因为她击倒许多人, 无数的人被她杀戮☛“无数的人被她杀戮”或译“被她杀戮的都是强壮者”。。For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.
27她的家是在阴间之路, 下到死亡之宫。Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
