你当为以色列的领袖们唱哀歌，
Moreover take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
2说： 你的母亲在狮子中 是怎样的母狮呢？ 它蹲伏在少壮狮子中， 养育小狮子。And say, What is thy mother? A lioness: she lay down among lions, she nourished her whelps among young lions.
3它养大了其中一只小狮子， 成了少壮狮子， 学会抓食， 它就吃人。And she brought up one of her whelps: it became a young lion, and it learned to catch the prey; it devoured men.
4列国听见了就把它逮住在他们的坑里， 用钩子拉它到埃及地去。The nations also heard of him; he was taken in their pit, and they brought him with chains unto the land of Egypt.
5母狮见自己等候， 期望落空， 就从小狮子中取一只☛“一只”：七十士译本是“另一只”。， 养为少壮狮子；Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her whelps, and made him a young lion.
6它在众狮子中徜徉， 长大成为少壮狮子， 学会抓食， 它就吃人。And he went up and down among the lions, he became a young lion, and learned to catch the prey, and devoured men.
7它拆毁他们的宫殿☛“它拆毁...宫殿”是根据一些古译本；原文直译“它知道他们的寡妇”，意思是“它与他们的寡妇同寝”。， 使他们的城镇变为废墟； 因它咆哮的声音， 遍地和其中所充满的都荒废了。And he knew their desolate palaces, and he laid waste their cities; and the land was desolate, and the fulness thereof, by the noise of his roaring.
8于是四围列国 从各省前来攻击它， 把网撒在它身上， 把它逮住在他们的坑里。Then the nations set against him on every side from the provinces, and spread their net over him: he was taken in their pit.
9他们又用钩子钩住它，把它放入笼中， 带到巴比伦王那里， 把它押进城堡， 以色列山上就不再听见它的声音。And they put him in ward in chains, and brought him to the king of Babylon: they brought him into holds, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.
10你的母亲如葡萄树， 在葡萄园中☛“在葡萄园中”：原文是“在你血中”。， 栽于水边，因为水多， 就多结果子，多生枝子；Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.
11它长出坚固的枝干， 可作统治者的权杖。 这枝干高举在茂密的树枝中， 可见树身高大，枝子繁多。And she had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.
12但在烈怒中它被拔出，摔在地上； 东风吹干其果子， 那坚固的枝干因折断而枯干， 被火烧毁；But she was plucked up in fury, she was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods were broken and withered; the fire consumed them.
13如今这葡萄树移植于旷野， 在干旱无水之地，And now she is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty ground.
14火从枝干中发出， 烧灭它的枝条和它的果子☛“它的枝条和它的果子”：原文另译“它的枝条”。， 以致不再有坚固的枝干， 可作统治者的权杖。 这是哀伤之歌，成为一首哀歌。And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath devoured her fruit, so that she hath no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.
