以海怪比埃及王
第十二年十二月初一，耶和华的话临到我，说：
And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2“人子啊，你要为埃及王法老作哀歌，说： 你在列国中，如同少壮狮子， 却像海里的海怪， 冲出江河， 以爪搅动诸水， 使江河浑浊。Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, Thou art like a young lion of the nations, and thou art as a whale in the seas: and thou camest forth with thy rivers, and troubledst the waters with thy feet, and fouledst their rivers.
3主耶和华如此说： 许多民族聚集时， 我要将我的网撒在你身上， 他们要把你拉上来。Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will therefore spread out my net over thee with a company of many people; and they shall bring thee up in my net.
4我要把你丢在地上， 抛在田野， 使空中的飞鸟落在你身上， 遍地的野兽因你得以饱足。Then will I leave thee upon the land, I will cast thee forth upon the open field, and will cause all the fowls of the heaven to remain upon thee, and I will fill the beasts of the whole earth with thee.
5我要将你的肉丢在山间， 用你巨大的尸首☛“巨大的尸首”：原文另译“腐烂的尸首”。填满山谷。And I will lay thy flesh upon the mountains, and fill the valleys with thy height.
6我要以你所流的血 浸透大地， 漫过山顶， 溢满河道。I will also water with thy blood the land wherein thou swimmest, even to the mountains; and the rivers shall be full of thee.
7我毁灭你时， 要遮蔽诸天， 使众星昏暗； 我必以密云遮掩太阳， 月亮也不放光。And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.
8我要使天上发亮的光体 在你上面变为昏暗， 使你的地也变为黑暗。 这是主耶和华说的。All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord GOD.
9“我使你在列国，在你所不认识的列邦中灭亡☛“灭亡”：七十士译本是“被掳”。。那时，我必使许多民族的心因你愁烦。I will also vex the hearts of many people, when I shall bring thy destruction among the nations, into the countries which thou hast not known.
10当我在他们面前举起我的刀，我要使许多民族因你惊恐，他们的君王也必因你极其恐慌。在你仆倒的日子，他们各人为自己的性命时时战兢。Yea, I will make many people amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid for thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall.
11主耶和华如此说：巴比伦王的刀必临到你。For thus saith the Lord GOD; The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee.
12我必藉勇士的刀使你的军队仆倒；这些勇士都是列国中凶暴的人。 他们必使埃及的骄傲归于无有， 埃及的军队必被灭绝。By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall, the terrible of the nations, all of them: and they shall spoil the pomp of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be destroyed.
13我要除灭众水旁一切的走兽， 人的脚必不再搅浑这水， 兽的蹄也不搅浑这水。I will destroy also all the beasts thereof from beside the great waters; neither shall the foot of man trouble them any more, nor the hoofs of beasts trouble them.
14那时，我必使他们的水澄清， 使他们的江河像油缓流。 这是主耶和华说的。Then will I make their waters deep, and cause their rivers to run like oil, saith the Lord GOD.
15我使埃及地荒废， 使这地空无一物， 又击杀其中所有的居民； 那时，他们就知道我是耶和华。When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate, and the country shall be destitute of that whereof it was full, when I shall smite all them that dwell therein, then shall they know that I am the LORD.
16“这是一首为人所吟唱的哀歌；列国的女子要唱这哀歌，她们要为埃及和它的军队唱这哀歌。这是主耶和华说的。”为埃及哀号
This is the lamentation wherewith they shall lament her: the daughters of the nations shall lament her: they shall lament for her, even for Egypt, and for all her multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
17第十二年某月☛“某月”：七十士译本是“正月”。十五日，耶和华的话临到我，说：It came to pass also in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
18“人子啊，你要为埃及的军队哀号，把他们和强盛之国☛“强盛之国”：原文直译“强盛之国的女子”。一同扔到地底下，与那些下到地府的人在一起。Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, even her, and the daughters of the famous nations, unto the nether parts of the earth, with them that go down into the pit.
19‘你的美丽胜过谁呢？ 坠落吧，与未受割礼的人躺在一起！’Whom dost thou pass in beauty? go down, and be thou laid with the uncircumcised.
20他们要仆倒在被刀所杀的人当中。埃及被交给刀剑，人要把它和它的军队拉走。They shall fall in the midst of them that are slain by the sword: she is delivered to the sword: draw her and all her multitudes.
21强壮的勇士要在阴间对埃及王和他的盟友说话；他们未受割礼，被刀剑所杀，已经坠落躺下。The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hell with them that help him: they are gone down, they lie uncircumcised, slain by the sword.
22“亚述和它的全军在那里，四围都是坟墓；他们全都是被杀倒在刀下的人。Asshur is there and all her company: his graves are about him: all of them slain, fallen by the sword:
23他们的坟墓在地府极深之处，它的众军环绕它的坟墓，他们全都是被杀倒在刀下的人，曾在活人之地使人惊恐。Whose graves are set in the sides of the pit, and her company is round about her grave: all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which caused terror in the land of the living.
24“以拦在那里，它的全军环绕它的坟墓；他们全都是被杀倒在刀下、未受割礼而到地底下的，曾在活人之地使人惊恐；他们与下到地府的人一同担当羞辱。There is Elam and all her multitude round about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which are gone down uncircumcised into the nether parts of the earth, which caused their terror in the land of the living; yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit.
25人为它和它的军队在被杀的人中设立床榻，四围都是坟墓；他们都是未受割礼被刀所杀的，曾在活人之地使人惊恐；他们与下到地府的人一同担当羞辱。以拦已列在被杀的人中。They have set her a bed in the midst of the slain with all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword: though their terror was caused in the land of the living, yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit: he is put in the midst of them that be slain.
26“米设、土巴和他们的全军都在那里，四围都是坟墓；他们都是未受割礼被刀所杀的，曾在活人之地使人惊恐。There is Meshech, Tubal, and all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, though they caused their terror in the land of the living.
27他们不得与那未受割礼☛“那未受割礼”：七十士译本和其他古译本是“古代”。仆倒的勇士躺在一起；这些勇士带着兵器下到阴间，头枕着刀剑，骨头带着本身的罪孽，曾在活人之地使人惊恐。And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, which are gone down to hell with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.
28法老啊，你必与未受割礼的人一起毁灭，与被刀所杀的人躺在一起。Yea, thou shalt be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised, and shalt lie with them that are slain with the sword.
29“以东在那里，它的君王和所有官长虽然英勇，还是与被刀所杀的人同列；他们必与未受割礼的和下到地府的人躺在一起。There is Edom, her kings, and all her princes, which with their might are laid by them that were slain by the sword: they shall lie with the uncircumcised, and with them that go down to the pit.
30“在那里有北方的众王子和所有的西顿人，全都与被杀的人一同下去。他们虽然英勇，使人惊恐，还是蒙羞。他们未受割礼，和被刀所杀的人躺在一起，与下到地府的人一同担当羞辱。There be the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Zidonians, which are gone down with the slain; with their terror they are ashamed of their might; and they lie uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword, and bear their shame with them that go down to the pit.
31“法老看见他们，就为他的军兵，就是被刀所杀属法老的人和他的全军感到安慰。这是主耶和华说的。Pharaoh shall see them, and shall be comforted over all his multitude, even Pharaoh and all his army slain by the sword, saith the Lord GOD.
32我任凭法老在活人之地使人惊恐，法老和他的军兵必躺在未受割礼和被刀所杀的人中。这是主耶和华说的。”For I have caused my terror in the land of the living: and he shall be laid in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that are slain with the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
