神眷顾以色列
耶和华的话临到我，说：
Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2“你去向耶路撒冷居民的耳朵呼喊，耶和华如此说： ‘你年轻时的恩爱， 新婚时的爱情， 你怎样在旷野， 在未耕种之地跟随我， 我都记得。Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.
3那时以色列归耶和华为圣， 作为他初熟的土产； 凡吞吃它的必算为有罪， 灾祸必临到他们。 这是耶和华说的。’”Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD.
以色列祖先的罪恶
4雅各家，以色列家的各族啊，当听耶和华的话，Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:
5耶和华如此说： “你们的祖先看我有什么错处， 竟远离我，随从那虚无的神明☛“虚无的神明”：原文是“虚无”。， 自己成为虚无呢？Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?
6他们并不问： ‘那领我们从埃及地上来， 引导我们走过旷野、沙漠有坑洞之地， 走过干旱死荫、无人经过、 无人居住之地的耶和华在哪里呢？’Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?
7我领你们进入肥沃之地， 使你们得吃其中的果子和美物； 你们进入时，却使我的地玷污， 使我的产业成为可憎的。And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.
8祭司从来不问：‘耶和华在哪里呢？’ 传讲律法的不认识我， 官长违背我， 先知藉巴力说预言， 随从无益的东西。”神谴责他的子民
The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
9“我因此必与你们争辩， 也与你们的子孙争辩。 这是耶和华说的。Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children's children will I plead.
10你们且渡到基提海岛察看， 派人往基达去留心查考， 看可曾有过这样的事。For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.
11岂有一国换了它的神明吗？ 其实那不是神明！ 但我的百姓将他们的荣耀换了那无益的东西。Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
12诸天哪，要因此震惊， 颤栗，极其凄凉！ 这是耶和华说的。Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.
13因为我的百姓做了两件恶事： 离弃我这活水的泉源； 又为自己凿出水池， 却是破裂不能储水的池子。”以色列不忠的结局
For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
14“以色列是仆人吗？ 是家中生的奴仆吗？ 为何成为掠物呢？Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled?
15少壮狮子向它咆哮，大声吼叫， 使它的地荒芜； 城镇烧毁，无人居住。The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.
16挪弗☛“挪弗”即埃及的孟斐斯；本卷书44．1，46．14、19同。人和答比匿人打破你的头颅。Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of thy head.
17这不是你自己招惹的吗？ 不是因耶和华－你神引导你行路时， 你离弃了他吗？Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, when he led thee by the way?
18现今你为何在埃及路上喝西曷河☛“西曷河”是尼罗河的支流。的水呢？ 为何在亚述路上喝大河的水呢？And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?
19你自己的恶必惩治你， 你背道的事必责罚你。 由此可知可见，你离弃耶和华－你的神， 不存敬畏我的心， 实为恶事，为苦事； 这是万军之主耶和华说的。”以色列拒绝敬拜耶和华
Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
20“你☛“你”是根据七十士译本；原文是“我”。在古时折断你的轭，解开你的绳索， 说：‘我必不事奉耶和华☛“不事奉耶和华”：原文另译“不作恶”。。’ 你在各高冈上、各青翠的树下屈身行淫。For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.
21然而，我栽种你为上等的葡萄树， 全用纯正的种子； 你怎么向我变为外邦葡萄树的坏枝子呢？Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?
22你虽用碱、多用皂荚清洗， 你罪孽的痕迹仍显在我面前。 这是主耶和华说的。For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD.
23你怎能说： ‘我没有玷污，没有随从巴力’？ 看看你在谷中所做的，思想你自己的所作所为； 你是快行的独峰驼，狂奔乱闯。How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways;
24你是野驴，习惯旷野， 欲心发动时就呼吸急促， 发情时谁能使它转回呢？ 凡寻找它的必不费力， 在它的季节必能寻见它。A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.
25你不要弄到赤足而行， 喉咙干渴。 你却说：‘没有用的， 我喜爱陌生人， 我必随从他们。’”以色列该受惩罚
Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.
26“贼被捉拿，怎样羞愧， 以色列家和他们的君王、官长、 祭司、先知也都照样羞愧。As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets,
27他们向木头说：‘你是我的父’； 向石头说：‘你是生我的。’ 他们以背向我， 不肯以面向我； 及至遭遇患难时却说： ‘起来拯救我们吧！’Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.
28你为自己做的神明在哪里呢？ 你遭遇患难的时候， 让它们起来拯救你吧！ 犹大啊，你神明的数目与你城的数目相等。But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.
29“你们为何与我争辩呢？ 你们都违背了我。 这是耶和华说的。Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the LORD.
30我责打你们的儿女是徒然的， 他们不受管教。 你们自己的刀吞灭你们的先知， 好像残害人的狮子。In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
31这世代的人哪， 你们要留意耶和华的话。 我向以色列岂是旷野， 或幽暗之地呢？ 我的百姓为何说： ‘我们脱离约束，不再归向你了’？O generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?
32少女岂能忘记她的妆饰呢？ 新娘岂能忘记她的美衣呢？ 我的百姓却在无数的日子里忘记了我！Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.
33“你竟然如此精于求爱之道， 可把你的门径教邪恶的女人！Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways.
34你衣服的边上有无辜贫穷人的血， 其实你并未发现他们挖洞进屋偷窃☛参出22．2。。 虽有这一切的事☛“其实...一切的事，”七十士译本是“我并没有在洞里找到他们，而是在每棵橡树底下。”，Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.
35你还说：‘我无辜； 耶和华的怒气必定转离我了。’ 看哪，我必审问你； 因你自己说：‘我没有犯罪。’Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned.
36你为何东奔西跑改变你的道路呢？ 你必因埃及蒙羞， 像从前因亚述蒙羞一样。Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria.
37你也必两手抱头离开这里； 因为耶和华已经弃绝你所倚靠的， 你不能因他们而得顺利。”Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: for the LORD hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them.
