有关非利士的话
在法老攻击迦萨之前，耶和华论非利士人的话临到耶利米先知。
The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before that Pharaoh smote Gaza.
2耶和华如此说： 看哪，有水从北方涨起，成为涨溢的河， 要淹没全地和其中所充满的， 淹没城和城里的居民。 人必呼喊， 境内的居民都必哀号。Thus saith the LORD; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl.
3一听见敌人壮马蹄踏的响声、 战车隆隆、车轮轰轰， 为父的手就发软， 不能回头看顾儿女。At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong horses, at the rushing of his chariots, and at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to their children for feebleness of hands;
4因为日子将到， 耶和华必毁灭所有非利士人， 剪除推罗、西顿仅存的帮助者； 他要毁灭非利士人、 迦斐托海岛剩余的人。Because of the day that cometh to spoil all the Philistines, and to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remaineth: for the LORD will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.
5迦萨成了光秃， 亚实基伦归于无有。 平原☛“平原”：七十士译本是“亚衲族”。中所剩的啊， 你割划自己，要到几时呢？Baldness is come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off with the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself?
6耶和华的刀剑哪，你要到几时才止息呢？ 要入鞘，安静不动。O thou sword of the LORD, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.
7耶和华吩咐它攻击亚实基伦和海边之地， 既已派定它，你☛“你”：七十士译本是“它”。怎能静止不动呢？How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.
