论亚扪人。
耶和华如此说： 以色列没有儿子吗？ 没有后嗣吗？ 米勒公☛“米勒公”是根据七十士译本和其他古译本，亚扪人神明的名字，又名“摩洛”；原文是“他们的王”，音译“玛勒堪”；下同。为何承受迦得为业呢？ 属它的百姓为何住其中的城镇呢？Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?
2看哪，日子将到，我必使人听见打仗的喊声， 攻击亚扪人所住的拉巴的喊声。 拉巴要成为废墟， 属它的乡镇☛“乡镇”：原文直译“女子们”；下同。要被火焚烧。 这是耶和华说的。 先前承受以色列为业的， 此时以色列倒要承受他们为业。 这是耶和华说的。Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the LORD.
3希实本哪，要哀号， 因为爱地已成荒地。 拉巴的乡镇哪，要呼喊， 以麻布束腰； 要哭号，在篱笆中往来奔跑； 因米勒公和它的祭司、 官长要一同被掳去。Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled: cry, ye daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run to and fro by the hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and his princes together.
4背道的民☛“民”：原文直译“女子”。哪， 你为何因有山谷， 因有水流的山谷夸耀呢？ 为何倚靠自己的财宝，说： “谁能来到我们这里呢？”Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me?
5万军之主耶和华说： 看哪，我要使惊吓从四围的邻邦临到你们； 你们必被赶出， 各人一直往前， 无人收容难民。Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wandereth.
6但后来，我却要使被掳的亚扪人归回。这是耶和华说的。And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith the LORD.
有关以东的话
7论以东。 万军之耶和华如此说： 提幔不再有智慧了吗？ 聪明人的谋略都用尽了吗？ 他们的智慧尽归无有了吗？Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts; Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?
8底但的居民哪，要转身逃跑， 住在深密处； 因为我惩罚以扫的时候， 必使灾殃临到他。Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him.
9摘葡萄的若来到你那里， 岂不留下几串吗？ 贼若夜间来到， 岂不是只毁坏他们要毁坏的吗？If grapegatherers come to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough.
10我却使以扫赤裸， 暴露他的藏身处； 他不能隐藏自己。 他的后裔、弟兄、邻舍全都灭绝， 他也归于无有。But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.
11你撇下孤儿，我必保全他们的性命； 你的寡妇可以倚靠我。Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.
12耶和华如此说：“看哪，既然原不该喝那杯的一定要喝，你能免去惩罚吗？必不能免，一定要喝！For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink of it.
13我指着自己起誓，波斯拉必令人惊骇、受羞辱、被诅咒，并且全然荒废。它所有的城镇都要永远成为废墟。这是耶和华说的。”For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.
14我从耶和华那里听见消息， 有使者被差往列国去，说： “你们要聚集前来攻击以东， 要起来争战。”I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.
15看哪，我使你在列国中为最小， 在世人中被藐视。For, lo, I will make thee small among the heathen, and despised among men.
16住在山穴中盘据山顶的啊， 你被自己的声势与心中的狂傲所蒙蔽； 你虽如大鹰高高搭窝， 我却要从那里拉你下来。 这是耶和华说的。Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.
17以东必令人惊骇；凡经过的人都惊骇，又因它一切的灾祸嗤笑。Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.
18耶和华说：它要像所多玛、蛾摩拉和邻近的城镇一样倾覆，必无人住在那里，也无人在其中寄居。As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.
19看哪，就像狮子从约旦河边的丛林上来，攻击坚固的居所，我要在转眼之间使以东人逃跑，离开这地。我拣选谁，就派谁治理这地。谁能像我呢？谁能召我出庭呢？☛“谁能召我出庭呢？”原文另译“谁能与我相比呢？”有哪一个牧人能在我面前站得住呢？Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?
20你们要听耶和华攻击以东所定的计划和他攻击提幔居民所定的旨意。他们羊群当中微弱的定要被拖走，他们的草场定要变为荒凉。Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.
21因他们仆倒的声音，地就震动，哀号的声音传到红海☛“红海”是根据七十士译本；原文是“芦苇海”。那里。The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red sea.
22看哪，仇敌必如大鹰飞起，展开翅膀攻击波斯拉。到那日，以东的勇士心中疼痛如临产的妇人。Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
有关大马士革的话
23论大马士革。 哈马和亚珥拔蒙羞， 因为他们听见凶恶的消息就融化； 焦虑像海浪汹涌，不得平静。Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.
24大马士革发软，转身逃跑； 战兢将它捉住， 痛苦忧愁将它抓住， 如临产的妇人一样。Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.
25我所喜乐受称赞的城， 怎能被撇弃☛“怎能被撇弃”是根据一些古译本；原文是“怎能不被撇弃”。呢？How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!
26它的壮丁必仆倒在街上， 当那日，战士全都静默无声。 这是万军之耶和华说的。Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts.
27我必用火点燃大马士革的城墙， 烧灭便．哈达的宫殿。And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Benhadad.
有关基达和夏琐的话
28论巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒所攻打的基达和夏琐诸国。 耶和华如此说： 迦勒底人哪，起来上基达去， 毁灭东方人。Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon shall smite, thus saith the LORD; Arise ye, go up to Kedar, and spoil the men of the east.
29人要夺去他们的帐棚和羊群， 人要带走他们的幔子、一切器皿，和骆驼，占为己有。 人向他们喊着说： 四围都有惊吓。Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry unto them, Fear is on every side.
30夏琐的居民哪，要逃奔远方， 住在深密处； 因为巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒设计谋害你们， 起意攻击你们。 这是耶和华说的。Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you.
31迦勒底人哪，起来！ 上到安逸无虑的国民那里去， 他们是无门无闩、单独居住的。 这是耶和华说的。Arise, get you up unto the wealthy nation, that dwelleth without care, saith the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars, which dwell alone.
32他们的骆驼必成为掠物， 他们众多的牲畜必成为掳物。 我要将剃鬓发的人分散四方☛“方”：原文是“风”；下同。， 使灾殃从四围临到他们。 这是耶和华说的。And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter into all winds them that are in the utmost corners; and I will bring their calamity from all sides thereof, saith the LORD.
33夏琐必成为野狗的住处， 永远荒废； 无人住在那里， 也无人在其中寄居。And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and a desolation for ever: there shall no man abide there, nor any son of man dwell in it.
有关以拦的话
34犹大王西底家登基的时候，耶和华论以拦的话临到耶利米先知，说：The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,
35“万军之耶和华如此说：看哪，我必折断以拦人的弓，那是他们战斗的主力。Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.
36我要使风从天的四方刮来，临到以拦，将他们分散四方。以拦被赶散的人没有一国不到的。And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.
37我必使以拦人在仇敌和寻索其命的人面前惊惶；我也必使灾祸，就是我的烈怒临到他们，又必使刀剑追杀他们，直到将他们灭尽。这是耶和华说的。For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:
38我要在以拦设立我的宝座，在那里除灭君王和官长。这是耶和华说的。And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the LORD.
39“到末后，我却要使被掳的以拦人归回。这是耶和华说的。”But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the LORD.
