以撒出生
耶和华照着他所说的眷顾撒拉，耶和华实现了他对撒拉的应许。
And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
2亚伯拉罕年老，到神对他说的那所定的时候，撒拉怀了孕，给他生了一个儿子。For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
3亚伯拉罕给撒拉所生的儿子起名叫以撒。And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.
4以撒出生后第八日，亚伯拉罕遵照神所吩咐的，为以撒行割礼。And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.
5他儿子以撒出生的时候，亚伯拉罕年一百岁。And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
6撒拉说：“神使我欢笑，凡听见的人必与我一同欢笑”，And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.
7又说：“谁能预先对亚伯拉罕说，撒拉要乳养孩子呢？因为在他年老的时候，我为他生了一个儿子。”And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.
8孩子渐渐长大，就断了奶。以撒断奶的那一天，亚伯拉罕摆设丰盛的宴席。And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.
夏甲和以实玛利被逐
9那时，撒拉看见埃及人夏甲为亚伯拉罕所生的儿子戏笑，And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.
10就对亚伯拉罕说：“你把这使女和她儿子赶出去！因为这使女的儿子不可与我的儿子以撒一同承受产业。”Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
11亚伯拉罕为这事非常忧愁，因为关乎他的儿子。And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son.
12神对亚伯拉罕说：“你不必为这孩子和你的使女忧愁。撒拉对你说的话，你都要听从；因为从以撒生的，才要称为你的后裔。And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
13至于使女的儿子，我也必使他成为一国，因为他是你的后裔。”And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.
14亚伯拉罕清早起来，拿饼和一皮袋水，给了夏甲，搭在她肩上，把她和孩子一起送走。夏甲就走了，但她却在别是巴的旷野流浪。And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.
15皮袋的水用完了，夏甲就把孩子放在一棵小树下，And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
16自己走开约有一箭之远，相对而坐，说：“我不忍心看见孩子死”。她就坐在对面，放声大哭。And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bow shot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.
17神听见孩子的声音，神的使者就从天上呼叫夏甲说：“夏甲，你为何这样呢？不要害怕，神已经听见孩子在那里的声音了。And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.
18起来！把孩子扶起来，用你的手握住他，因我必使他成为大国。”Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.
19神开了夏甲的眼睛，她就看见一口水井。她就去，把皮袋装满了水，给孩子喝。And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.
20神与这孩子同在，他就渐渐长大，住在旷野，成了一个弓箭手。And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.
21他住在巴兰的旷野；他母亲从埃及地为他娶了一个妻子。And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.
亚伯拉罕与亚比米勒立约
22那时候，亚比米勒和他的将军非各对亚伯拉罕说：“凡你所做的事，神都与你同在。And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest:
23我愿你如今在这里指着神对我起誓，不要亏待我和我的儿子，以及我的子孙。我怎样忠诚待你，你也要照样忠诚待我和你所寄居的这地。”Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.
24亚伯拉罕说：“我愿意起誓。”And Abraham said, I will swear.
25先前，亚比米勒的仆人霸占了一口水井，亚伯拉罕为这事责备亚比米勒。And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away.
26亚比米勒说：“我不知道谁做了这事，你也没有告诉我，我到今日才听到。”And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing: neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day.
27亚伯拉罕把羊和牛给了亚比米勒，二人就彼此立约。And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.
28亚伯拉罕把七只小母羊另放在一处。And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.
29亚比米勒对亚伯拉罕说：“你把这七只小母羊另放一处是什么意思呢？”And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves?
30他说：“你要从我手里接受这七只小母羊，作我挖了这口井的证据。”And he said, For these seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well.
31所以他给那地方起名叫别是巴☛“别是巴”意思是“盟誓的井”。，因为他们二人在那里起了誓。Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they sware both of them.
32他们在别是巴立了约，亚比米勒就和他的将军非各起身回非利士人的地去了。Thus they made a covenant at Beersheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.
33亚伯拉罕就在别是巴种了一棵柳树，在那里求告耶和华—永恒神的名。And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God.
34亚伯拉罕在非利士人的地寄居了许多日子。And Abraham sojourned in the Philistines' land many days.
