神在伯特利赐福雅各
神对雅各说：“起来！上伯特利去，住在那里。在那里筑一座坛给神，就是你逃避你哥哥以扫的时候向你显现的神。”
And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.
2雅各就对他家中的人，以及所有和他一起的人说：“除掉你们中间外邦的神明，要自洁，更换衣服。Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:
3我们要起来，上伯特利去，在那里我要筑一座坛给神，就是在我遭难的日子应允我，在我行走的路上与我同在的神。”And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.
4他们就把手中所有外邦的神明和自己耳朵上的环子交给雅各；雅各把它们埋在示剑那里的橡树下。And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.
5他们起行。神使周围城镇的人都惊恐，就不追赶雅各的儿子们了。And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.
6于是雅各和所有与他一起的人到了迦南地的路斯，就是伯特利。So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Bethel, he and all the people that were with him.
7他在那里筑了一座坛，给那地方起名叫伊勒．伯特利☛“伊勒．伯特利”意思是“伯特利之神”。，因为他逃避他哥哥的时候，神曾在那里向他显现。And he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.
8利百加的奶妈底波拉死了，葬在伯特利下边的橡树下；那棵树名叫亚伦．巴古。But Deborah Rebekah's nurse died, and she was buried beneath Bethel under an oak: and the name of it was called Allonbachuth.
9雅各从巴旦．亚兰回来，神又向他显现，赐福给他。And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him.
10神对他说：“你的名原是雅各，从今以后不要再叫雅各，你的名要叫以色列。”于是，神就叫他的名为以色列。And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.
11神又对他说：“我是全能的神；你要生养众多，将来有一国和许多的国从你而来，又有许多君王从你生出☛“从你生出”：原文是“从你腰间而出”。。And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
12至于我赐给亚伯拉罕和以撒的地，我必赐给你；我必赐这地给你的后裔。”And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.
13神就从与雅各说话的那地方升上去了。And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.
14雅各就在神与他说话的地方立了一根柱子，就是石柱，在它上面献浇酒祭，又浇油。And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.
15雅各就给神与他说话的那地方起名叫伯特利。And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Bethel.
拉结去世
16他们从伯特利起行，到以法他还有一段路程，拉结生产，生得十分艰难。And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.
17她生得十分艰难的时候，接生婆对她说：“不要怕，你又要有一个儿子了。”And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.
18她快要死，还有一口气的时候，就给她儿子起名叫便．俄尼☛“便．俄尼”意思是“我忧伤之子”。；他父亲却给他起名叫便雅悯☛“便雅悯”意思是“我右手之子”。。And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin.
19拉结死了，葬在往以法他的路旁；以法他就是伯利恒。And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.
20雅各在她的坟上立了一块碑，就是拉结的墓碑，到今日还在。And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel's grave unto this day.
21以色列起行，在以得台的那一边支搭帐棚。雅各的儿子们

And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.
22以色列住在那地的时候，吕便去与他父亲的妾辟拉同寝，以色列也听见了这件事☛“以色列也听见了这件事”：七十士译本是“以色列听见这事，就看为恶”。。雅各共有十二个儿子。
And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:
23利亚的儿子是雅各的长子吕便，还有西缅、利未、犹大、以萨迦、西布伦。The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:
24拉结的儿子是约瑟、便雅悯。The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:
25拉结的婢女辟拉的儿子是但、拿弗他利。And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:
26利亚的婢女悉帕的儿子是迦得、亚设。这是雅各在巴旦．亚兰所生的儿子。And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padanaram.
以撒的死
27雅各来到他父亲以撒那里，到了幔利，基列．亚巴，就是希伯仑，是亚伯拉罕和以撒寄居的地方。And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.
28以撒共活了一百八十年。And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.
29以撒年纪老迈，安享天年，息劳而终，归到他祖先☛“他祖先”：原文是“他百姓”。那里。他两个儿子以扫和雅各把他安葬了。And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
