约瑟为囚犯解梦
这些事以后，埃及王的司酒长和司膳长得罪了他们的主埃及王。
And it came to pass after these things, that the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker had offended their lord the king of Egypt.
2法老就对司酒长和司膳长两个官员发怒，And Pharaoh was wroth against two of his officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers.
3把他们关在护卫长府内的监狱里，就是约瑟被囚的地方。And he put them in ward in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound.
4护卫长把他们交给约瑟，约瑟就伺候他们。他们被关了一段日子。And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them: and they continued a season in ward.
5关在监狱里的这两个人，就是埃及王的司酒长和司膳长，在同一个晚上各自做了一个梦，每个梦都有自己的解释。And they dreamed a dream both of them, each man his dream in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, which were bound in the prison.
6到了早晨，约瑟来到他们那里看他们，看哪，他们很忧愁。And Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and looked upon them, and, behold, they were sad.
7他就问一同关在他主人府内法老的官员，说：“你们今日为什么面带愁容呢？”And he asked Pharaoh's officers that were with him in the ward of his lord's house, saying, Wherefore look ye so sadly to day?
8他们对他说：“我们各自做了一个梦，却没有人能讲解。”约瑟对他们说：“解梦不是出于神吗？请你们把梦告诉我。”And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.
9司酒长就把梦告诉约瑟，对他说：“在我的梦中，看哪，有一棵葡萄树在我面前，And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me;
10树上有三根枝子。枝子发了芽，开了花，结出串串成熟的葡萄。And in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes:
11法老的杯在我手中，我就拿葡萄挤在法老的杯里，把杯递到他手中。”And Pharaoh's cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand.
12约瑟对他说：“梦的解释是这样：三根枝子就是三天；And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:
13三天之内，法老要让你抬起头来，叫你官复原职。你仍要递杯在法老的手中，像先前作他的司酒长一样。Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.
14但你得福的时候，请你记得我，向我施慈爱，在法老面前提起我，救我出这监牢。But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:
15我实在是从希伯来人之地被拐来的，我在这里也没有做过什么，好叫他们把我关在牢里。”For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.
16司膳长见梦解得好，就对约瑟说：“在我梦中，看哪，我头上顶着三个装饼的篮子；When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I also was in my dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets on my head:
17最上面的篮子里有为法老烤的各样食物，有飞鸟来吃我头上篮子里的食物。”And in the uppermost basket there was of all manner of bakemeats for Pharaoh; and the birds did eat them out of the basket upon my head.
18约瑟说：“梦的解释是这样：三个篮子就是三天；And Joseph answered and said, This is the interpretation thereof: The three baskets are three days:
19三天之内，法老要让你抬起头来，身首异处，把你挂在木架上，必有飞鸟来吃你身上的肉。”Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee.
20到了第三天，正是法老的生日，他为众臣仆摆设宴席，使司酒长和司膳长从众臣仆中抬起头来，And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.
21让司酒长官复原职，仍旧递杯在法老手中，And he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand:
22却把司膳长挂起来，正如约瑟向他们所讲解的。But he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them.
23然而，司酒长不记得约瑟，竟忘了他。Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.
