论大马士革的默示。
看哪，大马士革不再为城市， 变为废墟。The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
2亚罗珥的城镇被撇弃☛“亚罗珥...被撇弃”：七十士译本是“永远被撇弃”。， 将成为牧羊之处， 羊群在那里躺卧， 无人使它们惊吓。The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
3以法莲不再有堡垒， 大马士革失去其王国， 亚兰的百姓所剩无几， 如以色列人的荣美消失一般； 这是万军之耶和华说的。The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts.
4到那日，雅各的荣美必失色， 它肥胖的身躯渐渐消瘦；And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean.
5像人收割成熟的禾稼， 用手臂割取麦穗， 又像人在利乏音谷拾取穗子；And it shall be as when the harvestman gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of Rephaim.
6其间所剩不多，好像人打橄榄树， 在最高的树梢上只剩两、三颗橄榄， 在多结果子的旁枝上只剩四、五颗； 这是耶和华－以色列的神说的。Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost fruitful branches thereof, saith the LORD God of Israel.
7当那日，人必仰望造他们的主，眼目看着以色列的圣者。At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.
8他们必不仰望自己手所筑的祭坛，也不理会自己指头所造的亚舍拉和香坛。And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall respect that which his fingers have made, either the groves, or the images.
9当那日，他们坚固的城必因以色列人的缘故，如同树林中和山顶上所撇弃的地方☛“如同...地方”：七十士译本是“如同亚摩利人和希未人所抛弃的城市”。。这样，地就荒芜了。In that day shall his strong cities be as a forsaken bough, and an uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel: and there shall be desolation.
10因你忘记拯救你的神， 忘记那保护你的磐石； 所以，你虽栽上佳美的树苗， 插上别样的枝子，Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength, therefore shalt thou plant pleasant plants, and shalt set it with strange slips:
11栽种的日子，你使它生长， 栽种的早晨，你使它开花， 但在愁苦、极其伤痛的日子， 所收割的都归无有。敌国都被击败
In the day shalt thou make thy plant to grow, and in the morning shalt thou make thy seed to flourish: but the harvest shall be a heap in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow.
12唉！万民闹哄，好像海浪澎湃， 列邦喧闹，如同洪水滔滔，Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!
13列邦喧闹，如同大水滔滔； 但神一斥责，他们就远远躲避， 他们被追赶，如同山上风前的糠秕， 又如暴风前的碎秸；The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.
14看哪，晚上有惊吓，未到早晨它就消失无踪。 这是掳掠我们之人的厄运，是抢夺我们之人的报应。And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.
