The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.
2你们要在荒凉的山上竖立大旗， 向他们扬声， 挥手招呼他们进入贵族之门。Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
3我吩咐我所分别为圣的人， 召唤我的勇士， 就是我那狂喜高傲的人， 为要执行我的怒气。I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.
4听啊，山间有喧闹的声音， 好像有许多百姓聚集， 听啊，多国之民聚集闹哄的声音； 这是万军之耶和华召集作战的军队。The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.
5他们从远方来， 从天边来， 耶和华和他恼恨的兵器 要毁灭全地。They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.
6你们要哀号， 因为耶和华的日子临近了！ 这日来到，好像毁灭从全能者来到。Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
7因此，人的手都变软弱， 人的心都必惶惶。Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:
8他们必惊恐， 悲痛和愁苦将他们抓住。 他们阵痛，好像临产的妇人一样， 彼此惊奇对看，脸如火焰。And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.
9看哪！耶和华的日子临到， 必有残忍、愤恨、烈怒， 使这地荒芜， 除灭其中的罪人。Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
10天上的星宿都不发光， 太阳一升起就变黑暗， 月亮也不放光。For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
11我必因邪恶惩罚世界， 因罪孽惩罚恶人， 我要止息骄傲人的狂妄， 制伏残暴者的傲慢。And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
12我要使人比纯金更少， 比俄斐的赤金还少。I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13我，万军之耶和华狂怒，就是发烈怒的日子， 要令天震动， 地必摇撼，离其本位。Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
14人如被追赶的羚羊， 像无人聚集的羊群， 各自归回本族， 逃到本地。And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.
15凡被追上的必被刺死， 凡被捉拿的必倒在刀下。Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.
16他们的婴孩必在他们眼前被摔死， 他们的房屋被抢劫， 他们的妻子被污辱。Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.
17看哪，我必激起玛代人攻击他们， 玛代人并不看重银子， 也不喜爱金子。Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.
18他们必用弓击溃青年， 不怜悯妇人所生的； 眼也不顾惜孩子。Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.
19巴比伦为列国的荣耀， 为迦勒底人所夸耀的华美， 必像神所倾覆的所多玛、蛾摩拉一样；And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
20国中必永无人烟， 世世代代无人居住； 阿拉伯人不在那里支搭帐棚， 牧羊的人也不使羊群躺卧在那里。It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.
21旷野的走兽躺卧在那里， 咆哮的动物挤满栖身之所； 鸵鸟住在那里， 山羊鬼魔也在那里跳舞。But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
22土狼必在它的宫殿☛“宫殿”是根据一些古译本；原文是“寡妇”。 呼号， 野狗在华美的殿里吼叫。 巴比伦的时辰临近了， 它的日子必不长久。And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.
