约柜迁出基列．耶琳
（撒下6．1－11）
大卫与千夫长、百夫长，以及所有的领袖商议。
And David consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader.
2大卫对以色列全会众说：“你们若以为好，见这事是出于耶和华－我们的神，我们就派人到远近各处去见仍留在以色列各地我们的弟兄，以及住在有郊野之城的祭司和利未人，使他们都到我们这里来聚集。And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the LORD our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:
3我们要把神的约柜接到这里来；因为在扫罗年间，我们没有去寻求约柜☛“约柜”或译“神”。。”And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul.
4全会众都说可以这么做，因这事在众百姓眼中都看为好。And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
5于是，大卫把以色列众人从埃及的西曷河直到哈马口都召集了来，要从基列．耶琳将神的约柜接来。So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjathjearim.
6大卫率领以色列众人上到巴拉，就是属犹大的基列．耶琳，要将耶和华神的约柜从那里接上来，他坐在二基路伯之上，这约柜是以他的名来命名的。And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjathjearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is called on it.
7他们将神的约柜从亚比拿达的家里抬出来，放在新车上，由乌撒和亚希约赶车。And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.
8大卫和以色列众人在神面前随着诗歌、琴、瑟、鼓、钹、号，极力跳舞。And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
9到了基顿☛“基顿”：撒下6．6是“拿艮”。的禾场，因为牛失前蹄☛“失前蹄”或译“惊跳”。，乌撒就伸手扶住约柜。And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.
10耶和华的怒气向乌撒发作，因他伸手扶住约柜而击杀他，他就死在那里，在神面前。And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.
11大卫因耶和华突然冲出撞死乌撒就生气，称那地方为毗列斯．乌撒，直到今日。And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perezuzza to this day.
12那日，大卫惧怕神，说：“我怎能将神的约柜接到我这里来呢？”And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?
13于是大卫不将约柜接进大卫城他自己的地方，却转送到迦特人俄别．以东的家中。So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.
14神的约柜停在俄别．以东家中三个月，耶和华赐福给俄别．以东的家和他一切所有的。And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obededom, and all that he had.
