大卫在耶路撒冷的活动
（撒下5．11－16）
推罗王希兰派使者把香柏木运到大卫那里，又派石匠和木匠给大卫建造宫殿。
Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.
2大卫知道耶和华坚立他作以色列王，又为自己百姓以色列的缘故，使他的国兴盛。And David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.
3大卫在耶路撒冷又立后妃，又生儿女。And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.
4在耶路撒冷所生的孩子名字是沙母亚☛“沙母亚”：代上3．5称“示米亚”。、朔罢、拿单、所罗门、Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
5益辖、以利书亚☛“以利书亚”：代上3．6称“以利沙玛”。、以法列☛“以法列”：代上3．6称“以利法列”。、And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,
6挪迦、尼斐、雅非亚、And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
7以利沙玛、比利雅大☛“比利雅大”：撒下5．16，代上3．8称“以利雅大”。、以利法列。战胜非利士人
（撒下5．17－25）
And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.
8非利士人听见大卫受膏作全以色列的王，非利士众人就上来寻索大卫。大卫听见了，就出去迎敌。And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.
9非利士人来了，侵犯利乏音谷。And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
10大卫求问神说：“我可以上去攻打非利士人吗？你将他们交在我手里吗？”耶和华对他说：“你可以上去，我必将他们交在你手里。”And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.
11非利士人上到巴力．毗拉心，大卫在那里击败他们。大卫说：“神藉我的手冲破敌人，如水冲破一样。”因此那地方称为巴力．毗拉心。So they came up to Baalperazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baalperazim.
12非利士人把神像抛弃在那里，大卫吩咐人用火焚烧了。And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.
13非利士人又侵犯利乏音谷。And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.
14大卫再求问神。神对他说：“不要从他们后头追上去，要绕道离开他们，从桑树林对面攻打他们。Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
15你听见桑树梢上有脚步的声音，那时你就要出战，因为神已经出去，在你前头攻打非利士人的军队了。”And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.
16大卫就遵照神所吩咐的去做，攻打非利士人的军队，从基遍直到基色。David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.
17于是大卫的名传扬到万邦，耶和华使万国都惧怕他。And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.
