耶和华使大卫得胜
（撒下8．1－18）
此后，大卫攻打非利士人，制伏了他们，从非利士人手中夺取了迦特和所属的乡镇。
Now after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines.
2他又攻打摩押，摩押人就臣服大卫，向他进贡。And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.
3琐巴王哈大底谢☛“哈大底谢”：有许多抄本是“哈大利谢”；本卷书下同。往幼发拉底河去，要巩固自己的国权。大卫攻打他，直到哈马，And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to stablish his dominion by the river Euphrates.
4夺了他的战车一千，俘掳了骑兵七千人，步兵二万人。大卫把所有战马的蹄筋砍断，只留下一百辆战车。And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: David also houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them an hundred chariots.
5大马士革的亚兰人来帮助琐巴王哈大底谢，大卫杀了亚兰人二万二千。And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
6于是大卫在大马士革的亚兰地设立军营☛“设立军营”是根据一些古卷和七十士译本，原文没有“军营”；参撒下8．6。，亚兰人就臣服大卫，向他进贡。大卫无论往哪里去，耶和华都使他得胜。Then David put garrisons in Syriadamascus; and the Syrians became David's servants, and brought gifts. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
7大卫夺了哈大底谢臣仆拥有的金盾牌，带到耶路撒冷。And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8大卫又从哈大底谢的提巴和均二城夺取了许多的铜；后来所罗门用这些铜制造铜海、铜柱和铜器。Likewise from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, brought David very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brasen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.
9哈马王陀乌☛“陀乌”：撒下8．9称“陀以”；下同。听见大卫击败琐巴王哈大底谢的全军，Now when Tou king of Hamath heard how David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah;
10就派他儿子哈多兰☛“哈多兰”：撒下8．10称“约兰”。到大卫王那里，向他请安，为他祝福，因他与哈大底谢争战，并且击败了他；原来哈大底谢与陀乌常常争战。哈多兰带了金银铜的各样器皿来。He sent Hadoram his son to king David, to enquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had war with Tou;) and with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.
11大卫王把这些器皿，以及从各国夺来的金银，就是从以东、摩押、亚扪人、非利士人、亚玛力所夺来的，都分别为圣献给耶和华。Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
12洗鲁雅的儿子亚比筛在盐谷击杀了一万八千以东人。Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand.
13大卫在以东设立军营，以东人就都臣服他。大卫无论往哪里去，耶和华都使他得胜。And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became David's servants. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
14大卫作全以色列的王，又向众百姓秉公行义。So David reigned over all Israel, and executed judgment and justice among all his people.
15洗鲁雅的儿子约押作元帅；亚希律的儿子约沙法作史官；And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, recorder.
16亚希突的儿子撒督和亚比亚他的儿子亚希米勒作祭司；沙威沙作书记；And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe;
17耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅管辖基利提人和比利提人。大卫的众儿子都在王的左右作领袖。And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.
