耶和华的话临到毗土珥的儿子约珥。
百姓的悲伤
The word of the LORD that came to Joel the son of Pethuel.
2老年人哪，当听这话； 这地所有的居民哪，要侧耳而听。 在你们的日子， 或你们祖先的日子， 曾发生过这样的事吗？Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?
3你们要将这事传与子， 子传与孙， 孙传与后代。Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.
4剪虫吃剩的，蝗虫来吃； 蝗虫吃剩的，蝻子来吃； 蝻子吃剩的，蚂蚱☛剪虫、蝻子、蚂蚱都是蝗虫的一种。来吃。That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.
5醉酒的人哪，要清醒，要哭泣； 好酒的人哪，都要为甜酒哀号， 因为酒从你们的口中断绝了。Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.
6有一队蝗虫☛“一队蝗虫”：原文是“一国”；2．2同。，强盛且不可数， 上来侵犯我的地； 它的牙齿如狮子的牙齿， 如母狮的大牙。For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.
7它毁坏我的葡萄树， 撕裂我的无花果树， 剥光又丢弃，使枝条露白。He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.
8你要像童女腰束麻布， 为她年少时的丈夫哀号。Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.
9耶和华的殿中断绝素祭和浇酒祭， 事奉耶和华的祭司都悲哀。The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD's ministers, mourn.
10田荒凉，地悲哀； 因为五谷毁坏， 新酒枯竭， 新的油也缺乏。The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.
11农夫啊，你们要惭愧； 修整葡萄园的啊，你们要哀号； 因为大麦、小麦与田间的庄稼全都毁了。Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished.
12葡萄树枯干， 无花果树衰残， 石榴树、棕树、苹果树， 田野一切的树木都枯干； 众人的喜乐尽都消逝。The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.
13祭司啊，当束上麻布痛哭； 事奉祭坛的啊，要哀号； 事奉我神的啊，你们要来，披上麻布过夜， 因为在你们神的殿中不再有素祭和浇酒祭了。Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God.
14你们要使禁食的日子分别为圣， 宣告严肃会， 召集长老和这地所有的居民 来到耶和华－你们神的殿， 向耶和华哀求。Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD.
15哀哉，这日子！ 因为耶和华的日子临近， 好像毁灭从全能者来到。Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.
16粮食不是在我们眼前断绝了吗？ 欢喜快乐不是从我们神的殿中止息了吗？Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
17种子在土块下朽烂， 仓荒凉，廪破坏， 因为五谷枯干了。The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.
18牲畜哀鸣， 牛群混乱，因无草场， 羊群也受苦。How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.
19耶和华啊，我向你求告， 因为有火吞噬野地的草场， 火焰烧尽田野的树木。O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
20田野的走兽切慕你， 因为溪水干涸， 火吞噬了野地的草场。The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
蝗灾临近
你们要在锡安吹角， 在我的圣山发出警报。 这地所有的居民要发颤， 因为耶和华的日子快到， 已经临近了。Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
2那是黑暗、阴森的日子， 是密云、乌黑的日子， 如同黎明笼罩山岭。 有一队蝗虫，又大又强， 自古以来没有像这样的， 以后直到万代也必没有。A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
3它们前面有火吞噬， 后面有火焰烧尽。 它们未到以前，地如伊甸园， 过去以后，却成了荒凉的旷野， 没有一样能躲避它们。A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
4它们形状如马， 奔跑如战马。The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.
5响声如战车在山顶上跳动， 如火焰吞噬碎秸， 好像强大的军队摆阵备战。Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
6在它们面前，万民伤恸， 脸都变色。Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.
7它们如勇士奔跑， 如战士攀登城墙， 各行于自己的道路， 不乱队伍；They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:
8它们并不彼此推挤， 各行于自己的大道， 冲过防御☛“防御”：原文是“兵器”。， 并不停止。Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
9它们蹦上城， 跳上墙， 爬上房屋， 从窗户进来，如同盗贼。They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.
10在它们面前， 地动天摇， 日月昏暗， 星宿无光。The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
11耶和华在他的军旅前出声， 他的队伍庞大， 遵行他命令的强盛。 耶和华的日子大而可畏， 谁能当得起呢？呼吁百姓悔改
And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
12然而你们现在要禁食，哭泣，哀号， 一心归向我。 这是耶和华说的。Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
13你们要撕裂心肠， 不要撕裂衣服。 归向耶和华－你们的神， 因为他有恩惠，有怜悯， 不轻易发怒， 有丰盛的慈爱， 并且会改变心意， 不降那灾难。And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
14谁知道他也许会回心转意，留下余福， 就是献给耶和华－你们神的素祭和浇酒祭。Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
15你们要在锡安吹角， 使禁食的日子分别为圣， 宣告严肃会。Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
16聚集百姓，使会众自洁； 召集老年人， 聚集孩童和在母怀吃奶的； 使新郎出内室， 新娘离开洞房。Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
17事奉耶和华的祭司 要在走廊和祭坛间哭泣，说： “耶和华啊，求你顾惜你的百姓， 不要使你的产业受羞辱， 在列国中成为笑柄。 为何让人在万民中说 ‘他们的神在哪里’呢？”神再赐福泽
Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
18耶和华为自己的地发热心， 怜悯他的百姓。Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people.
19耶和华应允他的百姓说： “看哪，我要赏赐你们五谷、新酒和新的油， 使你们饱足， 我必不再使你们受列国的羞辱。Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:
20我要使北方来的队伍远离你们， 将他们赶到干旱荒芜之地： 前队赶入东海， 后队赶入西海； 臭气上升，恶臭腾空。 耶和华果然行了大事！But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.
21“土地啊，不要惧怕， 要欢喜快乐， 因为耶和华行了大事。Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.
22田野的走兽啊，不要惧怕， 因为旷野的草已生长， 树木结果， 无花果树、葡萄树也都效力☛“效力”意思是“出产丰盛”。。Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
23“锡安的民哪，你们要欢喜， 要因耶和华－你们的神快乐； 因他赏赐你们合宜的秋雨☛“因他赏赐...秋雨”或译“因他按公义赐秋雨给你们”或“因他赏赐你们公义的教师”。， 为你们降下甘霖， 秋雨和春雨，和先前一样。Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
24“禾场充满五谷， 池中漫溢新酒和新的油。And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.
25我差遣到你们中间的大军队， 就是蝗虫、蝻子、蚂蚱、剪虫， 那些年间所吃的，我要补还给你们。And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
26“你们必吃得饱足， 赞美耶和华－你们神的名， 他为你们行了奇妙的事。 我的百姓不致羞愧，直到永远。And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
27你们必知道我是在以色列中， 又知道我是耶和华－你们的神，没有别的。 我的百姓不致羞愧，直到永远。”耶和华的日子
And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
28“以后，我要将我的灵浇灌凡有血肉之躯的。 你们的儿女要说预言， 你们的老人要做异梦， 你们的少年要见异象。And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29在那些日子， 我要将我的灵浇灌我的仆人和婢女。And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
30“我要在天上地下显出奇事，有血，有火，有烟柱。And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31太阳要变为黑暗，月亮要变为血，这都在耶和华大而可畏的日子未到以前。The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
32那时，凡求告耶和华名的就必得救；因为照耶和华所说的，在锡安山，在耶路撒冷将有逃脱的人。凡耶和华所召的☛“凡耶和华所召的”或译“凡呼求耶和华的”。，都在余民之列。”And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
神要审判列国
“看哪，在那些日子，到那个时候，我使犹大和耶路撒冷被掳之人归回的时候，
For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2我要聚集万民，带他们下到约沙法谷去，在那里我要为我百姓，我产业以色列的缘故，向万民施行审判；因为他们把我的百姓分散到列国，瓜分了我的土地，I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
3为我的百姓抽签，以男孩换取妓女，为喝酒卖掉女孩。And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.
4“推罗、西顿和非利士四境的人哪，你们与我何干？你们要报复我吗？若要报复我，我必使报应速速归到你们头上。Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head;
5你们夺取我的金银，把我珍贵的宝物带入你们的庙宇☛“庙宇”或译“宫殿”。，Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:
6并将犹大人和耶路撒冷人卖给希腊人☛“希腊人”：原文是“雅完人”。，使他们远离自己的疆界。The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.
7看哪，我必激发他们离开你们把他们卖去的地方，又必使报应归到你们头上。Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own head:
8我要将你们的儿女卖到犹大人手中，他们必转卖给远方的国家示巴人。这是耶和华说的。”And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
9当在列国中宣告： 预备打仗， 激发勇士， 使所有战士上前来。Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
10要将犁头打成刀剑， 镰刀打成戈矛； 弱者要说：“我是勇士。”Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
11四围的列国啊， 你们要速速前来， 一同聚集。 耶和华啊， 求你使你的勇士降临。Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.
12列国都当兴起， 上到约沙法谷； 因为我必坐在那里， 审判四围的列国。Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
13挥镰刀吧！因为庄稼熟了； 来踩踏吧！因为榨酒池满了。 酒池已经满溢， 因为他们的罪恶甚大。Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
14在断定谷有许多许多的人， 因为耶和华的日子临近断定谷了。Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
15日月昏暗， 星宿无光。神将赐福给他的子民
The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
16耶和华必从锡安吼叫， 从耶路撒冷出声， 天地就震动。 耶和华却要作他百姓的避难所， 作以色列人的保障。The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
17你们就知道我是耶和华－你们的神， 我住在锡安－我的圣山。 耶路撒冷必成为圣； 陌生人不再从其中经过。So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.
18在那日，大山要滴甜酒， 小山要流奶， 犹大的溪河都有水流出； 必有泉源从耶和华的殿中流出， 滋润什亭谷。And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim.
19埃及必定荒凉， 以东成为荒凉的旷野， 因为他们向犹大人行残暴， 又因他们在本地流无辜人的血。Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
20但犹大必存到永远， 耶路撒冷必存到万代。But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
21我要免除☛“免除”：七十士译本是“报复”；下同。流人血的罪， 是先前未曾免除的， 耶和华居住在锡安。For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.
