神命令约书亚征服迦南
耶和华的仆人摩西死了以后，耶和华对摩西的助手嫩的儿子约书亚说：
Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,
2“我的仆人摩西死了。现在你要起来，和众百姓过这约旦河，往我所要赐给以色列人的地去。Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
3凡你们脚掌所踏之地，我都照我所应许摩西的话赐给你们了。Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
4从旷野和这黎巴嫩，直到大河，就是幼发拉底河，赫人的全地，又到大海日落的方向，都要作你们的疆土。From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.
5你一生的日子，必无人能在你面前站立得住。我怎样与摩西同在，也必照样与你同在；我必不撇下你，也不丢弃你。There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
6你当刚强壮胆，因为你必使这百姓承受那地为业，就是我向他们列祖起誓要给他们的地。Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
7只要刚强，大大壮胆，谨守遵行我仆人摩西所吩咐你的一切律法，不可偏离左右，使你无论往哪里去， 都可以顺利。Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
8这律法书不可离开你的口，总要昼夜思想☛“思想”或译“默念”。，好使你谨守遵行这书上所写的一切话。如此，你的道路就可以亨通，凡事顺利。This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
9我岂没有吩咐你吗？你当刚强壮胆，不要惧怕，也不要惊惶，因为你无论往哪里去，耶和华你的神必与你同在。”准备过约旦河
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
10于是，约书亚吩咐百姓的官长说：Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,
11“你们要走遍营中，吩咐百姓说：‘当预备食物， 因为三日之内你们要过这约旦河，进去得耶和华－你们神赐给你们为业之地。’”Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it.
12约书亚对吕便人、迦得人和玛拿西半支派的人说：And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, spake Joshua, saying,
13“你们要记得耶和华的仆人摩西所吩咐你们的话说：‘耶和华－你们的神使你们得享安宁，必将这地赐给你们。’Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, The LORD your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land.
14你们的妻子、孩子和牲畜可以留在约旦河东、摩西所给你们的地。但你们中间所有大能的勇士都要带着兵器，在你们的弟兄前面过去，你们要帮助他们。Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side Jordan; but ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and help them;
15等到耶和华使你们的弟兄和你们一样得享平静，并且得着耶和华－你们神所赐他们为业之地的时候，你们才可以回到你们所得之地，承受为业，就是耶和华的仆人摩西在约旦河东、向日出的方向所给你们的地。”Until the LORD have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Moses the LORD's servant gave you on this side Jordan toward the sunrising.
16他们回答约书亚说：“凡你吩咐我们的，我们都必做；凡你差我们去的地方，我们都必去。And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou commandest us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us, we will go.
17我们在一切事上怎样听从摩西，也必照样听从你。惟愿耶和华－你的神与你同在，像与摩西同在一样。According as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto thee: only the LORD thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.
18无论什么人违背你的命令，不听从你所吩咐他的一切话，就必处死。你只要刚强壮胆！”Whosoever he be that doth rebel against thy commandment, and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.
派探子进耶利哥
嫩的儿子约书亚从什亭暗中派两个人作探子，说：“你们去窥探那地和耶利哥。”于是二人去了，来到一个名叫喇合的妓女家里，在那里睡觉。
And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.
2有人告诉耶利哥王说：“看哪，今夜有以色列人到这里来窥探此地。”And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country.
3耶利哥王派人到喇合那里， 说：“你要交出那来到你这里、进了你家的人，因为他们来是要窥探全地。”And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country.
4但女人已把二人藏起来，却说：“那两个人确实到我这里来过，他们从哪里来，我却不知道。And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were:
5天黑、要关城门的时候，他们就出去了。他们往哪里去我也不知道。你们赶快去追他们，就必追上。”And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them.
6其实，这女人已经领二人上了屋顶，把他们藏在她摆列在屋顶的亚麻梗中。But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof.
7那些人就往约旦河的路上追赶他们，直到渡口。追赶他们的人一出去，城门就关了。And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.
8二人还没有睡之前，女人就上屋顶，到他们那里，And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof;
9对他们说：“我知道耶和华已经把这地赐给你们了，并且我们也都惧怕你们。这地所有的居民在你们面前都融化了。And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.
10因为我们听见你们出埃及的时候，耶和华怎样在你们前面使红海☛“红海”是根据七十士译本，原文是“芦苇海”；本卷书下同。的水干了，并且你们怎样处置约旦河东的两个亚摩利王，西宏和噩，把他们完全消灭。For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.
11我们一听见就胆战心惊☛“胆战心惊”：原文是“心消化了”；本卷书下同。，人人因你们的缘故勇气全失。耶和华－你们的神是天上地下的神。And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.
12现在我既然恩待你们，求你们指着耶和华向我起誓，你们也要恩待我的父家。请你们给我一个确实的凭据，Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the LORD, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token:
13要救活我的父母、兄弟、姊妹，和所有属他们的，拯救我们的性命脱离死亡。”And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.
14那二人对她说：“我们愿意以性命来替你们死。你们若不泄漏我们这件事，当耶和华将这地赐给我们的时候，我们必以慈爱和诚信待你。”And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.
15于是女人用绳子把二人从窗户缒下去，因为她的屋子是在城墙边上，她也住在城墙上。Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall.
16她对他们说：“你们暂且往山上去，免得追赶的人遇见你们。要在那里躲藏三天，等追赶的人回来，你们才可以走自己的路。”And she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way.
17二人对她说：“你叫我们所起的誓与我们无关，And the men said unto her, We will be blameless of this thine oath which thou hast made us swear.
18除非，看哪，当我们来到这地的时候，你把这条朱红线绳子系在缒我们下去的窗户上，并要叫你的父母、兄弟和你父的全家都聚集在你家中。Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household, home unto thee.
19凡离开你家门往街上去的，他的血必归到自己头上，与我们无关；凡在你家里的，若有人下手害他，他的血就归到我们头上。And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him.
20你若泄漏我们这件事，你叫我们所起的誓☛“你叫我们所起的誓”：七十士译本是“你这个誓言”。就与我们无关了。”And if thou utter this our business, then we will be quit of thine oath which thou hast made us to swear.
21女人说：“就照你们的话吧！”于是她送他们走了，就把朱红绳子系在窗户上。And she said, According unto your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the window.
22二人离开，到山上去，在那里停留三天，直等到追赶的人回去。追赶的人一路寻找，却找不着。And they went, and came unto the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not.
23二人回来，下了山，过了河，来到嫩的儿子约书亚那里，向他报告他们所遭遇的一切事。So the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all things that befell them:
24他们对约书亚说：“耶和华果然将那全地交在我们手中了，并且那地所有的居民在我们面前都融化了。”And they said unto Joshua, Truly the LORD hath delivered into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us.
以色列人过约旦河
约书亚清早起来，和以色列众人起行，离开什亭，来到约旦河，过河以前住在那里。
And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over.
2过了三天，官长走遍营中，And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the host;
3吩咐百姓说：“当你们看见利未家的祭司抬着耶和华－你们神的约柜的时候，你们就要起行离开所住的地方，跟着约柜走，And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it.
4使你们知道所当走的路，因为这条路是你们从来没有走过的。只是你们要与约柜相隔约二千肘，不可太靠近约柜。”Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore.
5约书亚吩咐百姓说：“你们要使自己分别为圣，因为明天耶和华必在你们中间行奇事。”And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the LORD will do wonders among you.
6约书亚对祭司说：“你们抬起约柜，在百姓的前面过去。”于是他们抬起约柜，走在百姓前面。And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.
7耶和华对约书亚说：“从今日起，我必使你在以色列众人眼前被尊为大，使他们知道我怎样与摩西同在，也必照样与你同在。And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.
8你要吩咐抬约柜的祭司说：‘你们到了约旦河的水边，要在约旦河中站着。’”And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the brink of the water of Jordan, ye shall stand still in Jordan.
9约书亚对以色列人说：“你们近前，到这里来，听耶和华－你们神的话。”And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD your God.
10约书亚说：“你们因这事会知道永生的神在你们中间，他必从你们面前赶出迦南人、赫人、希未人、比利洗人、革迦撒人、亚摩利人、耶布斯人。And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.
11看哪！全地之主的约柜必在你们的前面过去，到约旦河里。Behold, the ark of the covenant of the LORD of all the earth passeth over before you into Jordan.
12现在， 你们要从以色列支派中选出十二个人，每支派一人。Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man.
13当抬耶和华全地之主约柜的祭司，脚掌踏入约旦河水里的时候，约旦河的水，就是从上往下流的水，必然中断，竖立成垒。”And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the LORD of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.
14百姓起行离开帐棚过约旦河的时候，抬约柜的祭司在百姓的前面。And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people;
15那时正是收割的日子，约旦河的水涨满两岸。抬约柜的人到了约旦河，抬约柜的祭司脚一入水边，And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)
16那从上往下流的水就在很远的地方，在撒拉但旁边的亚当城那里停住，竖立成垒；那往亚拉巴海，就是盐海下流的水全然中断。于是，百姓在耶利哥的对面过了河。That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.
17抬耶和华约柜的祭司在约旦河中的干地上稳稳站着，以色列众人都从干地上过去，直到全国都过了约旦河。And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.
立石为记
当全民都过了约旦河，耶和华对约书亚说：
And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over Jordan, that the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying,
2“你要从百姓中选出十二个人，每支派一人，Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,
3吩咐他们说：‘你们从这里，从约旦河中祭司的脚稳稳站立的地方，取十二块石头☛“从约旦河中...石头”：七十士译本是“从约旦河中取十二块准备好的石头”。，一起带过去，放在你们今夜住宿的地方。’”And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night.
4于是约书亚召集了他从以色列人中所选的十二个人，每支派一人。Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man:
5约书亚对他们说：“你们要过去，到约旦河中，耶和华－你们神的约柜前面，按以色列人支派的数目，每人各取一块石头扛在肩上。And Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of Jordan, and take you up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel:
6这些石头在你们中间将成为记号。日后，你们的子孙问你们说：‘这些石头对你们有什么意思呢？’That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones?
7你们就对他们说：‘这是因为约旦河的水在耶和华的约柜前中断；约柜过约旦河的时候，约旦河的水就中断了。这些石头要作以色列人永远的纪念。’”Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.
8以色列人就照约书亚所吩咐的做了。他们按以色列人支派的数目，从约旦河中取了十二块石头，正如耶和华所吩咐约书亚的。他们把石头带过去，到他们所住宿的地方，就放在那里。And the children of Israel did so as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of Jordan, as the LORD spake unto Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.
9约书亚另外把十二块石头立在约旦河的中间，在抬约柜祭司的脚站立的地方；直到今日，石头还在那里。And Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.
10抬约柜的祭司站在约旦河的中间，直到耶和华命令约书亚告诉百姓的一切事办完为止，正如摩西所吩咐约书亚的一切话。于是，百姓急速过了河。
For the priests which bare the ark stood in the midst of Jordan, until everything was finished that the LORD commanded Joshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua: and the people hasted and passed over.
11全体百姓都过了河之后，耶和华的约柜和祭司才过去，到百姓的前面。And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over, that the ark of the LORD passed over, and the priests, in the presence of the people.
12吕便人、迦得人、玛拿西半支派的人都照摩西所吩咐他们的，带着兵器在以色列人的前面过去。And the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh, passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses spake unto them:
13约有四万带兵器的军队在耶和华面前过去，到耶利哥的平原，准备上阵。About forty thousand prepared for war passed over before the LORD unto battle, to the plains of Jericho.
14在那日，耶和华使约书亚在以色列众人眼前被尊为大。在他一生的年日中，百姓敬服他，像从前敬服摩西一样。On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.
15耶和华对约书亚说：And the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying,
16“你吩咐抬法柜的祭司从约旦河上来。”Command the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of Jordan.
17约书亚就吩咐祭司说：“你们从约旦河上来。”Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, Come ye up out of Jordan.
18抬耶和华约柜的祭司从约旦河中上来，脚掌一落干地，约旦河的水就流回原处，仍旧涨满两岸。And it came to pass, when the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD were come up out of the midst of Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up unto the dry land, that the waters of Jordan returned unto their place, and flowed over all his banks, as they did before.
19正月初十，百姓从约旦河上来，就在耶利哥东边的吉甲安营。And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.
20约书亚把他们从约旦河取来的那十二块石头立在吉甲，And those twelve stones, which they took out of Jordan, did Joshua pitch in Gilgal.
21对以色列人说：“日后，你们的子孙问他们的父亲说：‘这些石头是什么意思呢？’And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones?
22你们就让你们的子孙知道，说：‘以色列人曾走干地过这约旦河。’Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.
23因为耶和华－你们的神在你们前面使约旦河的水干了，直到你们过来，就如耶和华－你们的神从前在我们前面使红海干了，直到我们过来一样，For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:
24要使地上万民都知道，耶和华的手大有能力，也要使你们天天敬畏耶和华－你们的神。”That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.
约旦河西亚摩利人的众王和靠海迦南人的众王，听见耶和华在以色列人前面使约旦河的水干了，直到他们过了河☛“他们过了河”：原文另译“我们过了河”。，众王因以色列人的缘故都胆战心惊，勇气全失。
在吉甲行割礼
And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, which were on the side of Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, which were by the sea, heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of Jordan from before the children of Israel, until we were passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of Israel.
2那时，耶和华对约书亚说：“你要造火石刀，第二次为以色列人行割礼。”At that time the LORD said unto Joshua, Make thee sharp knives, and circumcise again the children of Israel the second time.
3约书亚就造了火石刀，在哈尔拉勒山☛“哈尔拉勒山”意思是“包皮山”。为以色列人行割礼。And Joshua made him sharp knives, and circumcised the children of Israel at the hill of the foreskins.
4约书亚行割礼的原因是这样：从埃及出来的众百姓，所有能打仗的男丁，出了埃及以后，都死在旷野的路上。And this is the cause why Joshua did circumcise: All the people that came out of Egypt, that were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness by the way, after they came out of Egypt.
5这些从埃及出来的众百姓都受过割礼；但是那些出埃及以后，在旷野的路上所生的众百姓却没有受过割礼。Now all the people that came out were circumcised: but all the people that were born in the wilderness by the way as they came forth out of Egypt, them they had not circumcised.
6以色列人在旷野走了四十年，直到那从埃及出来，全国能打仗的人都消灭了，因为他们没有听从耶和华的话。耶和华曾向他们起誓，必不容许他们看见耶和华向他们列祖起誓要给我们的地，就是流奶与蜜之地。For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people that were men of war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: unto whom the LORD sware that he would not shew them the land, which the LORD sware unto their fathers that he would give us, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
7他们的子孙，就是耶和华兴起接续他们的，都没有受过割礼；因为在路上他们没有受割礼，约书亚就为他们行割礼。And their children, whom he raised up in their stead, them Joshua circumcised: for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them by the way.
8全国的人都受了割礼，留在营中自己的地方，直到痊愈。And it came to pass, when they had done circumcising all the people, that they abode in their places in the camp, till they were whole.
9耶和华对约书亚说：“我今日将埃及的羞辱从你们身上除掉了。”因此，那地方名叫吉甲☛“吉甲”意思是“除掉、滚离”。，直到今日。在吉甲守逾越节
And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you. Wherefore the name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day.
10以色列人在吉甲安营。正月十四日晚上，他们在耶利哥的平原守逾越节。And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho.
11逾越节的第二日，他们吃了当地的出产，就在那一天，吃了无酵饼和烘过的谷物。And they did eat of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes, and parched corn in the selfsame day.
12他们吃了当地出产的第二日，吗哪就停止了。以色列人不再有吗哪了。那一年，他们就吃迦南地的出产。耶和华军队的元帅
And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.
13约书亚靠近耶利哥的时候，举目观看，看哪，有一个人站在他对面，手里拿着拔出来的刀。约书亚到他那里，对他说：“你是属我们的，还是属我们敌人的呢？”And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?
14他说：“不，我现在来是要作耶和华军队的元帅。”约书亚就脸伏于地下拜，说：“我主有什么话，请吩咐仆人吧！”And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?
15耶和华军队的元帅对约书亚说：“把你脚上的鞋脱下来，因为你所站的地方是圣的。”约书亚就照着做了。And the captain of the LORD's host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.
耶利哥城陷落
耶利哥的城门因以色列人的缘故，关得严紧，无人出入。
Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.
2耶和华对约书亚说：“看，我已经把耶利哥城和耶利哥王，以及大能的勇士，都交在你手中。And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.
3你们要围绕这城，所有的士兵绕城一次，六日你都要这样做。And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.
4七个祭司要拿七个羊角走在约柜前。到了第七日，你们要围绕这城七次，祭司也要吹角。And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
5羊角声拖长的时候，你们一听见角声，众百姓要大声呼喊，城墙就必倒塌，各人要往前直上。”And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.
6嫩的儿子约书亚召了祭司来，对他们说：“你们抬起约柜来，要有七个祭司拿七个羊角在耶和华的约柜前。”And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD.
7他又对百姓说：“你们向前去围绕那城，带兵器的要在耶和华的约柜前过去。”And he said unto the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD.
8按照约书亚对百姓所说的，七个祭司拿了七个羊角在耶和华面前过去，他们吹着角，耶和华的约柜在他们后面跟着。And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken unto the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.
9带兵器的走在吹角的祭司前面，后队跟着约柜走，号角继续在吹。And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rereward came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
10约书亚吩咐百姓说：“你们不可呼喊，不可让人听见你们的声音，连一句话也不可出你们的口，直到我对你们说‘呼喊’的那日，你们才呼喊。”And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.
11这样，约书亚使耶和华的约柜围绕那城，把城绕了一次。然后，众人回到营里，就在营里住宿。So the ark of the LORD compassed the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.
12约书亚清早起来，祭司又抬起耶和华的约柜。And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD.
13七个祭司拿七个羊角，走在耶和华的约柜前，他们吹着角；带兵器的走在他们前面，后队跟着耶和华的约柜走，号角继续在吹。And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rereward came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
14第二日，他们再把城围绕一次，就回营里去。六日都是这样做。And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: so they did six days.
15第七日清早黎明时，他们起来，以同样的方式围绕城七次；惟独这一日他们围绕城七次。And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.
16到了第七次，祭司吹角的时候，约书亚对百姓说：“呼喊吧，因为耶和华已经把城交给你们了！And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.
17这城和其中所有的都要永献给耶和华作当毁灭的，只有妓女喇合与她家中所有的可以存活，因为她隐藏了我们所派的使者。And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
18但你们务必谨慎，不可取那当灭的物，免得你们受诅咒，取了那当灭的物，使以色列全营成为诅咒而遭受灾祸。And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
19只有金子、银子和铜铁的器皿都要归耶和华为圣，放入耶和华的库房中。”But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD.
20于是百姓呼喊，祭司吹角。百姓一听见角声就大声呼喊，城墙随着倒塌。百姓上去进城，各人往前直上，把城夺取。So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
21他们把城中所有的，无论男女老少，牛羊和驴，都用刀杀尽。And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.
22约书亚对窥探这地的两个人说：“你们进那妓女的家，照你们向她所起的誓，将那女人和她所有的都从那里带出来。”But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot's house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.
23两个作过探子的青年进去，把喇合与她的父母、兄弟，和她所有的带出来，他们把她所有的亲属都带出来，安置在以色列的营外。And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.
24他们用火焚烧了那城和其中所有的，只有金子、银子和铜铁的器皿都放在耶和华殿的库房中。And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD.
25至于妓女喇合和她父家，以及她所有的，约书亚保存了他们的性命。她就住在以色列中，直到今日，因为她隐藏了约书亚派来窥探耶利哥的使者。And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
26当时，约书亚叫众人起誓说：“凡兴起重修这耶利哥城☛“这耶利哥城”：七十士译本是“这城”。的，当在耶和华面前受诅咒。 他立根基的时候，必丧长子， 安城门的时候，必丧幼子。”And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.
27耶和华与约书亚同在，约书亚的名声传遍全地。So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country.
亚干犯罪
以色列人在当灭之物上犯了罪。犹大支派中，谢拉的曾孙，撒底的孙子，迦米的儿子亚干取了当灭之物，耶和华的怒气就向以色列人发作。
But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.
2约书亚从耶利哥派人往伯特利东边，靠近伯．亚文☛七十士译本没有“靠近伯．亚文”。的艾城去，对他们说：“你们上去窥探那地。”那些人就上去窥探艾城。And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Bethaven, on the east side of Bethel, and spake unto them, saying, Go up and view the country. And the men went up and viewed Ai.
3他们回到约书亚那里，对他说：“众百姓不必都上去，只要二、三千人上去就能攻取艾城；不必劳动众百姓都上去，因为他们人少。”And they returned to Joshua, and said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; and make not all the people to labour thither; for they are but few.
4于是百姓中约有三千人上那里去，但他们竟在艾城的人面前逃跑。So there went up thither of the people about three thousand men: and they fled before the men of Ai.
5艾城的人击杀他们约三十六人，从城门前追赶他们，直到示巴琳，在下坡的地方击败他们。他们都胆战心惊，融化如水。And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty and six men: for they chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and smote them in the going down: wherefore the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.
6约书亚和以色列的长老就撕裂衣服，在耶和华的约柜前脸伏于地，直到晚上。他们把灰撒在头上。And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads.
7约书亚说：“唉！主耶和华啊，你为什么领这百姓过约旦河，把我们交在亚摩利人手中，使我们灭亡呢？我们不如住在约旦河的那边！And Joshua said, Alas, O LORD God, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side Jordan!
8主啊，求求你，以色列人既在仇敌面前转身逃跑，我还有什么可说的呢？O LORD, what shall I say, when Israel turneth their backs before their enemies!
9迦南人和这地所有的居民听见了就必围困我们，把我们的名从地上除去。那时，你为你至大的名要怎样做呢？”For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear of it, and shall environ us round, and cut off our name from the earth: and what wilt thou do unto thy great name?
10耶和华对约书亚说：“起来！你的脸为何这样俯伏呢？And the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face?
11以色列犯了罪，又违背了我所吩咐他们的约，又取了当灭之物。他们又偷窃，又行诡诈，又把那当灭的物与自己的器皿放在一起。Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.
12因此，以色列人在仇敌面前站立不住。他们在仇敌面前转身逃跑，因为他们成了当灭的物。你们若不把当灭的物从你们中间除掉，我就不再与你们同在了。Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the accursed from among you.
13你起来，去叫百姓分别为圣，说：‘你们要为了明天使自己分别为圣，因为耶和华－以色列的神这样说：以色列啊，在你中间有当灭的物；你们若不把你们中间当灭之物除掉，你在仇敌面前必站立不住！’Up, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow: for thus saith the LORD God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from among you.
14到了早晨，你们要按着支派近前来。耶和华所选的支派，要按着宗族近前来；耶和华所选的宗族，要按着家族近前来；耶和华所选的家族，要按着男丁，一个一个近前来。In the morning therefore ye shall be brought according to your tribes: and it shall be, that the tribe which the LORD taketh shall come according to the families thereof; and the family which the LORD shall take shall come by households; and the household which the LORD shall take shall come man by man.
15被选的人有当灭之物在他那里，他和他所有的必被火焚烧，因为他违背了耶和华的约，又因他在以色列中做了愚妄的事。”And it shall be, that he that is taken with the accursed thing shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he hath: because he hath transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he hath wrought folly in Israel.
16于是，约书亚清早起来，召以色列按着支派近前来。选出来的是犹大支派。So Joshua rose up early in the morning, and brought Israel by their tribes; and the tribe of Judah was taken:
17他召犹大的宗族近前来，选出来的是谢拉宗族。他召谢拉宗族，按着男丁☛“按着男丁”：有古卷和古译本是“按着家族”。，一个一个近前来，选出来的是撒底。And he brought the family of Judah; and he took the family of the Zarhites: and he brought the family of the Zarhites man by man; and Zabdi was taken:
18他召撒底的家族，按着男丁，一个一个近前来，就选出犹大支派，谢拉的曾孙，撒底的孙子，迦米的儿子亚干。And he brought his household man by man; and Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken.
19约书亚对亚干说：“我儿，我劝你将荣耀归给耶和华－以色列的神，在他面前认罪，把你所做的事告诉我，不可向我隐瞒。”And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me.
20亚干回答约书亚说：“我实在得罪了耶和华－以色列的神。这是我所做的：And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done:
21我在所夺取的财物中看见一件美好的示拿外袍，二百舍客勒银子，一条重五十舍客勒的金子。我贪爱这些物件，就拿去了。看哪，这些东西都埋在我帐棚内的地里，银子在外袍底下。”When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it.
22约书亚就派使者跑到亚干的帐棚里。看哪，那件外袍藏在他的帐棚里，银子在外袍底下。So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran unto the tent; and, behold, it was hid in his tent, and the silver under it.
23他们从帐棚里把这些东西取出来，拿到约书亚和以色列众人☛“众人”：七十士译本是“长老”。那里，倒在耶和华面前。And they took them out of the midst of the tent, and brought them unto Joshua, and unto all the children of Israel, and laid them out before the LORD.
24约书亚和以色列众人把谢拉的曾孙亚干和那银子、那件外袍、那条金子，以及亚干的儿女、牛、驴、羊、帐棚，和他所有的，都带着上到亚割谷☛“亚割谷”意思是“灾祸谷”。去。And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: and they brought them unto the valley of Achor.
25约书亚说：“你为什么给我们招惹灾祸呢？今日耶和华必使你遭受灾祸。”于是以色列众人用石头打死他，用火焚烧他们，把石头扔在其上。And Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us? the LORD shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.
26众人在亚干身上堆了一大堆石头，直存到今日。于是耶和华转意，不发他的烈怒。因此，那地方名叫亚割谷，直到今日。And they raised over him a great heap of stones unto this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day.
攻取艾城
耶和华对约书亚说：“不要惧怕，也不要惊惶。你起来，率领所有作战的士兵上艾城去。看，我已经把艾城的王和他的百姓、他的城，以及他的地，都交在你手里。
And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou dismayed: take all the people of war with thee, and arise, go up to Ai: see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land:
2你怎样处置耶利哥和耶利哥的王，也当照样处置艾城和艾城的王。只是城内所夺的财物和牲畜，你们可以取为自己的掠物。你要在城的后面设下伏兵。And thou shalt do to Ai and her king as thou didst unto Jericho and her king: only the spoil thereof, and the cattle thereof, shall ye take for a prey unto yourselves: lay thee an ambush for the city behind it.
3于是，约书亚和所有作战的士兵都起来，上艾城去。约书亚选了三万大能的勇士，夜间派遣他们前去，So Joshua arose, and all the people of war, to go up against Ai: and Joshua chose out thirty thousand mighty men of valour, and sent them away by night.
4吩咐他们说：“看，你们要在城的后面埋伏，不可离城太远，各人都要准备。And he commanded them, saying, Behold, ye shall lie in wait against the city, even behind the city: go not very far from the city, but be ye all ready:
5我与我所带领的众士兵要向城前进。城里的人像上一次那样出来迎击我们的时候，我们就在他们面前逃跑。And I, and all the people that are with me, will approach unto the city: and it shall come to pass, when they come out against us, as at the first, that we will flee before them,
6他们会出来追赶我们，直到我们引诱他们远离那城。因为他们必说：‘这些人像上次那样在我们面前逃跑。’所以我们要在他们面前逃跑☛七十士译本没有“所以我们要在他们面前逃跑”。。(For they will come out after us) till we have drawn them from the city; for they will say, They flee before us, as at the first: therefore we will flee before them.
7那时，你们就从埋伏的地方起来，夺取那城，因为耶和华－你们的神必把城交在你们的手里。Then ye shall rise up from the ambush, and seize upon the city: for the LORD your God will deliver it into your hand.
8你们夺了城以后，要放火烧城，照耶和华的话去做。看，这是我吩咐你们的。”And it shall be, when ye have taken the city, that ye shall set the city on fire: according to the commandment of the LORD shall ye do. See, I have commanded you.
9于是，约书亚派遣他们前去。他们行军到埋伏的地方，伏在伯特利和艾城的中间，就是艾城的西边。这夜，约书亚在士兵中间过夜。Joshua therefore sent them forth: and they went to lie in ambush, and abode between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of Ai: but Joshua lodged that night among the people.
10约书亚清早起来，点齐士兵。他和以色列的长老在百姓前面上艾城去。And Joshua rose up early in the morning, and numbered the people, and went up, he and the elders of Israel, before the people to Ai.
11所有跟他一起作战的士兵都上去，向前逼近，来到城前，就在艾城北边安营。约书亚与艾城之间隔着一个山谷。And all the people, even the people of war that were with him, went up, and drew nigh, and came before the city, and pitched on the north side of Ai: now there was a valley between them and Ai.
12他选了约五千人，安排他们埋伏在伯特利和艾城的中间，就是艾城的西边。And he took about five thousand men, and set them to lie in ambush between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of the city.
13于是，他们布署军队，就是城北的全军和城西的伏兵。当夜约书亚进入山谷之中。And when they had set the people, even all the host that was on the north of the city, and their liers in wait on the west of the city, Joshua went that night into the midst of the valley.
14艾城的王看见了，就和城里的人清早起来，急忙出去，他和所有的士兵到了所定的地点，在亚拉巴前，迎击以色列，与之交战；王并不知道城的后面有伏兵。And it came to pass, when the king of Ai saw it, that they hasted and rose up early, and the men of the city went out against Israel to battle, he and all his people, at a time appointed, before the plain; but he wist not that there were liers in ambush against him behind the city.
15约书亚和以色列众人在他们面前装败，往旷野的路逃跑。And Joshua and all Israel made as if they were beaten before them, and fled by the way of the wilderness.
16城内所有的百姓都被召来追赶他们。艾城的人追赶约书亚的时候，就被引诱远离了城。And all the people that were in Ai were called together to pursue after them: and they pursued after Joshua, and were drawn away from the city.
17艾城和伯特利没有一人不出来追赶以色列人的。他们撇下敞开的城门，去追赶以色列人。And there was not a man left in Ai or Bethel, that went not out after Israel: and they left the city open, and pursued after Israel.
18耶和华对约书亚说：“你向艾城伸出手里的标枪，因为我要把那城交在你手里。”约书亚就向那城伸出手里的标枪。And the LORD said unto Joshua, Stretch out the spear that is in thy hand toward Ai; for I will give it into thine hand. And Joshua stretched out the spear that he had in his hand toward the city.
19他一伸手，伏兵立刻从埋伏的地方冲出来，直攻入城，夺了它，立刻放火烧城。And the ambush arose quickly out of their place, and they ran as soon as he had stretched out his hand: and they entered into the city, and took it, and hasted and set the city on fire.
20艾城的人回头，往后一看，看哪，城中烟气冲天，他们向这边或那边都无处可逃。往旷野逃跑的百姓就转身攻击那些追赶他们的人。And when the men of Ai looked behind them, they saw, and, behold, the smoke of the city ascended up to heaven, and they had no power to flee this way or that way: and the people that fled to the wilderness turned back upon the pursuers.
21约书亚和以色列众人见伏兵已经夺了城，城中烟气上腾，就转身击杀艾城的人。And when Joshua and all Israel saw that the ambush had taken the city, and that the smoke of the city ascended, then they turned again, and slew the men of Ai.
22伏兵也出城追击他们，他们就被以色列人前后夹攻，四面受敌。于是以色列人击杀他们，没有留下一个幸存者，也没有一个逃脱。And the other issued out of the city against them; so they were in the midst of Israel, some on this side, and some on that side: and they smote them, so that they let none of them remain or escape.
23以色列人生擒了艾城的王，把他解到约书亚那里。And the king of Ai they took alive, and brought him to Joshua.
24以色列人在田间和旷野杀尽了追赶他们的艾城所有的居民。他们全倒在刀下，直到灭尽。以色列众人就回到艾城，用刀杀了城中的人。And it came to pass, when Israel had made an end of slaying all the inhabitants of Ai in the field, in the wilderness wherein they chased them, and when they were all fallen on the edge of the sword, until they were consumed, that all the Israelites returned unto Ai, and smote it with the edge of the sword.
25当日杀死的人，连男带女共有一万二千，这也是艾城所有的人。And so it was, that all that fell that day, both of men and women, were twelve thousand, even all the men of Ai.
26约书亚没有收回手里所伸出来的标枪，直到他灭绝艾城所有的居民。For Joshua drew not his hand back, wherewith he stretched out the spear, until he had utterly destroyed all the inhabitants of Ai.
27只是牲畜和城内所夺的财物，以色列人都照耶和华所吩咐约书亚的话，取为自己的掠物。Only the cattle and the spoil of that city Israel took for a prey unto themselves, according unto the word of the LORD which he commanded Joshua.
28约书亚焚烧艾城，使城成为永远的废墟，直到今日还是荒凉。And Joshua burnt Ai, and made it an heap for ever, even a desolation unto this day.
29他把艾城的王挂在树上，直到晚上。日落的时候，约书亚吩咐人把尸首从树上取下来，丢在城门口，并在尸首上堆了一大堆石头，直存到今日。在以巴路山上宣读律法
And the king of Ai he hanged on a tree until eventide: and as soon as the sun was down, Joshua commanded that they should take his carcase down from the tree, and cast it at the entering of the gate of the city, and raise thereon a great heap of stones, that remaineth unto this day.
30那时，约书亚在以巴路山上为耶和华－以色列的神筑一座坛。Then Joshua built an altar unto the LORD God of Israel in mount Ebal,
31这坛是照耶和华的仆人摩西吩咐以色列人，用没有动过铁器的整块石头所筑的，正如摩西律法书上所写的。他们在这坛上给耶和华奉献燔祭，又宰牲作为平安祭。As Moses the servant of the LORD commanded the children of Israel, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, an altar of whole stones, over which no man hath lift up any iron: and they offered thereon burnt offerings unto the LORD, and sacrificed peace offerings.
32约书亚在那里，当着以色列人面前，将摩西所写的律法抄写在石头上。And he wrote there upon the stones a copy of the law of Moses, which he wrote in the presence of the children of Israel.
33以色列众人，无论是本地人或寄居的，都和他们的长老、官长和审判官，站在约柜两旁，在抬耶和华约柜的利未家的祭司面前，一半对着基利心山，一半对着以巴路山，照耶和华的仆人摩西先前所吩咐的，为以色列百姓祝福。And all Israel, and their elders, and officers, and their judges, stood on this side the ark and on that side before the priests the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, as well the stranger, as he that was born among them; half of them over against mount Gerizim, and half of them over against mount Ebal; as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded before, that they should bless the people of Israel.
34随后，约书亚将律法上祝福和诅咒的话，照着律法书上一切所写的，宣读一遍。And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessings and cursings, according to all that is written in the book of the law.
35摩西所吩咐的一切话，约书亚在以色列全会众和妇女、孩童，以及住在他们中间的外人面前，没有一句不宣读的。There was not a word of all that Moses commanded, which Joshua read not before all the congregation of Israel, with the women, and the little ones, and the strangers that were conversant among them.
基遍人欺骗约书亚
约旦河西，住山区、低地和沿大海一带直到黎巴嫩的诸王，就是赫人、亚摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人的诸王，听见这事，
And it came to pass, when all the kings which were on this side Jordan, in the hills, and in the valleys, and in all the coasts of the great sea over against Lebanon, the Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard thereof;
2就都聚集，同心合意要与约书亚和以色列人作战。That they gathered themselves together, to fight with Joshua and with Israel, with one accord.
3基遍的居民听见约书亚向耶利哥和艾城所做的事，And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done unto Jericho and to Ai,
4就设诡计，假扮使者☛“假扮使者”：有古卷、七十士译本和其他古译本是“带着粮食”。出去。他们拿旧布袋和破裂补过的旧皮酒袋驮在驴上，They did work wilily, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks upon their asses, and wine bottles, old, and rent, and bound up;
5将补过的旧鞋穿在脚上，把旧衣服穿在身上，作食物的饼都又干又长了霉☛“长了霉”或译“碎”；下同。。And old shoes and clouted upon their feet, and old garments upon them; and all the bread of their provision was dry and mouldy.
6他们到吉甲营中约书亚那里，对他和以色列人说：“我们是从远地来的，现在求你与我们立约。”And they went to Joshua unto the camp at Gilgal, and said unto him, and to the men of Israel, We be come from a far country: now therefore make ye a league with us.
7以色列人对希未人说：“或许你是住在我附近的。若是这样，我怎能和你立约呢？”And the men of Israel said unto the Hivites, Peradventure ye dwell among us; and how shall we make a league with you?
8他们对约书亚说：“我们是你的仆人。”约书亚对他们说：“你们是什么人？是从哪里来的？”And they said unto Joshua, We are thy servants. And Joshua said unto them, Who are ye? and from whence come ye?
9他们对他说：“你的仆人是因耶和华－你神的名从极远之地来的。我们听见他的名声，他在埃及所做的一切，And they said unto him, From a very far country thy servants are come because of the name of the LORD thy God: for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt,
10以及他向约旦河东的两个亚摩利王，希实本王西宏和在亚斯她录的巴珊王噩所做的一切。And all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites, that were beyond Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon, and to Og king of Bashan, which was at Ashtaroth.
11我们的长老和我们当地所有的居民对我们说：‘你们手里要带着路上用的干粮去迎接以色列人，对他们说：我们是你们的仆人。现在求你们与我们立约。’Wherefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spake to us, saying, Take victuals with you for the journey, and go to meet them, and say unto them, We are your servants: therefore now make ye a league with us.
12我们出来要往你们这里来的那日，这从我们家里带出来的饼是热的；看哪，现在这饼又干又长了霉。This our bread we took hot for our provision out of our houses on the day we came forth to go unto you; but now, behold, it is dry, and it is mouldy:
13这些皮酒袋，我们盛酒的时候还是新的；看哪，现在已经破裂了。我们这些衣服和鞋，因为路途非常遥远，也都穿旧了。”And these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and, behold, they be rent: and these our garments and our shoes are become old by reason of the very long journey.
14以色列人收下他们的一些食物，但是没有求问耶和华的指示。And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the LORD.
15于是约书亚与他们建立和好关系，与他们立约，让他们存活；会众的领袖也向他们起誓。And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them.
16以色列人与他们立约之后，过了三天才听说他们是近邻，住在附近。And it came to pass at the end of three days after they had made a league with them, that they heard that they were their neighbours, and that they dwelt among them.
17以色列人起行，第三天就到了他们的城镇，他们的城镇是基遍、基非拉、比录和基列．耶琳。And the children of Israel journeyed, and came unto their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kirjathjearim.
18因为会众的领袖已经指着耶和华－以色列的神向他们起誓，所以以色列人不击杀他们。全会众就向领袖发怨言。And the children of Israel smote them not, because the princes of the congregation had sworn unto them by the LORD God of Israel. And all the congregation murmured against the princes.
19众领袖对全会众说：“我们已经指着耶和华－以色列的神向他们起誓，现在我们不能碰他们。But all the princes said unto all the congregation, We have sworn unto them by the LORD God of Israel: now therefore we may not touch them.
20我们要这样对待他们，让他们存活，免得因我们向他们所起的誓而愤怒临到我们。”This we will do to them; we will even let them live, lest wrath be upon us, because of the oath which we sware unto them.
21领袖对会众说：“让他们活着吧。”于是他们照领袖所说的，为全会众作劈柴挑水的人。And the princes said unto them, Let them live; but let them be hewers of wood and drawers of water unto all the congregation; as the princes had promised them.
22约书亚召了他们来，对他们说：“你们为什么欺骗我们说：‘我们离你们很远’呢？其实你们就住在我们附近。And Joshua called for them, and he spake unto them, saying, Wherefore have ye beguiled us, saying, We are very far from you; when ye dwell among us?
23现在你们当受诅咒！你们中间必不断有人作奴仆，为我神的殿作劈柴挑水的人。”Now therefore ye are cursed, and there shall none of you be freed from being bondmen, and hewers of wood and drawers of water for the house of my God.
24他们回答约书亚说：“因为确实有人告诉你的仆人，耶和华－你的神曾吩咐他的仆人摩西，把这全地赐给你们，并要在你们面前除灭这地所有的居民。我们因你们的缘故很怕自己丧命，就做了这事。And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how that the LORD thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were sore afraid of our lives because of you, and have done this thing.
25现在，看哪，我们在你手中，你看怎样待我们是好的，是对的，就这样做吧！”And now, behold, we are in thine hand: as it seemeth good and right unto thee to do unto us, do.
26于是约书亚就这样对待他们，他救了他们脱离以色列人的手，以色列人没有杀他们。And so did he unto them, and delivered them out of the hand of the children of Israel, that they slew them not.
27那日，约书亚分派他们到耶和华选择的地方，为会众和耶和华的坛劈柴挑水，直到今日。And Joshua made them that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the altar of the LORD, even unto this day, in the place which he should choose.
击败亚摩利人
耶路撒冷王亚多尼．洗德听见约书亚夺了艾城，彻底毁灭，处置艾城和艾城的王像处置耶利哥和耶利哥的王一样，又听见基遍的居民与以色列人立了和约，住在他们中间，
Now it came to pass, when Adonizedec king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;
2耶路撒冷人就很惧怕，因为基遍是一座大城，如京城一样，比艾城更大，并且城内的人都是勇士。That they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty.
3耶路撒冷王亚多尼．洗德派人去见希伯仑王何咸、耶末王毗兰、拉吉王雅非亚和伊矶伦王底璧，说：Wherefore Adonizedec king of Jerusalem sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying,
4“求你们上来帮助我，我们好攻打基遍，因为它与约书亚和以色列人立了和约。”Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.
5于是五个亚摩利王，就是耶路撒冷王、希伯仑王、耶末王、拉吉王和伊矶伦王，联合上去，率领他们所有的军队，对着基遍安营，要攻打基遍。Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it.
6基遍人就派人到吉甲的营中约书亚那里，说：“不要袖手不顾你的仆人，求你赶快上来拯救我们，帮助我们，因为住山区亚摩利人的诸王已经联合来攻击我们。”And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.
7于是约书亚和所有跟他一起作战的士兵，以及大能的勇士，从吉甲上去。So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour.
8耶和华对约书亚说：“不要怕他们， 因为我已将他们交在你手里，他们没有一人能在你面前站立得住。”And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.
9约书亚就连夜从吉甲上去，猛然袭击他们。Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night.
10耶和华使他们在以色列人面前溃乱。约书亚在基遍大大击杀他们，在伯．和仑的上坡路上追赶他们，击杀他们，直到亚西加和玛基大。And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.
11他们在以色列人面前逃跑。正在伯．和仑下坡的时候，耶和华从天上降下大冰雹☛“冰雹”：原文是“石头”。在他们身上，直降到亚西加，打死他们。被冰雹打死的，比以色列人用刀杀死的还多。And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.
12当耶和华将亚摩利人交给以色列人的那一日，约书亚向耶和华说话，在以色列人眼前说： “太阳啊，停在基遍； 月亮啊，停在亚雅仑谷。”Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
13太阳就停住，月亮就止住， 直到国家向敌人报仇。这事岂不是写在《雅煞珥书》上吗？太阳停在天空当中，没有急速落下，约有一整天。And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
14在这日以前，这日以后，耶和华听人的声音，没有像这日的，这是因为耶和华为以色列作战。And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.
15约书亚和跟他一起的以色列众人回到吉甲的营中。生擒亚摩利的五王
And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.
16那五个王逃跑，躲在玛基大洞里。But these five kings fled, and hid themselves in a cave at Makkedah.
17有人告诉约书亚说：“那五个王已经找到了，都躲在玛基大洞里。”And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings are found hid in a cave at Makkedah.
18约书亚说：“你们把几块大石头滚到洞口，派人在那里看守他们。And Joshua said, Roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave, and set men by it for to keep them:
19你们却不可停留，要追赶你们的仇敌，从后面攻击他们，不让他们进到自己的城镇，因为耶和华－你们的神已经把他们交在你们手里。”And stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the LORD your God hath delivered them into your hand.
20约书亚和以色列人彻底击败他们，直到把他们灭尽，只剩下少许的人逃进坚固的城。And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, that the rest which remained of them entered into fenced cities.
21众百姓就安然回到玛基大营中☛七十士译本没有“营中”。，到约书亚那里。没有人敢向以色列人饶舌。And all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace: none moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel.
22约书亚说：“打开洞口，把那五个王从洞里带出来，到我这里。”Then said Joshua, Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out those five kings unto me out of the cave.
23众人就这样做，把那五个王，就是耶路撒冷王、希伯仑王、耶末王、拉吉王和伊矶伦王，从洞里带出来，到约书亚那里。And they did so, and brought forth those five kings unto him out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.
24他们带出那五个王到约书亚那里的时候，约书亚就召了以色列众人来，对和他同去的军官说：“你们近前来，把脚踏在这些王的颈项上。”他们就近前来，把脚踏在这些王的颈项上。And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.
25约书亚对他们说：“你们不要惧怕，也不要惊惶。当刚强壮胆，因为耶和华必这样处置你们要攻打的所有仇敌。”And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.
26随后，约书亚把这五个王杀死，挂在五棵树上。他们就被挂在树上，直到晚上。And afterward Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.
27日落的时候，约书亚吩咐人把尸首从树上取下来，丢在他们躲过的洞里，把几块大石头放在洞口，直存到今日。攻取更多的城镇
And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid great stones in the cave's mouth, which remain until this very day.
28当日，约书亚夺了玛基大，用刀击杀城中的人和王，把城中所有人完全灭尽，没有留下一个幸存者。他处置玛基大王，像从前处置耶利哥王一样。And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho.
29约书亚和跟他一起的以色列众人从玛基大往立拿去，攻打立拿。Then Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against Libnah:
30耶和华将立拿和立拿的王也交在以色列人手里。约书亚攻打这城，用刀击杀了城中所有的人，没有留下一个幸存者。他处置立拿王，像从前处置耶利哥王一样。And the LORD delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain in it; but did unto the king thereof as he did unto the king of Jericho.
31约书亚和跟他一起的以色列众人从立拿往拉吉去，对着拉吉安营，攻打这城。And Joshua passed from Libnah, and all Israel with him, unto Lachish, and encamped against it, and fought against it:
32耶和华将拉吉交在以色列人的手里。第二日约书亚就夺了拉吉，用刀击杀了城中所有的人，正如他向立拿一切所做的。And the LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, which took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah.
33那时基色王何兰上来帮助拉吉，约书亚就把他和他的百姓都击杀了，没有留下一个幸存者。Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua smote him and his people, until he had left him none remaining.
34约书亚和跟他一起的以色列众人从拉吉往伊矶伦去，对着伊矶伦安营，攻打这城。And from Lachish Joshua passed unto Eglon, and all Israel with him; and they encamped against it, and fought against it:
35当日约书亚就夺了城，用刀击杀了城中的人。那日，约书亚把城中所有的人完全灭尽，正如他向拉吉一切所做的。And they took it on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein he utterly destroyed that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish.
36约书亚和跟他一起的以色列众人从伊矶伦上希伯仑去，攻打这城，And Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with him, unto Hebron; and they fought against it:
37夺了希伯仑，用刀击败希伯仑、它的王和属它的一切城镇，以及城中所有的人；他没有留下一个幸存者，正如他向伊矶伦所做的，把城中所有的人完全灭尽。And they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but destroyed it utterly, and all the souls that were therein.
38约书亚和跟他一起的以色列众人回到底璧，攻打这城，And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to Debir; and fought against it:
39夺了底璧和属它的一切城镇，又擒获它的王，用刀把城中所有的人完全灭尽，没有留下一个幸存者。他处置底璧和它的王，像从前处置希伯仑，处置立拿和它的王一样。And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to her king.
40这样，约书亚击败全地的人，就是山区、尼革夫☛“尼革夫”是音译，意思是“旷野干旱的地方”，指“南方之地”；本卷书下同。、低地、山坡的人，和那里的众王，没有留下一个幸存者。他把凡有气息的完全灭尽，正如耶和华－以色列的神所吩咐的。So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel commanded.
41约书亚从加低斯．巴尼亚攻到迦萨，又攻打歌珊全地，直到基遍。And Joshua smote them from Kadeshbarnea even unto Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even unto Gibeon.
42约书亚一举击败了这些王，夺了他们的地，因为耶和华－以色列的神为以色列作战。And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.
43于是约书亚和跟他一起的以色列众人回到吉甲的营中。And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.
击败众王的联军
夏琐王耶宾听见了，就派人到玛顿☛“玛顿”：七十士译本是“玛伦”。王约巴、伸仑☛“伸仑”：七十士译本是“伸门”。王、押煞王，
And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor had heard those things, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,
2和北方山区、基尼烈南边的亚拉巴、低地、西边多珥山冈☛“山冈”或译“全境”。的诸王，And to the kings that were on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Chinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west,
3以及东方和西方的迦南人、山区的亚摩利人、赫人、比利洗人、耶布斯人，和黑门山下米斯巴地的希未人那里。And to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.
4他们和他们的众军都出来，一大队人马，多如海边的沙，并有极多的战车战马。And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.
5众王组成联军，来到米伦水边一同安营，要与以色列作战。And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
6耶和华对约书亚说：“你不要怕他们。明日这时，我必把他们全部交给以色列人杀灭。你要砍断他们马的蹄筋，用火焚烧他们的战车。”And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.
7于是约书亚和所有跟他一起作战的士兵，来到米伦水边，突然攻击他们。So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them.
8耶和华将他们交在以色列人手里，以色列人就击杀他们，追赶他们到西顿大城，到米斯利弗．玛音，直到东边米斯巴的山谷。以色列人击杀他们，没有留下一个幸存者。And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephothmaim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.
9约书亚照耶和华所吩咐他的去做，砍断他们马的蹄筋，用火焚烧他们的战车。And Joshua did unto them as the LORD bade him: he houghed their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.
10那时，约书亚转回，夺了夏琐，用刀杀了夏琐王。先前夏琐在这些王国中是为首的。And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.
11以色列人用刀击杀城中所有的人，把他们完全灭尽；凡有气息的，没有留下一个。约书亚又用火焚烧夏琐。And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.
12约书亚夺了这些王的一切城镇，擒获了这些王，用刀杀了他们，把他们完全灭尽，正如耶和华的仆人摩西所吩咐的。And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.
13至于造在山冈上的城镇，除了夏琐以外，以色列人都没有焚烧。约书亚只焚烧了夏琐。But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn.
14从那些城镇所夺的财物和牲畜，以色列人都取为自己的掠物。至于所有的人，他们都用刀杀了，直到灭尽；凡有气息的，没有留下一个。And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.
15耶和华怎样吩咐他的仆人摩西，摩西就这样吩咐约书亚，约书亚也照样做了。凡耶和华所吩咐摩西的，约书亚没有一件偏离不做的。占领的土地
As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.
16约书亚夺了那全地，就是山区、整个尼革夫、歌珊全地、低地、亚拉巴、以色列的山区和山下的低地，So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same;
17从上西珥的哈拉山，直到黑门山下面黎巴嫩平原的巴力．迦得。他擒获了那里的众王，把他们杀死。Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.
18约书亚和这些王作战了很长的一段日子。Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.
19除了希未人基遍的居民之外，没有一城与以色列人讲和，都是以色列人作战夺来的。There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle.
20因为耶和华的意思是要使他们的心刚硬，来与以色列人作战，好使他们全被杀灭，不蒙怜悯，反被除灭，正如耶和华所吩咐摩西的。For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.
21那时约书亚来到，剪除了住山区、希伯仑、底璧、亚拿伯、整个犹大山区和以色列山区的亚衲族人。约书亚把他们和他们的城镇尽都毁灭。And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.
22以色列人的地中没有留下一个亚衲族人，只有一些还留在迦萨、迦特和亚实突。There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.
23这样，约书亚照着耶和华所吩咐摩西的一切话夺了那全地，就按着以色列支派所得的份把地分给他们为业。于是国中太平，没有战争了。So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.
摩西击败的诸王
这些是以色列人在约旦河东，向日出的方向，从亚嫩谷直到黑门山，以及东边亚拉巴的整个地区所击杀的王和所得的地：
Now these are the kings of the land, which the children of Israel smote, and possessed their land on the other side Jordan toward the rising of the sun, from the river Arnon unto mount Hermon, and all the plain on the east:
2有住希实本的亚摩利王西宏，他统治的地从亚嫩谷边的亚罗珥起，包括谷中之城和基列的一半，直到亚扪人边界的雅博河，Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and ruled from Aroer, which is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and from the middle of the river, and from half Gilead, even unto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;
3以及从东边的亚拉巴，直到基尼烈海，又向东通过伯．耶施末的路，直到亚拉巴的海，就是盐海，再往南直到毗斯迦山斜坡的山脚。And from the plain to the sea of Chinneroth on the east, and unto the sea of the plain, even the salt sea on the east, the way to Bethjeshimoth; and from the south, under Ashdothpisgah:
4又有巴珊王噩☛“又有巴珊王噩”是根据七十士译本；原文是“以下是巴珊王噩的疆土”。，他是利乏音人所剩下的，住在亚斯她录和以得来。And the coast of Og king of Bashan, which was of the remnant of the giants, that dwelt at Ashtaroth and at Edrei,
5他统治的地是黑门山、撒迦、巴珊全地，直到基述人和玛迦人的边界，以及基列的一半，直到希实本王西宏的边界。And reigned in mount Hermon, and in Salcah, and in all Bashan, unto the border of the Geshurites and the Maachathites, and half Gilead, the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.

Them did Moses the servant of the LORD and the children of Israel smite: and Moses the servant of the LORD gave it for a possession unto the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh.
7这些是约书亚和以色列人在约旦河西所击杀的诸王，他们的地从黎巴嫩平原的巴力．迦得，直上到西珥的哈拉山。约书亚按着以色列支派所得的份把这地分给他们为业，And these are the kings of the country which Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side Jordan on the west, from Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon even unto the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir; which Joshua gave unto the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their divisions;
8就是赫人、亚摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人的地，包括山区、低地、亚拉巴、山坡、旷野和尼革夫。In the mountains, and in the valleys, and in the plains, and in the springs, and in the wilderness, and in the south country; the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites:
9这些王是： 耶利哥王一人， 靠近伯特利的艾城王一人，The king of Jericho, one; the king of Ai, which is beside Bethel, one;
10耶路撒冷王一人， 希伯仑王一人，The king of Jerusalem, one; the king of Hebron, one;
11耶末王一人， 拉吉王一人，The king of Jarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one;
12伊矶伦王一人， 基色王一人，The king of Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one;
13底璧王一人， 基德王一人，The king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one;
14何珥玛王一人， 亚拉得王一人，The king of Hormah, one; the king of Arad, one;
15立拿王一人， 亚杜兰王一人，The king of Libnah, one; the king of Adullam, one;
16玛基大王一人， 伯特利王一人，The king of Makkedah, one; the king of Bethel, one;
17他普亚王一人， 希弗王一人，The king of Tappuah, one; the king of Hepher, one;
18亚弗王一人， 拉沙仑王一人，The king of Aphek, one; the king of Lasharon, one;
19玛顿王一人， 夏琐王一人，The king of Madon, one; the king of Hazor, one;

24得撒王一人， 共三十一个王。The king of Tirzah, one: all the kings thirty and one.
未得之地
约书亚年纪老迈，耶和华对他说：“你年纪老迈了，还有极多剩下的未得之地。
Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.
2这是剩下的地：非利士人的全境和一切属于基述人的，This is the land that yet remaineth: all the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri,
3是从埃及东边的西曷河往北，直到以革伦的边界，算是属迦南人的地，那里有非利士人五个领袖统治迦萨人、亚实突人、亚实基伦人、迦特人、以革伦人；还有属于亚卫人的，From Sihor, which is before Egypt, even unto the borders of Ekron northward, which is counted to the Canaanite: five lords of the Philistines; the Gazathites, and the Ashdothites, the Eshkalonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites:
4在南边；还有迦南人的全地，以及西顿人的米亚拉☛“西顿人的米亚拉”：原文另译“从西顿人的亚拉”。到亚弗，直到亚摩利人的边界；From the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that is beside the Sidonians unto Aphek, to the borders of the Amorites:
5还有迦巴勒人的地，以及向日出方向的黎巴嫩全地，从黑门山下的巴力．迦得，直到哈马口；And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baalgad under mount Hermon unto the entering into Hamath.
6从黎巴嫩直到米斯利弗．玛音，一切山区的居民，就是所有的西顿人，我必在以色列人面前赶走他们。你只管照我所吩咐的，抽签将这地分给以色列人为业。All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto Misrephothmaim, and all the Sidonians, them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only divide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.
7现在你要把这地分给九个支派和玛拿西半个支派为业。约旦河东之地的分配
Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh,
8吕便、迦得二支派已经和玛拿西另外半个支派得了产业，就是耶和华的仆人摩西在约旦河东所赐给他们的：With whom the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of the LORD gave them;
9从亚嫩谷边的亚罗珥和谷中之城，米底巴的整个平原，直到底本；From Aroer, that is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dibon;
10还有在希实本作王的亚摩利王西宏的诸城，直到亚扪人的边界；And all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the children of Ammon;
11还有基列，基述人和玛迦人的边界，整个黑门山、整个巴珊，直到撒迦；And Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah;
12还有在亚斯她录和以得来作王的巴珊王噩的整个国土，噩是利乏音人惟一存留的。摩西击败了这些人，把他们赶走。All the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, who remained of the remnant of the giants: for these did Moses smite, and cast them out.
13以色列人却没有赶走基述人和玛迦人；基述人和玛迦人仍住在以色列中，直到今日。Nevertheless the children of Israel expelled not the Geshurites, nor the Maachathites: but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites until this day.
14只是利未支派，摩西没有分产业给他们。他们的产业是献给耶和华－以色列神的火祭，正如耶和华对他们说的。分给吕便的土地
Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the LORD God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, as he said unto them.
15摩西按着吕便支派的宗族分产业给他们。And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben inheritance according to their families.
16他们的地界是亚嫩谷边的亚罗珥和谷中之城，靠近米底巴的整个平原；And their coast was from Aroer, that is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the river, and all the plain by Medeba;
17还有希实本和属希实本平原的各城，底本、巴末．巴力、伯．巴力．勉、Heshbon, and all her cities that are in the plain; Dibon, and Bamothbaal, and Bethbaalmeon,
18雅杂、基底莫、米法押、And Jahaza, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,
19基列亭、西比玛、谷中山冈上的细列．沙辖、And Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zarethshahar in the mount of the valley,
20伯．毗珥、毗斯迦山斜坡、伯．耶施末；And Bethpeor, and Ashdothpisgah, and Bethjeshimoth,
21还有平原的各城，和亚摩利王西宏的整个国土。这西宏曾在希实本作王，摩西把他和米甸的族长以未、利金、苏珥、户珥、利巴击杀了；他们都是属西宏的领袖，曾住在这地。And all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, which were dukes of Sihon, dwelling in the country.
22以色列人杀了这些人时，也用刀杀了比珥的儿子占卜的巴兰。Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them.
23吕便人的地界就是约旦河和靠近约旦河的地。以上是吕便人按着宗族所得为业的城镇和所属的村庄。分给迦得的土地
And the border of the children of Reuben was Jordan, and the border thereof. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families, the cities and the villages thereof.
24摩西按着迦得支派的宗族分产业给他们。And Moses gave inheritance unto the tribe of Gad, even unto the children of Gad according to their families.
25他们的地界是雅谢和基列的各城，以及亚扪人之地的一半，直到拉巴前面的亚罗珥；And their coast was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that is before Rabbah;
26还有从希实本到拉抹．米斯巴和比多宁，又从玛哈念到底璧☛“底璧”：原文另译“罗．底巴”。的边界，And from Heshbon unto Ramathmizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir;
27和谷中的伯．亚兰、伯．宁拉、疏割、撒分，就是希实本王西宏国土中其余的地，以及约旦河与靠近约旦河的地，直到基尼烈海的边缘，都在约旦河东。And in the valley, Betharam, and Bethnimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, Jordan and his border, even unto the edge of the sea of Chinnereth on the other side Jordan eastward.
28以上是迦得人按着宗族所得为业的城镇和所属的村庄。分给玛拿西半支派的土地
This is the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities, and their villages.
29摩西分产业给玛拿西半支派，这是按着玛拿西半支派的宗族分的。And Moses gave inheritance unto the half tribe of Manasseh: and this was the possession of the half tribe of the children of Manasseh by their families.
30他们的地界是从玛哈念起，包括整个巴珊全地，就是巴珊王噩的整个国土，以及在巴珊、睚珥的一切城镇，共六十个；And their coast was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, threescore cities:
31还有基列的一半，以及巴珊国的王噩的亚斯她录和以得来两座城。这些地是按着宗族分给玛拿西儿子玛吉子孙的，就是给玛吉一半子孙的。And half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were pertaining unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even to the one half of the children of Machir by their families.
32以上是摩西在约旦河东，耶利哥对面的摩押平原所分配的产业。These are the countries which Moses did distribute for inheritance in the plains of Moab, on the other side Jordan, by Jericho, eastward.
33只是利未支派，摩西没有把产业分给他们。耶和华－以色列的神是他们的产业，正如耶和华对他们说的。But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the LORD God of Israel was their inheritance, as he said unto them.
约旦河西之地的分配
这是以色列人在迦南地所得的产业，就是祭司以利亚撒和嫩的儿子约书亚，以及以色列人各支派父系的领袖所分给他们的。
And these are the countries which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for inheritance to them.
2他们照耶和华藉摩西所吩咐的，抽签分产业给九个半支派。By lot was their inheritance, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half tribe.
3摩西在约旦河东已经分了产业给另外两个半支派。但是，他在他们中间没有分产业给利未人。For Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none inheritance among them.
4因约瑟的子孙成了两个支派，就是玛拿西和以法莲。虽然他们没有分地给利未人，却给利未人城镇居住，以及城镇的郊外供他们牧养牲畜，安置财物。For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.
5耶和华怎样吩咐摩西，以色列人就照样做，把地分了。迦勒分得希伯仑
As the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.
6犹大人来到吉甲，约书亚那里，基尼洗族耶孚尼的儿子迦勒对约书亚说：“耶和华在加低斯．巴尼亚指着我和你对神人摩西所说的话，你都知道。Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea.
7耶和华的仆人摩西从加低斯．巴尼亚差派我窥探这地的时候，我刚四十岁。我把心里的话向他报告。Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.
8虽然同我上去的众弟兄使百姓胆战心惊，我仍然专心跟从耶和华－我的神。Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.
9那日，摩西起誓说：‘你脚所踏之地必要归你和你的子孙永远为业，因为你专心跟从耶和华－我的神。’And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.
10现在，看哪，耶和华照他所说的使我活了这四十五年。当以色列人在旷野飘流的时候，耶和华曾对摩西说了这话。现在，看哪，我已经八十五岁了。And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.
11现今我还很健壮，像摩西差派我去的那天一样；无论是战争，是出入，我现在的力量和那时的力量一样。As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.
12请你将耶和华那日所说的这山区给我。那日你也曾听说，这里有亚衲族人，以及宽大坚固的城，或许耶和华会照他所说的与我同在，我就把他们赶出去。”Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.
13于是约书亚为耶孚尼的儿子迦勒祝福，把希伯仑给他为业。And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.
14所以希伯仑成了基尼洗族耶孚尼的儿子迦勒的产业，直到今日，因为他专心跟从耶和华－以色列的神。Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.
15希伯仑从前名叫基列．亚巴；亚巴☛“亚巴”：原文是“他”，“亚巴”是人名。是亚衲族最尊贵的人。于是国中太平，没有战争了。And the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba; which Arba was a great man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war.
分给犹大的土地
犹大支派按着宗族抽签所得之地是在最南端，到以东的边界，往南直到寻的旷野。
This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.
2他们南边的地界是从盐海的顶端，就是朝南的海湾开始，And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:
3通到亚克拉滨斜坡的南边，经过寻，上到加低斯．巴尼亚的南边，又经过希斯仑，上到亚达珥，转到甲加，And it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadeshbarnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:
4再经过押们，顺着埃及溪谷，这地界直通到海为止。这就是你们☛“你们”：七十士译本是“他们”。南边的地界。From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.
5东边的地界是从盐海到约旦河口。北边的地界是从约旦河口的海湾开始，And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:
6这地界上到伯．曷拉，经过伯．亚拉巴的北边，这地界上到吕便之子波罕的磐石。And the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:
7这地界是从亚割谷往北上到底璧，直向亚都冥斜坡对面的吉甲，就是河的南边，这地界再经过隐．示麦泉，直通到隐．罗结。And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the goings out thereof were at Enrogel:
8这地界又上到欣嫩子谷，耶布斯斜坡的南方，耶布斯就是耶路撒冷，这地界又上到欣嫩谷西边对面的山顶，就是在利乏音谷的最北端。And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:
9这地界又从山顶延伸到尼弗多亚水泉，通到以弗仑山的城镇，这地界又延伸到巴拉，巴拉就是基列．耶琳。And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim:
10这地界又从巴拉往西绕到西珥山，经过耶琳山斜坡的北边，耶琳就是基撒仑，从那里又下到伯．示麦，经过亭拿，And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah:
11这地界通到以革伦斜坡的北边。这地界又延伸到施基仑，经过巴拉山到雅比聂，这地界直通到海为止。And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.
12西边的地界就是大海和沿海一带之地。这是犹大人按着宗族所得之地四围的边界。迦勒攻占的土地

And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.
13约书亚照耶和华所指示的，把犹大人中的一份土地，就是基列．亚巴，分给耶孚尼的儿子迦勒。亚巴是亚衲族的祖先，基列．亚巴就是希伯仑。And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.
14迦勒从那里赶出亚衲的三族，就是亚衲族的示筛人、亚希幔人和挞买人。And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.
15他又从那里上去，攻击底璧的居民，这底璧从前名叫基列．西弗。And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher.
16迦勒说：“谁能攻打基列．西弗，夺取那城，我就把我女儿押撒嫁给他。”And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjathsepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.
17迦勒兄弟基纳斯的儿子俄陀聂夺取了那城，迦勒就把女儿押撒嫁给他。And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.
18押撒来的时候，催促丈夫向她父亲要一块田。押撒一下驴，迦勒就对她说：“你要什么？”And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?
19她说：“求你给我福分；你既然把我安置在尼革夫地，求你也给我水泉。”她父亲就把上泉和下泉都赐给她。犹大分得的城镇
Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.
20这是犹大支派按着宗族所得的产业。This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.
21犹大支派最南端，靠近以东边界的城镇，是甲薛、以得、雅姑珥、And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,
22基拿、底摩拿、亚大达、And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,
23基低斯、夏琐、以提楠、And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,
24西弗、提鍊、比亚绿、Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,
25夏琐．哈大他、加略．希斯仑，加略．希斯仑就是夏琐，And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor,
26亚曼、示玛、摩拉大、Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,

33在低地有以实陶、琐拉、亚实拿、And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,
34撒挪亚、隐．干宁、他普亚、以楠、And Zanoah, and Engannim, Tappuah, and Enam,
35耶末、亚杜兰、梭哥、亚西加、Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,
36沙拉音、亚底他音、基底拉、基底罗他音，共十四座城，还有所属的村庄。And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages:
37又有洗楠、哈大沙、麦大．迦得、Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdalgad,
38底连、米斯巴、约帖、And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,
39拉吉、波斯加、伊矶伦、Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,
40迦本、拉幔、基提利、And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,
41基低罗、伯．大衮、拿玛、玛基大，共十六座城，还有所属的村庄。And Gederoth, Bethdagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages:
42又有立拿、以帖、亚珊、Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,
43益弗他、亚实拿、尼悉、And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,
44基伊拉、亚革悉、玛利沙，共九座城，还有所属的村庄。And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:
45又有以革伦和所属的乡镇☛“乡镇”：原文直译“女子们”；本卷书下同。与村庄，Ekron, with her towns and her villages:
46从以革伦直到海，一切靠近亚实突之地，以及所属的村庄、From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:

49大拿、基列．萨拿，基列．萨拿就是底璧，And Dannah, and Kirjathsannah, which is Debir,

51歌珊、何仑、基罗，共十一座城，还有所属的村庄。And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages:
52又有亚拉、度玛、以珊、Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,
53雅农、伯．他普亚、亚非加、And Janum, and Bethtappuah, and Aphekah,
54宏他、基列．亚巴，基列．亚巴就是希伯仑，洗珥，共九座城，还有所属的村庄。And Humtah, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages:
55又有玛云、迦密、西弗、淤他、Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,
56耶斯列、约甸、撒挪亚、And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,
57该隐、基比亚、亭拿，共十座城，还有所属的村庄。Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages:
58又有哈忽、伯．夙、基突、Halhul, Bethzur, and Gedor,
59玛腊、伯．亚诺、伊勒提君，共六座城，还有所属的村庄。And Maarath, and Bethanoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages:
60又有基列．巴力，基列．巴力就是基列．耶琳，拉巴，共两座城，还有所属的村庄。Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages:
61在旷野有伯．亚拉巴、密丁、西迦迦、In the wilderness, Betharabah, Middin, and Secacah,
62匿珊、盐城、隐．基底，共六座城，还有所属的村庄。And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and Engedi; six cities with their villages.
63至于住耶路撒冷的耶布斯人，犹大人不能把他们赶出去。于是，耶布斯人与犹大人同住在耶路撒冷，直到今日。As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.
分给约瑟子孙的土地
约瑟的子孙抽签所得之地是从靠近耶利哥的约旦河起，以耶利哥东边的河水为边界，经过旷野，从耶利哥上去，直到伯特利的山区；
And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from Jordan by Jericho, unto the water of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho throughout mount Bethel,
2从伯特利又到路斯，经过亚基人的边界，直到亚大录；And goeth out from Bethel to Luz, and passeth along unto the borders of Archi to Ataroth,
3又往西，下到押利提人的边界，到下伯．和仑的边界，到基色，直通到海为止。And goeth down westward to the coast of Japhleti, unto the coast of Bethhoron the nether, and to Gezer; and the goings out thereof are at the sea.
4约瑟的儿子玛拿西、以法莲得了地业。分给以法莲的土地
So the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.
5以法莲子孙的地界，按着宗族所得的如下：他们地业的东界，是从亚大录．亚达到上伯．和仑，And the border of the children of Ephraim according to their families was thus: even the border of their inheritance on the east side was Atarothaddar, unto Bethhoron the upper;
6这地界直通到海。在北边，这地界是从密米他，向东绕到他纳．示罗，又经过雅挪哈的东边，And the border went out toward the sea to Michmethah on the north side; and the border went about eastward unto Taanathshiloh, and passed by it on the east to Janohah;
7从雅挪哈下到亚大录和拿拉，再到耶利哥，直到约旦河为止。And it went down from Janohah to Ataroth, and to Naarath, and came to Jericho, and went out at Jordan.
8这地界又从他普亚，顺着加拿河往西延伸，直通到海为止。这就是以法莲支派按着宗族所得的地业。The border went out from Tappuah westward unto the river Kanah; and the goings out thereof were at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.
9在玛拿西人地业的一切城镇和所属的村庄中，也保留一些城镇给以法莲的子孙。And the separate cities for the children of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.
10他们却没有赶出住在基色的迦南人。迦南人就住在以法莲人中，成为服劳役的仆人，直到今日。And they drave not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer: but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites unto this day, and serve under tribute.
分给西玛拿西半支派的土地
玛拿西是约瑟的长子，这是他的支派抽签所得之地。玛拿西的长子，基列的父亲玛吉，因为是勇士，就得了基列和巴珊。
There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to wit, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.
2玛拿西其余的子孙，就是亚比以谢的子孙，希勒的子孙，亚斯烈的子孙，示剑的子孙，希弗的子孙，示米大的子孙，都按着宗族抽签得了地。这都是约瑟的儿子玛拿西子孙中各宗族的男丁。There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families.
3玛拿西的玄孙，玛吉的曾孙，基列的孙子，希弗的儿子西罗非哈没有儿子，只有女儿。他的女儿名叫玛拉、挪阿、曷拉、密迦、得撒。But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
4她们来到以利亚撒祭司和嫩的儿子约书亚以及众领袖面前，说：“耶和华曾吩咐摩西在我们兄弟中分产业给我们。”于是约书亚照耶和华的指示，在她们叔伯中，把产业分给她们。And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.
5除了约旦河东的基列和巴珊地之外，还有十份的地业是属于玛拿西的，And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side Jordan;
6因为玛拿西支派的女子也在男子中分得产业。基列地属于玛拿西其余的子孙。Because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons: and the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of Gilead.
7玛拿西的地界是从亚设起，到示剑前面的密米他，往右☛“往右”或译“往南”。到隐．他普亚居民之地。And the coast of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah, that lieth before Shechem; and the border went along on the right hand unto the inhabitants of Entappuah.
8他普亚地归于玛拿西，只是玛拿西边界的他普亚城却归于以法莲子孙。Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah: but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim;
9这地界从那里下到加拿河。河南边的城镇虽然在玛拿西境内，却是属于以法莲的。玛拿西的地界是在河的北边直通到海为止。And the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of it were at the sea:
10南边属于以法莲，北边属于玛拿西，以海为界；北边达到亚设，东边达到以萨迦。Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.
11玛拿西在以萨迦和亚设境内，有伯．善和所属的乡镇，以伯莲和所属的乡镇，多珥和所属乡镇的居民；还有隐．多珥和所属乡镇的居民，他纳和所属乡镇的居民，米吉多和所属乡镇的居民，共三个山冈☛“共三个山冈”：原文另译“第三个是山冈”。。And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Bethshean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even three countries.
12只是玛拿西的子孙不能赶出这些城镇的居民，迦南人仍坚持住在那地。Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
13以色列人强盛的时候，就叫迦南人做苦工，没有把他们全然赶走。约瑟的子孙要求更多土地
Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were waxen strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, but did not utterly drive them out.
14约瑟的子孙对约书亚说：“耶和华到如今这样赐福给我，我百姓众多，你为什么只给我抽一签，分一份的土地为业呢？”And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the LORD hath blessed me hitherto?
15约书亚对他们说：“如果你百姓众多，而以法莲山区太窄小，那么你可以上比利洗人和利乏音人之地的树林中，在那里开垦。”And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.
16约瑟的子孙说：“那山区容不下我们，而且住平原的迦南人，就是住伯．善和所属的乡镇，以及住在耶斯列平原的人，都有铁的战车。”And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Bethshean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.
17约书亚对约瑟家，就是以法莲和玛拿西人，说：“你百姓众多，并且强大，不可只有一签而已。And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only:
18那山区也要归你，虽然是树林，你可以去开垦，边缘之地也必归你。迦南人纵然强盛，有铁的战车，你也能把他们赶出去。”But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.
其余支派的土地分配
以色列全会众都聚集在示罗，把会幕设立在那里。那地已经被他们征服了。
And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them.
2以色列人中剩下七个支派还没有分得他们的地业。And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance.
3约书亚对以色列人说：“耶和华－你们列祖的神所赐给你们的地，你们耽延不去得，要到几时呢？And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?
4你们每支派要选三个人，我好派他们去，他们要起身走遍那地，按照各支派应得的地业写明，然后回到我这里来。Give out from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me.
5他们要把地分成七份。犹大在南方，住在他的境内。约瑟家在北方，住在他们的境内。And they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall abide in their coast on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their coasts on the north.
6你们把地划成七份之后，就要把所写的带到我这里来。我要在耶和华－我们的神面前，为你们抽签。Ye shall therefore describe the land into seven parts, and bring the description hither to me, that I may cast lots for you here before the LORD our God.
7利未人在你们中间没有分得地业，因为耶和华祭司的职分就是他们的产业。迦得支派、吕便支派和玛拿西半支派已经在约旦河东得了地业，是耶和华的仆人摩西给他们的。”But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them.
8那些去划地的人起来正要去的时候，约书亚吩咐他们说：“你们去走遍那地，把地划分以后，就回到我这里来。我要在示罗这里，在耶和华面前为你们抽签。”And the men arose, and went away: and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me, that I may here cast lots for you before the LORD in Shiloh.
9那些人就去了，走遍那地，按照城镇把地划成七份，写在册上，回到☛“回到”：七十士译本是“带回到”。示罗营中约书亚那里。And the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven parts in a book, and came again to Joshua to the host at Shiloh.
10约书亚就在示罗，在耶和华面前为他们抽签。约书亚按照以色列人的支派，在那里把地分给他们。分给便雅悯的土地
And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the LORD: and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions.
11便雅悯支派，按着宗族抽签所得之地，是在犹大子孙和约瑟子孙之间。And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families: and the coast of their lot came forth between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.
12他们北边的地界是从约旦河起，上到耶利哥斜坡的北边，再往西上到山区，直到伯．亚文的旷野。And their border on the north side was from Jordan; and the border went up to the side of Jericho on the north side, and went up through the mountains westward; and the goings out thereof were at the wilderness of Bethaven.
13这地界从那里往南经过路斯，直到路斯的斜坡，路斯就是伯特利，又下到亚他录．亚达，直到下伯．和仑南边的山。And the border went over from thence toward Luz, to the side of Luz, which is Bethel, southward; and the border descended to Atarothadar, near the hill that lieth on the south side of the nether Bethhoron.
14这地界往西延伸，又转向南，从伯．和仑南边对面的山，直通到犹大人的城基列．巴力，基列．巴力就是基列．耶琳。这就是西边的地界。And the border was drawn thence, and compassed the corner of the sea southward, from the hill that lieth before Bethhoron southward; and the goings out thereof were at Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, a city of the children of Judah: this was the west quarter.
15南边是从基列．耶琳的顶端为起点，这地界往西☛“这地界往西”：七十士译本是“这地界向迦萨”。通到尼弗多亚水泉，And the south quarter was from the end of Kirjathjearim, and the border went out on the west, and went out to the well of waters of Nephtoah:
16这地界又下到欣嫩子谷对面山的边缘，就是利乏音谷的北边；又下到欣嫩谷，沿着耶布斯斜坡的南边，下到隐．罗结；And the border came down to the end of the mountain that lieth before the valley of the son of Hinnom, and which is in the valley of the giants on the north, and descended to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of Jebusi on the south, and descended to Enrogel,
17又往北转弯，通到隐．示麦，直到亚都冥斜坡对面的基利绿，又下到吕便之子波罕的磐石，And was drawn from the north, and went forth to Enshemesh, and went forth toward Geliloth, which is over against the going up of Adummim, and descended to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben,
18又往北经过亚拉巴对面的斜坡☛“亚拉巴对面的斜坡”：七十士译本是“伯．亚拉巴的斜坡”。，下到亚拉巴。And passed along toward the side over against Arabah northward, and went down unto Arabah:
19这地界又经过伯．曷拉斜坡的北边，直通到盐海的北湾，就是约旦河的南端为止。这就是南边的地界。And the border passed along to the side of Bethhoglah northward: and the outgoings of the border were at the north bay of the salt sea at the south end of Jordan: this was the south coast.
20东边的地界是约旦河。这是便雅悯人按着宗族，照着他们四围的边界所得的地业。便雅悯分得的城镇
And Jordan was the border of it on the east side. This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, by the coasts thereof round about, according to their families.
21便雅悯支派按着宗族所得的城镇就是：耶利哥、伯．曷拉、伊麦．基悉、Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Bethhoglah, and the valley of Keziz,
22伯．亚拉巴、洗玛脸、伯特利、And Betharabah, and Zemaraim, and Bethel,
23亚文、巴拉、俄弗拉、And Avim, and Parah, and Ophrah,
24基法．阿摩尼、俄弗尼和迦巴，共十二座城，以及所属的村庄；And Chepharhaammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities with their villages:
25又有基遍、拉玛、比录、Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth,
26米斯巴、基非拉、摩撒、And Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,
27利坚、伊利毗勒、他拉拉、And Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah,

分给西缅的土地
第二签是西缅，是西缅支派的人按着宗族抽出的，他们所得的地业是在犹大人地业的中间。
And the second lot came forth to Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families: and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah.
2他们所得为业之地是：别是巴，或名示巴，摩拉大、And they had in their inheritance Beersheba, and Sheba, and Moladah,
3哈萨．书亚、巴拉、以森、And Hazarshual, and Balah, and Azem,
4伊勒多腊、比土力、何珥玛、And Eltolad, and Bethul, and Hormah,
5洗革拉、伯．玛加博、哈萨．苏撒、And Ziklag, and Bethmarcaboth, and Hazarsusah,
6伯．利巴勿、沙鲁险，共十三座城，还有所属的村庄；And Bethlebaoth, and Sharuhen; thirteen cities and their villages:
7又有亚因、利门、以帖、亚珊，共四座城，还有所属的村庄；Ain, Remmon, and Ether, and Ashan; four cities and their villages:
8以及这些城镇周围一切的村庄，直到巴拉．比珥，就是尼革夫的拉玛。这是西缅支派的人按着宗族所得的地业。And all the villages that were round about these cities to Baalathbeer, Ramath of the south. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families.
9西缅人的地业取自犹大人的土地，因为犹大人所得的份过多，所以西缅人从犹大人的地业中取了地业。分给西布伦的土地
Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.
10第三签是西布伦人按着宗族抽到的。他们地业的边界延伸到撒立。And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families: and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid:
11他们的地界往西，上到玛拉拉，达到大巴设，又达到约念前面的河。And their border went up toward the sea, and Maralah, and reached to Dabbasheth, and reached to the river that is before Jokneam;
12又从撒立往东转到向日出的方向，经过吉斯绿．他泊的边界，到大比拉，又上到雅非亚。And turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrising unto the border of Chislothtabor, and then goeth out to Daberath, and goeth up to Japhia,
13又从那里往东，经过迦特．希弗，到以特．加汛，通到临门，延伸到尼亚。And from thence passeth on along on the east to Gittahhepher, to Ittahkazin, and goeth out to Remmonmethoar to Neah;
14这地界在北边绕过尼亚，到哈拿顿，直通到伊弗他．伊勒谷，And the border compasseth it on the north side to Hannathon: and the outgoings thereof are in the valley of Jiphthahel:
15包括加他、拿哈拉、伸仑、以大拉、伯利恒，共十二座城，还有所属的村庄。And Kattath, and Nahallal, and Shimron, and Idalah, and Bethlehem: twelve cities with their villages.
16这些城镇和所属的村庄是西布伦人按着宗族所得的地业。分给以萨迦的土地
This is the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.
17第四签是以萨迦，是以萨迦人按着宗族抽出的。And the fourth lot came out to Issachar, for the children of Issachar according to their families.
18他们的地界是到耶斯列、基苏律、书念、And their border was toward Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem,
19哈弗连、示按、亚拿哈拉、And Haphraim, and Shihon, and Anaharath,
20拉璧、基善、亚别、And Rabbith, and Kishion, and Abez,
21利篾、隐．干宁、隐．哈大、伯．帕薛。And Remeth, and Engannim, and Enhaddah, and Bethpazzez;
22这地界达到他泊、沙哈洗玛、伯．示麦，他们的地界直通到约旦河为止，共十六座城，还有所属的村庄。And the coast reacheth to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Bethshemesh; and the outgoings of their border were at Jordan: sixteen cities with their villages.
23这些城镇和所属的村庄是以萨迦支派的人按着宗族所得的地业。分给亚设的土地
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.
24第五签是亚设支派的人按着宗族抽出的。And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families.
25他们的地界是黑甲、哈利、比田、押煞、And their border was Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Achshaph,
26亚拉米勒、亚末、米沙勒，往西达到迦密，又到希曷．立纳，And Alammelech, and Amad, and Misheal; and reacheth to Carmel westward, and to Shihorlibnath;
27又转到向日出方向的伯．大衮，达到细步纶；又往北到伊弗他．伊勒谷，到伯．以墨和尼业，也通到迦步勒的左边☛“左边”或译“北边”。，And turneth toward the sunrising to Bethdagon, and reacheth to Zebulun, and to the valley of Jiphthahel toward the north side of Bethemek, and Neiel, and goeth out to Cabul on the left hand,
28又到义伯仑、利合、哈们、加拿，直到西顿大城。And Hebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, even unto great Zidon;
29这地界转到拉玛，直到坚固的推罗城。这地界又转到何萨，靠近亚革悉一带的地方☛“靠近亚革悉一带的地方”：原文另译“亚革悉、玛哈拉”。，直通到海为止。And then the coast turneth to Ramah, and to the strong city Tyre; and the coast turneth to Hosah; and the outgoings thereof are at the sea from the coast to Achzib:
30又有乌玛、亚弗、利合，共二十二座城，还有所属的村庄。Ummah also, and Aphek, and Rehob: twenty and two cities with their villages.
31这些城镇和所属的村庄是亚设支派的人按着宗族所得的地业。分给拿弗他利的土地
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.
32第六签是拿弗他利人，是拿弗他利人按着宗族抽出的。The sixth lot came out to the children of Naphtali, even for the children of Naphtali according to their families.
33他们的地界是从希利弗，从撒拿音的橡树、亚大米．尼吉和雅比聂，直到拉共，直通到约旦河为止。And their coast was from Heleph, from Allon to Zaanannim, and Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, unto Lakum; and the outgoings thereof were at Jordan:
34这地界往西转到亚斯纳．他泊，从那里通到户割，南边达到西布伦，西边达到亚设，向日出的方向达到约旦河的犹大。And then the coast turneth westward to Aznothtabor, and goeth out from thence to Hukkok, and reacheth to Zebulun on the south side, and reacheth to Asher on the west side, and to Judah upon Jordan toward the sunrising.
35坚固的城有西丁、侧耳、哈末、拉甲、基尼烈、And the fenced cities are Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth,
36亚大玛、拉玛、夏琐、And Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor,
37基低斯、以得来、隐．夏琐、And Kedesh, and Edrei, and Enhazor,
38以利稳、密大．伊勒、和琏、伯．亚纳、伯．示麦，共十九座城，还有所属的村庄。And Iron, and Migdalel, Horem, and Bethanath, and Bethshemesh; nineteen cities with their villages.

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.
40但支派，按着宗族，抽到第七签。And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families.
41他们地业的边界是琐拉、以实陶、伊珥．示麦、And the coast of their inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Irshemesh,
42沙拉宾、亚雅仑、伊提拉、And Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jethlah,
43以伦、亭拿、以革伦、And Elon, and Thimnathah, and Ekron,
44伊利提基、基比顿、巴拉、And Eltekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath,
45伊胡得、比尼．比拉、迦特．临门、And Jehud, and Beneberak, and Gathrimmon,
46美．耶昆、拉昆，以及约帕对面的地界。And Mejarkon, and Rakkon, with the border before Japho.
47当但的子孙失去他们疆土的时候，就上去攻取利善，用刀击杀城中的人，得了那城，住在城中，以他们祖先但的名字将利善改名为但。And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.
48这些城镇和所属的村庄是但支派的人按着宗族所得的地业。给约书亚的城
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.
49以色列人按着疆土完成了地业的分配，就在他们中间把地给嫩的儿子约书亚为业。When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them:
50他们照着耶和华的指示，把约书亚所要的城，就是以法莲山区的亭拿．西拉给了他。约书亚修建那城，住在城中。According to the word of the LORD they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnathserah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.
51这就是以利亚撒祭司和嫩的儿子约书亚，以及以色列人各支派父系的领袖，在示罗会幕的门口，耶和华面前抽签所分的地业。这样， 他们就完成了分地的事。These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.
设立逃城
（民35．9－28；申19．1－13）
耶和华吩咐约书亚说：
The LORD also spake unto Joshua, saying,
2“你吩咐以色列人说：‘你们要照我藉摩西所吩咐你们的，为自己设立逃城，Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint out for you cities of refuge, whereof I spake unto you by the hand of Moses:
3使那无意中误杀人的，可以逃到那里。这些要作为你们逃避报血仇者的城。That the slayer that killeth any person unawares and unwittingly may flee thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood.
4杀人者要逃到这些城中的一座，站在城门口，把他的事情陈诉给那城的长老听。他们就要接他入城，给他地方，让他住在他们中间。And when he that doth flee unto one of those cities shall stand at the entering of the gate of the city, and shall declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.
5若是报血仇者追上了他，长老不可把他交在报血仇者的手里，因为他是无意中杀了邻舍的，并非过去彼此之间有仇恨。And if the avenger of blood pursue after him, then they shall not deliver the slayer up into his hand; because he smote his neighbour unwittingly, and hated him not beforetime.
6他要住在那城里，直到他站在会众面前受审判；等到当时的大祭司死后，杀人者才可以回到本城本家，就是他所逃出来的那城。’”And he shall dwell in that city, until he stand before the congregation for judgment, and until the death of the high priest that shall be in those days: then shall the slayer return, and come unto his own city, and unto his own house, unto the city from whence he fled.
7于是，以色列人划分拿弗他利山区加利利的基低斯、以法莲山区的示剑和犹大山区的基列．亚巴，基列．亚巴就是希伯仑。And they appointed Kedesh in Galilee in mount Naphtali, and Shechem in mount Ephraim, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, in the mountain of Judah.
8他们在约旦河的另一边，就是耶利哥的东边，从吕便支派中，在旷野的平原设立比悉，从迦得支派中设立基列的拉末，从玛拿西支派中设立巴珊的哥兰。And on the other side Jordan by Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness upon the plain out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh.
9这都是为以色列众人和在他们中间寄居的外人所指定的城镇，使凡误杀人者可以逃到那里，不至于死在报血仇者的手中，直到他站在会众面前受审判☛“受审判”是根据七十士译本，原文没有。。These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that whosoever killeth any person at unawares might flee thither, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation.
利未人的城
利未人的众族长近前来到以利亚撒祭司和嫩的儿子约书亚，以及以色列人各支派父系的领袖那里，
Then came near the heads of the fathers of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel;
2在迦南地的示罗对他们说：“从前耶和华曾藉着摩西吩咐给我们城镇居住，以及城镇的郊外供我们牧养牲畜。”And they spake unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The LORD commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle.
3于是以色列人照耶和华的指示，从自己的地业中，把这些城镇和城镇的郊外给了利未人。And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the LORD, these cities and their suburbs.
4哥辖族抽了签。利未人中亚伦祭司的子孙，从犹大支派、西缅支派、便雅悯支派的地业中，抽签得了十三座城。And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron the priest, which were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.
5哥辖其余的子孙，从以法莲支派、但支派、玛拿西半支派宗族的地业中，抽签得了十座城。And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.
6革顺的子孙，从以萨迦支派、亚设支派、拿弗他利支派、住巴珊的玛拿西半支派宗族的地业中，抽签得了十三座城。And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.
7米拉利的子孙，按着宗族，从吕便支派、迦得支派、西布伦支派的地业中，得了十二座城。The children of Merari by their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
8以色列人照耶和华藉摩西所吩咐的，把这些城镇和城镇的郊外，抽签给利未人。And the children of Israel gave by lot unto the Levites these cities with their suburbs, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.
9他们从犹大支派和西缅支派的地业中，给了以下所记名字的各城，And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name,
10就是给利未人哥辖宗族的亚伦子孙，因为他们抽到第一签：Which the children of Aaron, being of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi, had: for theirs was the first lot.
11把犹大山区的基列．亚巴，就是希伯仑，和四围的郊野给了他们。亚巴是亚衲族的祖先。And they gave them the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, with the suburbs thereof round about it.
12但是，这城的田地和所属的村庄却给了耶孚尼的儿子迦勒为业。But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.
13他们把希伯仑，就是误杀人的逃城和城的郊外，给了亚伦祭司的子孙；又给了立拿和城的郊外、Thus they gave to the children of Aaron the priest Hebron with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Libnah with her suburbs,
14雅提珥和城的郊外、以实提莫和城的郊外、And Jattir with her suburbs, and Eshtemoa with her suburbs,
15何仑和城的郊外、底璧和城的郊外、And Holon with her suburbs, and Debir with her suburbs,
16亚因和城的郊外、淤他和城的郊外，以及伯．示麦和城的郊外，共九座城，都是从这二支派中分出来的。And Ain with her suburbs, and Juttah with her suburbs, and Bethshemesh with her suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes.
17又从便雅悯支派的地业中给了基遍和城的郊外、迦巴和城的郊外、And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with her suburbs, Geba with her suburbs,
18亚拿突和城的郊外，以及亚勒们和城的郊外，共四座城。Anathoth with her suburbs, and Almon with her suburbs; four cities.
19亚伦子孙作祭司的共有十三座城，以及城的郊外。All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their suburbs.
20利未人哥辖的宗族，就是哥辖其余的子孙，抽签所得的城是从以法莲支派来的。And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites which remained of the children of Kohath, even they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.
21他们把以法莲山区的示剑，就是误杀人的逃城和城的郊外给了哥辖其余的子孙；又给了基色和城的郊外、For they gave them Shechem with her suburbs in mount Ephraim, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Gezer with her suburbs,
22基伯先和城的郊外，以及伯．和仑和城的郊外，共四座城。And Kibzaim with her suburbs, and Bethhoron with her suburbs; four cities.
23又从但支派的地业中给了伊利提基和城的郊外、基比顿和城的郊外、And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh with her suburbs, Gibbethon with her suburbs,
24亚雅仑和城的郊外，以及迦特．临门和城的郊外，共四座城。Aijalon with her suburbs, Gathrimmon with her suburbs; four cities.
25又从玛拿西半支派的地业中给了他纳和城的郊外，以及迦特．临门和城的郊外，共两座城。And out of the half tribe of Manasseh, Tanach with her suburbs, and Gathrimmon with her suburbs; two cities.
26哥辖其余的子孙共有十座城，以及城的郊外。All the cities were ten with their suburbs for the families of the children of Kohath that remained.
27利未人宗族中革顺的子孙，从玛拿西半支派的地业中所得的是巴珊的哥兰，就是误杀人的逃城和城的郊外，以及比．施提拉和城的郊外，共两座城。And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the other half tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Beeshterah with her suburbs; two cities.
28从以萨迦支派的地业中所得的是基善和城的郊外、大比拉和城的郊外、And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon with her suburbs, Dabareh with her suburbs,
29耶末和城的郊外，以及隐．干宁和城的郊外，共四座城。Jarmuth with her suburbs, Engannim with her suburbs; four cities.
30从亚设支派的地业中所得的是米沙勒和城的郊外、押顿和城的郊外、And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with her suburbs, Abdon with her suburbs,
31黑甲和城的郊外，以及利合和城的郊外，共四座城。Helkath with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs; four cities.
32从拿弗他利支派的地业中所得的是加利利的基低斯，就是误杀人的逃城和城的郊外、哈末．多珥和城的郊外，以及加珥坦和城的郊外，共三座城。And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Hammothdor with her suburbs, and Kartan with her suburbs; three cities.
33革顺人按着宗族共有十三个城，以及城的郊外。All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs.
34其余的利未人，就是米拉利的子孙，按着宗族从西布伦支派的地业中所得的是约念和城的郊外、加珥他和城的郊外、And unto the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with her suburbs, and Kartah with her suburbs,
35丁拿和城的郊外，以及拿哈拉和城的郊外，共四座城。Dimnah with her suburbs, Nahalal with her suburbs; four cities.
36从吕便支派的地业中所得的是比悉和城的郊外、雅杂和城的郊外、And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with her suburbs, and Jahazah with her suburbs,
37基底莫和城的郊外，以及米法押和城的郊外，共四座城。Kedemoth with her suburbs, and Mephaath with her suburbs; four cities.
38从迦得支派的地业中所得的是基列的拉末，就是误杀人的逃城和城的郊外、玛哈念和城的郊外、And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs,
39希实本和城的郊外，以及雅谢和城的郊外，共四座城。Heshbon with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities in all.
40利未宗族其余的人，就是米拉利的子孙，按着宗族抽签所得的，共十二座城。So all the cities for the children of Merari by their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities.
41利未人在以色列人的地业中所得的城，共四十八个，还有城的郊外。All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs.
42这些城的四围都有郊野，每个城都是如此。以色列人得地为业
These cities were every one with their suburbs round about them: thus were all these cities.
43这样，耶和华将从前向他们列祖起誓要给他们的全地赐给以色列人，他们就得了为业，住在其中。And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.
44耶和华照着向他们列祖起誓所应许的一切，赐给他们全境安宁。他们所有的仇敌，没有一个能在他们面前站立得住。耶和华把所有仇敌都交在他们手中。And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.
45耶和华应许赐福给以色列家的话，一句都没有落空，全都应验了。There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.
东岸的支派回去
此后，约书亚召了吕便人、迦得人和玛拿西半支派的人来，
Then Joshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh,
2对他们说：“耶和华的仆人摩西所吩咐你们的，你们都遵守了；我吩咐你们的话，你们也都听从了。And said unto them, Ye have kept all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, and have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you:
3你们这许多日子，都没有撇弃你们的弟兄，直到今日，并且遵守了耶和华你们神所吩咐的命令。Ye have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of the LORD your God.
4如今耶和华－你们的神已经照着他所应许的，使你们的弟兄得享安宁。你们现在可以返回自己的帐棚，回到耶和华的仆人摩西在约旦河东所赐给你们为业之地。And now the LORD your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side Jordan.
5只是务要谨守遵行耶和华的仆人摩西所吩咐你们的诫命和律法，爱耶和华－你们的神，行他一切的道，守他的诫命，紧紧跟随他，尽心尽性事奉他。”But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
6于是约书亚为他们祝福，送他们回去，他们就回到自己的帐棚去了。So Joshua blessed them, and sent them away: and they went unto their tents.
7摩西在巴珊曾把地业分给玛拿西的半支派；然后约书亚在约旦河的西岸，在他们弟兄中，又把地业分给玛拿西的另外半支派。约书亚送他们回帐棚的时候，为他们祝福，Now to the one half of the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given possession in Bashan: but unto the other half thereof gave Joshua among their brethren on this side Jordan westward. And when Joshua sent them away also unto their tents, then he blessed them,
8对他们说：“你们要把许多财物，许多牲畜，和金、银、铜、铁，以及许多衣服，带回你们的帐棚去，要把你们从仇敌夺来的东西分给你们的众弟兄。”And he spake unto them, saying, Return with much riches unto your tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with brass, and with iron, and with very much raiment: divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.
9于是吕便人、迦得人、玛拿西半支派的人从迦南地的示罗起行，离开以色列人，回到他们已得为业的基列地，就是他们照耶和华藉摩西所吩咐而得的。约旦河旁的祭坛
And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go unto the country of Gilead, to the land of their possession, whereof they were possessed, according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
10吕便人、迦得人和玛拿西半支派的人到了迦南地的约旦河一带地方，就在约旦河那里筑了一座坛，一座高大壮观的坛。And when they came unto the borders of Jordan, that are in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by Jordan, a great altar to see to.
11以色列人听见了，说：“看哪，吕便人、迦得人、玛拿西半支派的人在迦南地对面，约旦河一带地方，以色列人的境内，筑了一座坛。”And the children of Israel heard say, Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh have built an altar over against the land of Canaan, in the borders of Jordan, at the passage of the children of Israel.
12以色列人一听见，全会众的以色列人就聚集在示罗，要上去攻打他们。And when the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up to war against them.
13以色列人派以利亚撒祭司的儿子非尼哈，往基列地，到吕便人、迦得人和玛拿西半支派的人那里。And the children of Israel sent unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest,
14和他同去的还有十个领袖，以色列每个支派在父家中各派一个领袖，这些人每一个在以色列族系中都是父家的领袖。And with him ten princes, of each chief house a prince throughout all the tribes of Israel; and each one was an head of the house of their fathers among the thousands of Israel.
15他们来到基列地，到吕便人、迦得人和玛拿西半支派的人那里，对他们说：And they came unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, unto the land of Gilead, and they spake with them, saying,
16“耶和华全会众这样说：‘你们今日离弃耶和华不跟从他，干犯以色列的神，悖逆耶和华，为自己筑了一座坛，你们所犯的是何等的罪！Thus saith the whole congregation of the LORD, What trespass is this that ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the LORD, in that ye have builded you an altar, that ye might rebel this day against the LORD?
17从前我们在毗珥犯的罪孽，导致瘟疫临到耶和华的会众，甚至到今日都还没有洗净，这还算小事吗？Is the iniquity of Peor too little for us, from which we are not cleansed until this day, although there was a plague in the congregation of the LORD,
18你们今日竟然离弃耶和华不跟从他！你们今日既然悖逆耶和华，明日他必向以色列全会众发怒。But that ye must turn away this day from following the LORD? and it will be, seeing ye rebel to day against the LORD, that to morrow he will be wroth with the whole congregation of Israel.
19若你们认为所得为业之地不洁净，可以过来，到耶和华之地，就是耶和华的帐幕所居住之地，在我们中间得地业。你们却不可悖逆耶和华，也不可背叛我们，在耶和华－我们神的坛以外为自己筑坛。Notwithstanding, if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass ye over unto the land of the possession of the LORD, wherein the LORD's tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession among us: but rebel not against the LORD, nor rebel against us, in building you an altar beside the altar of the LORD our God.
20从前谢拉的曾孙亚干岂不是在那当灭的物上犯了罪，导致愤怒临到以色列全会众吗？死在他所犯的罪中的，不只是他一个人而已！’”Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? and that man perished not alone in his iniquity.
21于是吕便人、迦得人、玛拿西半支派的人回答以色列族系的领袖，说：Then the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh answered, and said unto the heads of the thousands of Israel,
22“大能者神耶和华！大能者神耶和华！他已知道，愿以色列人也知道，我们若有悖逆的行为，或是干犯耶和华，你今日就不要让我们活着！The LORD God of gods, the LORD God of gods, he knoweth, and Israel he shall know; if it be in rebellion, or if in transgression against the LORD, (save us not this day,)
23若我们为自己筑坛，离弃耶和华不跟从他，或将燔祭、素祭、平安祭献在坛上，愿耶和华亲自追究。That we have built us an altar to turn from following the LORD, or if to offer thereon burnt offering or meat offering, or if to offer peace offerings thereon, let the LORD himself require it;
24不是这样！我们做这事的原因是惧怕将来你们的子孙对我们的子孙说：‘你们与耶和华－以色列的神有什么关系呢？And if we have not rather done it for fear of this thing, saying, In time to come your children might speak unto our children, saying, What have ye to do with the LORD God of Israel?
25因为耶和华以约旦河作我们和你们吕便人、迦得人的交界，所以你们在耶和华里无份。’这样，你们的子孙就使我们的子孙不再敬畏耶和华了。For the LORD hath made Jordan a border between us and you, ye children of Reuben and children of Gad; ye have no part in the LORD: so shall your children make our children cease from fearing the LORD.
26因此我们说：‘不如为自己筑一座坛，不是为献燔祭，也不是为献别样的祭，Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice:
27而是为你我之间和后代子孙之间作证据，好使我们也在耶和华面前献我们的燔祭、平安祭和别样的祭来事奉他，免得你们的子孙将来对我们的子孙说，你们在耶和华里无份。’But that it may be a witness between us, and you, and our generations after us, that we might do the service of the LORD before him with our burnt offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye have no part in the LORD.
28所以我们说：‘将来他们若对我们，或对我们的子孙这样说，我们就可以回答说：你们看，我们列祖所筑的坛是耶和华坛的样式，这并不是为献燔祭，也不是为献别样的祭，而是作为你们和我们之间的证据。’Therefore said we, that it shall be, when they should so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say again, Behold the pattern of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices; but it is a witness between us and you.
29除了耶和华－我们神帐幕前的坛以外，我们绝没有意思要为着献燔祭、素祭和别样的祭而另外筑一座坛，悖逆耶和华，今日离弃不跟从他。”God forbid that we should rebel against the LORD, and turn this day from following the LORD, to build an altar for burnt offerings, for meat offerings, or for sacrifices, beside the altar of the LORD our God that is before his tabernacle.
30非尼哈祭司与会众中的领袖，就是与他同来那些以色列族系的领袖，听见吕便人、迦得人、玛拿西人所说的话，就都看为美。And when Phinehas the priest, and the princes of the congregation and heads of the thousands of Israel which were with him, heard the words that the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the children of Manasseh spake, it pleased them.
31以利亚撒祭司的儿子非尼哈对吕便人、迦得人、玛拿西人说：“今日我们知道耶和华在我们中间，因为你们没有向他犯悖逆的罪。现在你们把以色列人从耶和华的手中救出来了。”And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the children of Manasseh, This day we perceive that the LORD is among us, because ye have not committed this trespass against the LORD: now ye have delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of the LORD.
32以利亚撒祭司的儿子非尼哈与众领袖离开了吕便人和迦得人，从基列地回迦南地，到了以色列人那里，就把这事向他们回报。And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the princes, returned from the children of Reuben, and from the children of Gad, out of the land of Gilead, unto the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought them word again.
33以色列人看这事为美；以色列人就称颂神，不再说要上去攻打吕便人和迦得人，毁坏他们所住的地了。And the thing pleased the children of Israel; and the children of Israel blessed God, and did not intend to go up against them in battle, to destroy the land wherein the children of Reuben and Gad dwelt.
34吕便人和迦得人给这坛起了名，因为这坛在我们之间见证耶和华是神。And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad called the altar Ed: for it shall be a witness between us that the LORD is God.
约书亚的遗言
耶和华使以色列人从四围所有的仇敌中得享安宁，已经有很多日子了。约书亚年纪老迈，
And it came to pass a long time after that the LORD had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua waxed old and stricken in age.
2就召了全以色列的众长老、领袖、审判官和官长来，对他们说：“我年纪已经老迈。And Joshua called for all Israel, and for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said unto them, I am old and stricken in age:
3耶和华－你们的神因你们的缘故向这些国家所做的一切，你们都亲眼看见了，那为你们作战的是耶和华－你们的神。And ye have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto all these nations because of you; for the LORD your God is he that hath fought for you.
4看，我已经把所剩下的列国，连同从约旦河起到大海日落的方向，我所剪除的列国，都抽签分给你们各支派为业了。Behold, I have divided unto you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the great sea westward.
5耶和华－你们的神必将他们从你们面前赶出去，使他们离开你们，你们就必得他们的地为业，正如耶和华－你们的神向你们所应许的。And the LORD your God, he shall expel them from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as the LORD your God hath promised unto you.
6你们要大大壮胆，谨守遵行写在摩西律法书上的一切话，不可偏离左右。Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left;
7不可与你们中间所剩下的这些国家往来。你们不可提他们神明的名，不可指着它们起誓，不可事奉它们，也不可敬拜它们。That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them:
8只要紧紧跟随耶和华－你们的神，就像你们直到今日所做的。But cleave unto the LORD your God, as ye have done unto this day.
9因为耶和华已经把又大又强的列国从你们面前赶出；直到今日，没有一人能在你们面前站立得住。For the LORD hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day.
10你们一人必追赶千人，因为耶和华－你们的神照他向你们所应许的，为你们作战。One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.
11你们要分外谨慎，爱耶和华－你们的神。Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the LORD your God.
12你们若断然转离，紧紧跟随你们中间所剩下的这些国家，彼此结亲，互相往来，Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you:
13就要确实知道，耶和华－你们的神必不再将他们从你们面前赶出；他们却要成为你们的罗网、圈套、肋上的鞭、眼中的刺，直到你们在耶和华－你们神所赐的这美地上灭亡。Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.
14“看哪，我今日要走世人必走的路了。你们要一心一意知道，耶和华－你们神所应许要赐给你们的一切福气，没有一件落空，都应验在你们身上了。And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.
15耶和华－你们的神所应许的一切福气怎样临到你们身上，耶和华也必照样使各样灾祸临到你们身上，直到他把你们从耶和华－你们神所赐给你们的这美地上除灭。Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.
16你们若违背耶和华－你们神吩咐你们所守的约，去事奉别神，敬拜它们，耶和华的怒气必向你们发作，使你们在他所赐给你们的美地上迅速灭亡。”When ye have transgressed the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.
约书亚在示剑最后的讲话
约书亚召集以色列的众支派到示剑，他召了以色列的长老、领袖、审判官和官长来；他们都站在神面前。
And Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called for the elders of Israel, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before God.
2约书亚对众百姓说：“耶和华－以色列的神如此说：‘古时你们的列祖，就是亚伯拉罕和拿鹤的父亲他拉，住在大河那边事奉别神。And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods.
3我将你们的祖宗亚伯拉罕从大河那边带出来，领他走遍迦南全地，又使他的子孙众多。我把以撒赐给他，And I took your father Abraham from the other side of the flood, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac.
4我又把雅各和以扫赐给以撒，将西珥山赐给以扫为业。但雅各和他的子孙下到埃及去了。And I gave unto Isaac Jacob and Esau: and I gave unto Esau mount Seir, to possess it; but Jacob and his children went down into Egypt.
5我差遣摩西和亚伦，照我在埃及中间所做的，降灾与埃及，然后把你们领出来。I sent Moses also and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt, according to that which I did among them: and afterward I brought you out.
6我领你们的祖宗出埃及，你们就到了红海。埃及人带领战车骑兵，追赶你们的祖宗到红海。And I brought your fathers out of Egypt: and ye came unto the sea; and the Egyptians pursued after your fathers with chariots and horsemen unto the Red sea.
7你们的祖宗哀求耶和华，他就用黑暗把你们和埃及人隔开了，又使海水冲向埃及人，淹没他们。我在埃及所做的，你们都亲眼见过。你们在旷野住了很多日子。And when they cried unto the LORD, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes have seen what I have done in Egypt: and ye dwelt in the wilderness a long season.
8我领你们到约旦河东亚摩利人所住之地。他们与你们争战，我把他们交在你们手中，你们就得了他们的地为业。我也在你们面前灭绝他们。And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt on the other side Jordan; and they fought with you: and I gave them into your hand, that ye might possess their land; and I destroyed them from before you.
9那时，摩押王西拨的儿子巴勒起来攻击以色列人，派人去召比珥的儿子巴兰来诅咒你们。Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and warred against Israel, and sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you:
10但我不愿听巴兰，所以他反而为你们连连祝福。这样，我救了你们脱离他的手。But I would not hearken unto Balaam; therefore he blessed you still: so I delivered you out of his hand.
11你们过了约旦河，来到耶利哥。耶利哥人、亚摩利人、比利洗人、迦南人、赫人、革迦撒人、希未人、耶布斯人都与你们争战，我却把他们交在你们手里。And ye went over Jordan, and came unto Jericho: and the men of Jericho fought against you, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I delivered them into your hand.
12我派遣瘟疫☛“瘟疫”或译“黄蜂”。在你们前面，将亚摩利人的两个王从你们面前赶出，并不是用你的刀，也不是用你的弓。And I sent the hornet before you, which drave them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; but not with thy sword, nor with thy bow.
13我赐给你们的地，不是你们开垦的；我赐给你们的城镇，不是你们建造的。你们却住在其中，又得吃那不是你们栽植的葡萄园和橄榄园的果子。’And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat.
14“现在你们要敬畏耶和华，诚心诚意事奉他，除掉你们列祖在大河那边和在埃及事奉的神明，事奉耶和华。Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.
15若你们认为事奉耶和华不好，今日就可以选择所要事奉的：是你们列祖在大河那边所事奉的神明，或是你们所住这地亚摩利人的神明呢？至于我和我家，我们必定事奉耶和华。”And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
16百姓回答说：“我们绝不离弃耶和华去事奉别神。And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;
17因为耶和华－我们的神曾领我们和我们的祖宗从埃及地为奴之家出来，在我们眼前行了那些大神迹，并在我们所行的一切路上，和所经过的各民族中保护了我们。For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:
18耶和华又把各民族和住此地的亚摩利人都从我们面前赶出去。所以，我们也必事奉耶和华，因为他是我们的神。”And the LORD drave out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve the LORD; for he is our God.
19约书亚对百姓说：“你们不能事奉耶和华，因为他是神圣的神，是忌邪☛“忌邪”：原文是“妒忌”，意思是“不容许有对立的神明”。的神，必不赦免你们的过犯罪恶。And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.
20你们若离弃耶和华去事奉外邦的神明，耶和华在降福之后，必转而降祸给你们，把你们灭绝。”If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.
21百姓对约书亚说：“不，我们要事奉耶和华。”And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD.
22约书亚对百姓说：“你们选择耶和华，要事奉他，你们自己作证吧！”他们说：“我们愿意作证。”And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.
23“现在，你们要除掉你们中间外邦的神明，专心归向耶和华－以色列的神。”Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel.
24百姓对约书亚说：“我们必事奉耶和华－我们的神，听从他的话。”And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.
25那日，约书亚就与百姓立约，在示剑为他们制定律例典章。So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.
26约书亚把这些话写在神的律法书上，又拿一块大石头立在橡树下耶和华圣所的旁边。And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the LORD.
27约书亚对众百姓说：“看哪，这石头可以向我们作见证，因为它听见了耶和华所吩咐我们的一切话；这石头将向你们作见证，免得你们背叛你们的神。”And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.
28于是约书亚解散百姓，各自回到自己的地业去了。约书亚和以利亚撒去世
So Joshua let the people depart, every man unto his inheritance.
29这些事以后，耶和华的仆人，嫩的儿子约书亚死了，那时他一百一十岁。And it came to pass after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred and ten years old.
30以色列人把他葬在他自己地业的境内，以法莲山区的亭拿．西拉，在迦实山的北边。And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathserah, which is in mount Ephraim, on the north side of the hill of Gaash.
31约书亚在世的日子和他死了以后，那些知道耶和华为以色列所做一切事的长老还在世的时候，以色列人事奉耶和华。And Israel served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that overlived Joshua, and which had known all the works of the LORD, that he had done for Israel.
32以色列人把从埃及所带来约瑟的骸骨安葬在示剑，就是雅各从前用一百可锡塔☛“可锡塔”：古希伯来钱币单位；参“度量衡表”。向示剑的父亲哈抹的众子所买的那块地；这块地就成了约瑟子孙的产业。And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem, in a parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for an hundred pieces of silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of Joseph.
33亚伦的儿子以利亚撒也死了，他们把他葬在他儿子非尼哈所得以法莲山区的小山上☛“小山上”或译“基比亚”。。And Eleazar the son of Aaron died; and they buried him in a hill that pertained to Phinehas his son, which was given him in mount Ephraim.
