用以赛亚的儿子作记号
耶和华对我说：“你取一块大板子，拿人的笔☛“拿人的笔”或译“用普通的字”。，写上‘玛黑珥．沙拉勒．哈施．罢斯’☛“玛黑珥．沙拉勒．哈施．罢斯”意思是“掳掠速临、抢夺即将发生”。。
Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz.
2我☛“我”：有古卷和七十士译本是“你”。要用可靠的证人，乌利亚祭司和耶比利家的儿子撒迦利亚为我作证。”And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.
3我亲近女先知☛“女先知”是以赛亚的妻子。；她就怀孕生子，耶和华对我说：“给他起名叫玛黑珥．沙拉勒．哈施．罢斯；And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz.
4因为在这孩子还不晓得叫爸爸妈妈以前，大马士革的财宝和撒玛利亚的掳物必被亚述王掠夺一空。”For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.
亚述王速临
5耶和华又吩咐我：The LORD spake also unto me again, saying,
6“这百姓既厌弃西罗亚缓流的水，喜欢利汛以及利玛利的儿子，Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;
7因此，看哪，主必使亚述王和他的威势如大河翻腾汹涌的水上涨，盖过他们，必上涨超过一切水道，涨过两岸，Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:
8必冲入犹大，涨溢泛滥，直到颈项。他展开翅膀，遮蔽你的全地。以马内利啊！”And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.
9万民哪，任凭你们行恶☛“行恶”或译“崩溃”或“喧嚷”。，终必毁灭； 远方的众人哪，当侧耳而听！ 任凭你们束腰，终必毁灭； 你们束起腰来，终必毁灭。Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.
10任凭你们筹算什么，终必无效； 不管你们讲定什么，总不成立； 因为神与我们同在。Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.
耶和华警告先知
11耶和华以大能的手训诫我不可行☛“训诫我不可行”：死海古卷是“使我远离”。这百姓所行的道，对我这样说：For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,
12“这百姓说同谋背叛的，你们不要说同谋背叛。他们所怕的，你们不要怕，也不要畏惧；Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
13但要尊万军之耶和华为圣，他才是你们所当怕的，所当畏惧的。Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
14他必作为圣所，却向以色列的两家成为绊脚的石头，使人跌倒的磐石；作耶路撒冷居民的罗网和圈套。And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15许多人在其上绊倒，他们跌倒，甚至跌伤，并且落入陷阱，被抓住了。”And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
不要求问死人
16你要卷起律法书，在我门徒中间封住教诲。Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
17我要等候那转脸不顾雅各家的耶和华，也要仰望他。And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
18看哪，我与耶和华所赐给我的儿女成了以色列的预兆和奇迹，这是从住在锡安山万军之耶和华来的。Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
19有人对你们说：“当求问招魂的与行巫术的，他们唧唧喳喳，念念有词。”然而，百姓不当求问自己的神吗？岂可为活人求问死人呢？And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
20当以教诲和律法书为准；人所说的若不与此相符，必没有黎明。To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
遭难的时候
21他必经过这地，遇艰难，受饥饿；饥饿的时候，心中焦躁，咒骂自己的君王和神。他仰观上天，And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.
22俯察下地，看哪，尽是艰难、黑暗和骇人的昏暗。他必被赶入幽暗中去。And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.
