5有人摆设筵席， 铺上地毯，又吃又喝。 “官长啊，起来， 抹亮盾牌。”Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield.
6主对我如此说： “你去设立守望者， 让他报告他所看见的。For thus hath the LORD said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.
7他会看见一对一对骑着马的军队， 又看见驴队，骆驼队， 他要留心听，仔细地听。”And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed:
8他如狮子般吼叫☛“他如狮子般吼叫”：死海古卷是“守望者喊叫”。： “主啊，我白天常站在瞭望楼， 彻夜立在我的瞭望台。”And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:
9看哪，有一对一对骑着马的军队前来。 他就回应说：“巴比伦倾倒了！倾倒了！ 他把巴比伦神明的一切雕刻偶像都打碎在地上了。”And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.
10我被打的禾稼，我禾场上的谷物啊， 我从万军之耶和华－ 以色列的神那里所听见的，都告诉你们了。O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.

14提玛地的居民哪， 提水来迎接口渴的人， 带饼来迎接难民。The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled.
15他们躲避刀剑和出了鞘的刀， 躲避上了弦的弓与战争的重灾。For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.
16主对我这样说：“一年之内，按照雇工年数的算法，基达一切的繁华必归无有。For thus hath the LORD said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:
17基达人中强壮弓箭手剩下的数目甚为稀少，这是耶和华－以色列的神说的。”And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath spoken it.
