大衛上行之詩。神保護他的子民
說吧，以色列：
「若不是耶和華幫助我們， If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;
2若不是耶和华帮助我们， 当人起来攻击我们，If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
3那时，人向我们发怒， 就把我们活活吞了；Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
4那时，波涛必漫过我们， 河水必淹没我们；Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
5那时，狂傲的水 必淹没我们。”Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
6耶和华是应当称颂的！ 他没有把我们交给他们，作牙齿的猎物。Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
7我们好像雀鸟，从捕鸟人的罗网里逃脱， 罗网破裂，我们就逃脱了。Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
8我们得帮助， 是因造天地之耶和华的名。Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
